Tutorial could use a skip button. A lot of the voice flags are of different languages than listed. Subscription service seems less ideal for me than a one-time purchase as I won't be using this often therefore I won't be paying, given the current model. Installed this app to learn material on the go. The accents are nice. Helped me pass my learners permit quiz!

This app could be great but it should still be in beta testing. It constantly shuts down and tells me that I have to purchase a premium account (which I already have) and then I have to wait a couple hours for assistance to fix the issue. The next problem is when I'm driving and have a weak cell signal it shuts down until I get signal again. Also sometimes it just freezes over and over again for no obvious reason. And last but not least occasionally it hijacks my car stereo and won't shut down.

Some voices glitch out on the app. Dwight, for instance, stops at each paragraph and the voice changes to the default voice after a few minutes of loading. Snoop is great, works and doesn't stop reading as often, and doesn't change. Maybe it's the individual voices that are sometimes problematic. Overall decent, but buggy.

Not worth the money. I tried the free trial, it seemed ok, but now that I've paid for it, its garbage. It regularly pauses on me for no reason. It takes eons to open a document I want to have read. I set preferences to not read inline citations and they have it set to not read page numbers, but it reads both those things still. It also will skip words sometimes. It read through a glossary section and skipped the glossary words only read definitions - words were only bolded.

Some of the voices are actually quite nice. However practical use of this is irrelevant as it stops playing because of a "slow network" and does not start back up. It switches you to an offline voice and remains paused. The offline voices are the same as the default android ones. The only way this will change your life is if you waste the money. I get around 50 - 20mbps download speed at all times and have not moved. Add a buffer or allow complete pdf conversions be downloadable within the app.

I provided feedback but it seemed like they did not know what I was talking about. The app needs to be integrated with Android Auto in the car for it to be useful in any way if one us to listen to audiobooks while driving like I do. Additionally, app freezes and I have to quit the app and restart it, whivh can create a safety issue when driving. For the price, these features should be added. Even free apps for podcasts such as Snipd has Android Auto integration.

So far I really enjoy this app, though it needs a lot of improvements. Tried to make a folder for my documents in app, still can't figure it out, instructions are not clear. Voices change randomly. Fantastic concept, and I will be using this app for my textbooks, I've already paid for the premium app, but this is not a well polished. Hopefully the developers will be working on it.

I decided to try this so one more time and an still very disappointed with it. It sometimes works but most of the time I end up eating more time by taking photos of everything than carefully crying everything just for it to skip over large portions of the text, this is after spending time messaging back and forth with their customer service. I made the mistake of paying for premium thinking this would help, I suggest you don't, it didn't help at all.

Requires an expensive subscription, isn't particularly good. It starts off with a long text document that it makes you listen to it read before you can even start to use the app which is unnecessary and annoying. There's no way to tell it to skip it. And then you find out that you can't really use the app at all with a paid subscription that only gives you a 3-day free trial and then it's very expensive after that. I really wanted to like this app, but it's a glitchy mess on so many levels, it's unusable. First, I did sign up for the free trial, except the app never recognized it and it kept asking over and over. Even if I click to do it again, Google says it did, and the app says it didn't. When I scan in pages, it skips multiple words and jumps around. It reads odd and will stop in the middle of a sentence and then pick up the next word as if it's a new sentence and it's super hard follow. Trash.

App has problems. Better on a computer. When I open in app it says unable to open a lot. Then when it does work it sounds in a foreign language. Works great on my desktop. Little to know help can be found. More specifically right now I open my app and it just keeps freezing no voice, no words. And then text just sits there. I uninstalled reinstalled and it's now stuck on the intro screen. Glad I paid over $100 for this. Not worth it.

I purchased a premium subscription with the understanding that I would be able to use this in my car on commutes to work. What they offer is no better than TTS over Bluetooth,which I can do without the product. It would be a much better experience if they just supported carplay or Android Auto. The difference are little things like being able to control the volume and pause, replay, resume with your steering wheel rather than having to pick your phone back up.

I really want this to be better than it is. It's a great idea and sounds pretty natural most of the time, but the software development is just lazy. Right off the bat you find all kinds of bugs. Males voices are actually female, no indication what accent the English voices have, no way to skip the into when you open the app the first time, and the app stops playing if you turn your screen off. It would be so easy to make this great. Seems like they focused on stupid things like having snoop dog

PLEASE fix the stop playing glitch. It plays for a few minutes, almost 10 minutes or so before it suddenly stops. And I can only get it to play again if I open the app again and press play, which is somehow pausing on its own. Otherwise, this is a really helpful app that Speechify team has created. Lots of text reading options and reading voices to choose from. I don't usually pay for apps. But this one seems really promising. So please keep updating. Also the voices could use some more nuance.

The app is ok. You have to edit documents to get it to read fluently. Changed the voice, and it still reads very robotically. Not very impressive. The bigger problem was trying to cancel my subscription. My original intention was to pay for a month's subscription and use it for a few weeks. They charged me for the year. I tried t0 cancel the subscription, and I have been going back and forth now because they are refusing to issue a refund minus the month of use. Not good. Not good at all.

Don't be fooled, save your hard earned money... do not pay for Premium. Constantly stops, and switches from Premium voice to offline voice. Reads weak signal as reason why. Not true, if Netflix, Youtube, and Spotify work at same location with no signal interuption then Speechify is the problem. I have restarted cell phone, uninstalled the app then reinstalled, the problem persists. I wasted $139. This app was recommended to me, will evaluate my friendship, because friends don't do you dirty.

For having to drop $100 id expect a much better experience. There is very little customization. The voices will skip word and double pronounce syllables. It complain about poor connection even when I have a very stable gigabit service. Pauses for no reason every once and a while. At speaking speeds over 1.3x the voices are choppy. Paid for this to improve my reading consistently while going to school, but it frustrating to use.

Terrible. Cannot read a full document completely without stopping and restarting, voices randomly change when restarted, does not properly remember progress, and the worst customer service that does not respond for several days, let alone claiming to respond in within a few hours. The app seemed to work for a few days so I upgraded to premium and now it has updated and the performance has totally fallen through.
