Scribd is a good service, but its Android app is complete garbage. Frequent crashes, constantly forgetting settings choices I've already made (yes, goddamn it, stream over cellular! Why do ask me every time?!?) are just a few examples. If you have an iOS device, the quality between the two are stark and annoying.

I hate that I'll be in the middle of a series and all of a sudden, the next several books in the series will become "available on ..." such and such a date, usually when I'm in the middle of a book and I have to go and buy the book on kindle to finish it! Totally lame way of slowing my reading down and wasting my time and money. I had to spend $30 last month to finish a series because you made the rest of them unavailable for two weeks! They had all been available when I started! Lame!

Love the concept and the price. Bugs include 1) books that I've downloaded and listened to half of dissappearing randomly both from my saved library and from Scribd altogether; 2) books that I've downloaded (and double-checked that they did indeed fully download) NOT having downloaded and being available only through streaming; 3) an annoying pop-up that tells me every freaking time that battery saver mode may affect playback quality (it never has). Need the option to permanently dismiss .

I got a free trial because it was the only place I could find a book I'd been looking for. Once I signed up I couldn't believe how many titles I wanted to read/listen to were INCLUDED with the subscription! Things that would cost a credit or $17 Aud ible. The interface is good, I'm still learning the app but I was able to use it easily on day 1. There are audiobooks and regular books available. 🙏👍 Thankful I came across Scribd in a Google search.

Frequently when opening the app to stop the audio after listening for a long while, the app resets my position to somewhere near the start of the book and it takes me five minutes to find it again, frequently exposing me to spoilers as I jump around the chapters they don't bother to title. In one book it never remembered my place and I had to write it down each time. I opened a ticket and their support didn't take the time to even read what the problem was. Problem has been around for months

I use this app primary for listening to audio books while driving. The same bugs have been in place for months. Namely: When launching Scribd from Android Auto, it always, and I mean always, has a blank menu. To make Scribd work, I have to pull out my phone while driving and go through menus to continue my book. Then, streaming hardly ever starts even with good cell service. Yesterday I had to restart the app several times before just downloading the book. It's downright dangerous.

I do enjoy the app & plan on keeping it for now. My 2 complaints are, #1. some of the authors I love you either have no books, or audiobooks, or you have 1-2 only. #2. why do you constantly, for the last 3 -4 months I've had my subscription do you constantly make some books unavailable for 2 weeks at a time. I'm not sure if this happens to many other authors but the main one I listen to Christine Feehan most of her books are only available a week or 2 a month and it's very frustrating.

Positives: - Doesn't have all the titles that I'm looking for but overall, quite impressed with selection. - Can't beat the price. - Unlimited number of books every month. No other app compares. Negatives: -Difficult to navigate platform. Kinda like trying to watch a show on Amazon Prime vs Netflix. Disorganized and messy. - App randomly closes and you have to find your spot again. Annoying. - Phone overheats and drains my battery. Overall: Good service needing improvement.

One of my favorite and most used apps. Saves me so much money/time. I use it mostly for audio books. And while for me, it doesn't completely replace Audible (mostly because of Audible exclusivity deals) it definitely saves me credits and allows me so many more titles than I could dream of. If I had to pick a single platform for books/digital content, it would 100% be this one.

Can't do 5 stars because it's not perfect. Doesn't have all books always and is a little heavy on my phone battery if I'm listening to an audio book. Otherwise it's a great service and helps me discover new topics or check out authors I probably wouldn't commit to buying a book from. Just is a great way to explore books. It's nice they have other documents also.

They do have a pretty good selection of audiobooks (what I primarily read). Be aware that, despite their claims, you won't get access to an unlimited amount of books per month. I get 7 audiobook listens a month, and then they shut everything down until the next date my subscription renews. I can't even search to see if a new book is even available until my membership renews.

Scribd has a good selection for a good cost, but the app constantly buffers when playing audiobooks. Because of this, I have to restart the app every 10 minutes. It's really annoying, especially when I'm driving and can't be on my phone. I don't have this issue with other audiobook apps. It also constantly tells me to turn off battery saving, even when I don't have battery saving on.

I love the concept but hate the execution. The subscription service for unlimited books is amazing. Script doesn't have every book I want but has a great selection. However the mobile app and the desktop app are extremely frustrating and make the experience unnecessarily difficult. Finding the current book you're listening to is frustrating, highlighting bookmarking and tracking time spent reading are all terrible. I really wish they would spend some time focusing on the user experience.

Despite offering the option to download for offline listening, the app continuously crashes if it's not connected to internet. And while connected to internet, downloaded books "buffer" as though they are using the wifi to load, despite already being downloaded. Also the continuous cycling of books is annoying, I'll get halfway through a series just to find out I have to wait a month for the next book to be available again. OR all books except the first will be available. Just very frustrating.

This app is very intrusive. I recommend you download books/audiobook and listen or read them offline. This app slows all other apps running at the same time. If this app is open or running in the background opening up a web page with Chrome takes five minutes. It also takes forever to download. It is like this app is stuck in 3G.

This app is limiting reading based on the genre or author. After two to three books you cannot listen to anymore books until the next billing cycle unless it's one from another genre or one they recommend. This is a deceptive practice and I have cancelled my membership because of it. If I was told in the beginning you have x amount of reads I would have been very selective about which books I picked. When I reached out I was told it's in my terms and service.

I love this app! I originally subscribed to gain access to the seemingly limitless amount of sheet music available on Scribd. That alone saves me lots of money on music while improving my craft. Then I got into the audiobooks, and eventually Ebooks. I've never voluntarily read this much in my life! When I tell anyone about Scribd, I call it the Spotify for books because you get unlimited access to an infinite amount of reading. Couldn't be happier with this app!

The only issue is that the app, while downloading the book, still streams the content. Then after pausing for an hour, it says "buffering" and WILL NOT PLAY until I close and reopen the app. None of the offered solutions have worked. The buffering issue is a safety issue, since I ONLY use the app while I'm on the road. Forces me to spend more time looking @ screen while driving. 4764036 issue #. Also, I've turned off cell access for the app, forcing it to play from download. It still buffers
