Occasionally when I change the size of the printing, the place in the book moves. Annoying. I have to find my place in the book again. A good feature would be to indicate the date when each book ended. Would be handy to check out reading history. I like the dark mode. It would be nice to have an option for light blue printing. A battery percentage indicator at the top right corner of the screen would be handy.

Previously has been one of the best places to listen to books scoring a 4 for me. However recent updates make it clunky and not easy to listen to an entire book. The App forgets you've purchased audiobooks untill you tinker around and now stops audio mode after chapters. The competition of this app is podcasts and the radio both are most often used whilst driving. It needs to be more driver friendly before I use it as often as I once use to.

I would love if they could create a way to combine Kindle with audible. I sometimes read and other times listen to my books, depending on where I am. Would be good to be able to go back and forth between the two with the same book, continuing where I left off. And a discount price to get both Kindle and Audible Versions of a book.

I used to really enjoy reading paper books! but, since I've gotten older, holding a book for long periods of time bothers my arthritis! Kindle enables me to read for much longer, like in the old days! I'll be honest, I do miss the! but I probably wouldn't be reading very much if it weren't for Kindle. plus I can have six or seven books that I'm reading at a time and had space for them all without creating clutter.

I have to agree with many others that the syncing sucks. Having to go halfway through the book to find where I was when I last read is a headache. Plus having to go elsewhere to buy a book is ridiculous. I've been using Kindle unlimited for years and these updates need to go back to where they were. Why fix something that has nothing wrong with it? Go back to the old way it used to be

I don't knownwhat they have done but it takes things FOREVER to download. It takes FOREVER for me to return a book to Unlimited. I try to search for a book/author and nothing comes up. If it is something they are recommending it works in a snap but I don't want want they are recommending. It seems all Amazon apps have had a problem lately. I can't get my Amazon music to play - not in my phone or my Facebook portal. Super frustrating. Been with Kindle for years so I'd hate to switch.

The app is pretty nice, I wish I was able to use different fonts on different books with it changing every book. There are some glitches that come and go. Over all I'm happy and will continue using it. There does need to be a better interface for the audio book and visual book together, it's clumsy and could use improvement.

Update... This app is getting worse. It never holds your place in a book even if using the bookmark. Every time I go to read it's in a different spot than where I left off. What has happened to this app?! Bad enough you can't purchase from the app anymore. Now it's jumps all over the place, keeps going back pages. Never keeps my place, so frustrating. After I've read all I have already purchased I'll be using a different app. This is horrible.

I like being able to have my Kindle library with me in my phone. The e-reader is great but the narration with Kindle Unlimited does not work with most of the books I have downloaded, even when I have downloaded the narration and then when it does play, when I stop and start the book, it starts over from the beginning! Very frustrating, so I try to watch where I am in the book.

My most used/loved app, but knocked 2 stars off for 2 changes that need to be made: Dark mode option needs to be for app background and independent from device setting, not dependent on the entire device being set on dark mode. It used to be this way, needs to be brought back. In-app purchase needs to be brought back (on the Shopping app as well.) Very inconvenient to have to log onto the website every time I want to buy a book. Would love to see this take place.

The app advertises itself as working with audible if you wish to read along with narration. It fails in this regard. There should be user functionality to prompt the app to look for audible files. Instead, we rely on the app just *somehow knowing* a valid audible file already exists. Even when it recognizes the audio file, the audio controls will just occasionally vanish from the bottom margin, requiring reinstallation. After that, zero guarantee it will detect the audio next time. 2⭐️ > 1⭐️.

Updated 7-19-2023: Ran the stars up to 5. Overnight an update was provided. All the glitchy issues are fixed and it's running smooth as silk. Thank you! When I'm reading a book, I can no longer access the home screen to change book being read. I can tap all day long and it will only go to the next page. Once in a while I get lucky and it will work. Seems to have gotten worse with today's update.

Had nothing but good things to say until I came across the absolute horror show that is family library and trying to share content. You guys do not make it at all easy and what the heck is with the 180 day rule for adding editing your family members?! I mean, don't offer a feature but then make it the most horrendous thing to navigate and manage. Very frustrating.

Formerly a 5 star rating, but downgraded to 3 stars since the last major update, which changed the app from one in which you could buy and check out the titles, which was very convenient and frankly the logical user experience, to having to use Amazon to buy and/or rent the titles, which seems like a poor choice on account of the dev team. generally, reducing the functionality of an app by completely cutting out a major function, after well over a decade into it's existence, is very ill advised.

I used to have 5 stars for this app. Now it's down to two because it's not syncing correctly across devices. Most annoying, however, is that it sometimes does not show the audiobooks that I've bought, neither in the library, nor in the book I'm reading at the moment, such that when I open the book, the "play" button disappears. Closing the app and re-opening it used to work. Not anymore. Very very glitchy.

Lately, I've had glitches where it doesn't put me back at the same spot I left off in the book even though I haven't been reading on any other devices. Also inconvenient that I can no longer directly buy books or Vella coins in the app. Also would be nice to have more control in brightness level in the app, I like to read at night and would be nice to be able to dim text a bit more.

Abysmal. The app on android is better, but the whole Kindle experience is horrible. What a user needs to make a UI easily navigated and remembered is consistency. And Kindle is the champ of inconsistency - within the app, between platforms, and between versions. For 2 hours today, Amazon's own support staff couldn't get text display and Audible playback to sync for me. Their own docs didn't match the software, and whatever menu item they wanted me to tap on, simply wasn't there. For 2 hours.

I very much like that this app synchronizes with my Kindle. However, two things annoy me. First, it can be finicky when trying to restore reading location, getting out of sync with the Kindle. Second, I find the fullscreen user interface combined with swipe gestures very annoying. I often accidentally swipe to a different page when I'm trying to exit fullscreen mode.
