I absolutely love Wattpad and have been using it for 7 years without any issues. At first there weren't any ads at all but when I updated it just the other day the ads have been extremely consistent and annoying. An ad pops up every single chapter wether I'm going backwards or not and it's making it very difficult to enjoy reading and relaxing especially when the ads are 15-30 seconds long. I hope another update is very soon and the ads disappear giving back the relaxing feeling us readers need.

As a very long time writer + reader on Wattpad I love it! The interface is very smooth and very usually doesnt have any bugs, and it notifies you on time! I hardly ever have to seek a external writing app as it has everything I need! And its all very simple to use! (I do however occasionally write on a offline app because after some time offline some of your drafts may become unassessable until online again). The algorithm to get your book found works very well, and is very beginner friendly!

Before the update, there was the ability to download an unlimited number of books. Now, there are only up to two! I don't like having to be online just to read, and especially if I can't be, it's really annoying! Not to mention, after every chapter, I have an ad. It interrupts my reading, and I don't like that. I've also had difficulties with the app, showing that I have no written works, even though I do. Other than that, the app does run pretty well.

I'm not being able to publish and edit properly from the app. It's been happening for a few days now. It tells me changes are being made elsewhere and to revert to the latest version in the revision history, and now when I press on "publish" it says an unknown error occurred, and it doesn't. I have a published chapter that shows as unpublished in the app.

I'll get to the end of a chapter and they'll be an ad, my screen will black out and I have to restart my phone just to get back on the app y'all have the most useless updates on any app I've ever seen. I've been reading books on this app since 2012 the fact that the app has gotten worse is not a good sign and I'm STILL not able to move on the the next chapters, fix it already!!

I can always enjoy a good book here for free and don't even have to pay! I recommend this to anyone! Love it! The only thing I don't really enjoy is how many times you have to update it which takes up storage space each time.... Update: I might change this review because lately that last few updates I've noticed that after every chapter recently would be an Ad unlike when I first started to use this app...like come on! Can't even enjoy said story and keep getting interrupted....

In love wattpad and have for a very long time but the ads and the weird picture problem are really out of hand and a real damper on writing and reading. The pictures were they glitch to the top and leave a big gap between it and the text is really annoying for me to write and add pics to my books when it does that. I hope that you guys will fix that soon! :)

I've used wattpad for a couple years now - it used to be an ad every few chapters (like every 3-4 pages), but now it's after every single chapter and it's almost unbearable. I understand ads are necessary for funding the app but this is ridiculous. Will wait to see if they fix it, but otherwise I'll be finding a new app.

I've been using this app for the past few years and I have really enjoyed it. After the recent update, it's really annoying. I am constantly crashing and can't even read a chapter. Everytime the app crashes, it sets my place in the chapter back to where I have to scroll back to my spot; however, if I scroll too fast or for too long, I crash again, and repeat. I don't know what happened, but I think it's time for me to move on from this app.

I'd give this no stars if possible. I don't know if the developer actually reads reviews, but I'm really starting to hate this app. It makes no sense that when I begin a new sentence and try to use the "Bold" or "Italics" option, the tool causes the entire work to become bold type. It's incomprehensible, considering the sentence is not attached to the rest of the previous paragraphs. What's the point of the tools if they don't work properly. Until it's fixed, I'll find another app.

Ive had this app for years. In the beginning it was great. Now im ready to delete it and lose all the stories ive written. There are so many ads that reading has become annoying, not everyone can buy the no ads option. There is literally an ad after every page and its tiresome. Theres the issue of when you write something theres a chance it will lost and cant be recovered from revision history even if saved. Or the written part wont appear in the actual story, you can only see it in the draft.

I have been on this app for 10 years now and have never had any issues until this most recent update. If I close out of a chapter midway and open the story again, I'm back at the very beginning of the chapter and have to scroll to find my place that I left off. The changes to the home page are way different and unnecessary. Not every book I open is one I want to keep reading, so why show me that book? If I wanted to keep reading i would have added it to my library or reading list.

The point of the revision history has become utterly pointless. Even when it says it "Saves" your work. It doesn't, at all. And then, when you try to restore it It's not in the revision history. In order to save my work I have to take screenshots. Way to many ads. An ad every chapter is probably the most draining thing and makes you not even want to read anymore. Honestly, it was a good app a few years ago, but now, it's just not as great as it used to be if not bad.

This app used to be good enough to read stories on. It was fair in ad placement, maybe one every 3 or 4 chapters. But now there is an ad after every chapter. Even if that chapter only had four words in it. They do not screen ads for content and allow anything to play automatically, sound included. There is no easy way to exit the ad. When you try to press the tiny x in the corner, the ad opens, immediately taking you to a new site without Wattpad prompting confirmation. Very disappointed

It's a decent app but the creators definitely need to fix the filter option, it's hard to find anything specifically that you want because once you choose a genre and tap filters, you can't search for and add what topic or other genre you want the stories your looking for to be, you have to choose between only a handful that pops up and you can't refresh the options for more, I've looked for years and I have only found two fantasy stories with male leads that I like.

Too many ads!!! it's annoying to get ads after dvery chapter and going back!! and lately i get nothing but a black screen no matter how long i wait it stays black not even a x pops up so i have to close the app and re-open it. it's ridiculous!! please fix this and remove some of the ads please!! liked it better when it was a ad after a few chapters!

Hi Wattpad, I absolutely love reading on your app!! Your layout and everything is phenomenal-- just one thing. When I'm trying to write (on a phone), and try to italic things, I get so many glitches where more things italicize than I need -- or if I put the format for the middle for two sentences, sometimes everything with turn to it! It's getting quite annoying - along with the fact I'm unable to add more than one picture on a chapter, and sometimes none at all! Please fix this ㅠㅠ

I been a user since 2016 and the app was great, the ad placements were reasonable but now it's just as placement galore. It would take 3-4 taps just to exit an ad, one to fast-forward then exit, exit again, then the ad for premium. It also makes you view the ad again if you decide to go to the previous chapter. Seriously everytime I open this app, the ads keep getting annoying, an ad for every single chapter. If I learned that the author cross platform, I will switch to the alternative.
