Description of PocketBook reader - any books

PocketBook Reader is a free app for reading any e-content (books, magazines, textbooks, comic books, etc.) and listening to audiobooks! The application supports 26 book and audio formats, including mobi, epub, fb2, cbz, cbr. Read without ads and with total comfort!

Choose any content - any format!
• Support of 19 book formats, including the most popular - EPUB, FB2, MOBI, PDF, DJVU, DOCX, RTF, TXT, HTML;

A Google user
Far and away the best e-book reader I've found (and I've been looking hard). Notably, it respects publisher's typesetting rules by default, which is a godsend if you're reading e-books where formatting is important. Other apps that support this usually hide the setting behind a billion menus, and even then often fail in some unanticipated way (eg loading some embedded font / following css rules / literally just crashing). Whereas this app JUST WORKS! :)

I think the old design was better but it's not that bad. Although it technically has more features it lost the simplicity of the old design where it took me a whole hour to figure out most of the controls. I have finally fixed everything and set it back to how I normally like it so with that inconvenience -1 star.

This app won't start unless you give it access to view, edit, and delete ALL files on your system. Competitor apps have no issues opening books on my device without this access and no issues downloading new books without this access. I would stay away from this app. They say they need this to access storage, but storage is different from ALL FILES (which could include system files). Might be malware or a Trojan virus.

This app used to work really well for me. However, a recent update has removed the one thing that made it stand out among ereader apps for Android: the app now inflates the sizes of images in my epub files for no reason. I guess I'll have to find a new app. Update: The issues I described were fixed and the app works pretty much perfectly now.

The app doesn't even work now. There was a way to change font to page view. LARGE PRINT, but they took them out. Trying to use two finger doesn't work either. Pinch one way or the other, it just enlarged the original page, it no longer does a page view so you can actually read it. They updated it so it no longer works!!?

I like the ios app better than the android one. The ios app highlights one sentence at a time during text to speech. The android app highlights none to several sentences, making reading confusing. Ideally it might be better not to highlight any text at all, during text to speech, and turn the page right after text to speech has reached the end of the page. Thanks for your efforts.

I love this app, but I always come across bugs! My current issue: when reading, if I close the app while the book is still open, it goes into columns on any viewing mode. I like reading in scrolling mode so this is killing me slowly. Please help me turn it off Ive found the only way to correct it is deleting my book, and re-adding it to the library, which deletes my highlights and I rather not lose that.

Love the interface, but there's no manual and I couldn't figure out how to connect to an OPDS library. I'm running Calibre server on my home computer so I don't have to keep synchronizing book. This is the 3rd or 4th e-reader I've tried and despite whatever they get right there's at least one thing they don't that keeps me from using them. Looks nice but a few things don't work or are missing features. Has a feature I want and it works, but the interface has problems. :-/ On to the next one ...

I used to adore this app but the new update has made it incredibly frustrating. It took away the space between paragraphs (like, why??) so now the text just runs together continuously making it frustrating to read and the "paragraph" sections in settings does nothing to fix it no matter what you select. I think I may go looking for a different app.

So far my favorite ebook reader. Highest priority improvement for me... Allow manual scrolling while it reads to me (I can't read along during page turns (second half of paragraph) and words behind media player). Sadly the audio book feature doesn't measure up to "Voice" audio book reader so I have to keep two apps.

Works great, when it wants. I've yet to figure out why it randomly will not read pages in order. In this case folders in .cbz are "098" - "108" and picture files inside are "002" "003" etc. Another issue is when I finish a "book" and move on to another book via file browser when the app opens it's back to the final page of the book just finished, I have to close out the app all together for it to work correctly. This was on my galaxy note8 and on a Teclast tablet, haven't tried on my note 20.

Great reading app, but the sync is very fragile Edit: Multiple times per week, sometimes 3 or 4 times per day, the app fails to sync. If I go to the cloud tab, it shows "Sign in". Click that it takes me to a page saying I need to sign out. So I sign out. Then click to sign in. Then agree to TOS. Then wait a few seconds. Once signed in, resync to get my current position. Next time I open the app, odds are fantastic I will have to do it all over again. Sync rarely fails on my Lux4 Pocket Book, which tells me it's the Android app failing, not the backend service.

I love & have used for many years, BUT: I have several very different collections of books I want to access. It's not helpful to have PB mix them all up together. I can't even seem to limit PB to access ONLY ONE file folder the way I could in previous versions of PB. Love the program otherwise, but now I have a very cluttered unworkable library. Help! (I have vision impairment so I use the T2S, but can't easily scroll without having separate folders.)

I have not found a eReader app better than this one. This app has all of the major necessity’s that you could need; Text to voice, highlighting, note taking, bookmarks, screenshots, drawing notes, Webb searching, syncing between devices, cloud syncing your library, easy UI. One suggestion is that the user could create additional bookshelves to organize our library.

This app does a really great job of keeping your library of epubs together. Amd if you upgrade for a small price (under $5) the app will let you sync your files with drop box! i give this 5 stars for simplicity and usability. you don't even have to pay to hear it read out loud to you. the only thing i would suggest if the developers could incorporate speech inflection or accents. it is hard to understand monotone all the time.

Best reading app. Im glad I saw this. It doesn't convert your pdf file to epub, which is actually a good thing. It somehow zooms in to the file and you have complete control of the set up so it would be easy to read. Converting pdf to epub will distort the way the sentences are printed and the whole thing would look weird. This does something amazing.

It's a good app for reading my ebooks, but the series info was left blank for some reason and all my books were out of order. And the book description was missing as well. I like the home page though because it has easy access to recent books and a rescan button for finding new books. There is the problem of the book covers not showing and it ruins the look. (Just some personal ebooks edited with calibre)

I love this app. It allows me to read all sorts of document formats (truthfully I've only encountered PDFs and EPub, but still great). You can adjust the speed and tone of the reader. Great for driving long distances. One question, can I get this on my Microsoft computer? I only see download capability for smart phones. Thx!
