This app is a pain. No way to set up a phone alert when I get a deposit only email. Many things I want to do in the app must be done through the website. Not very user friendly to find simple things like settings. Took 20 minutes to find settings in the app only to find out I can't set up phone alerts when my card is used. I miss Simple. This app was designed by people that don't bank through an app.

The latest update moved the daily totals to the right and they removed the red and green coloring which was much more important in my opinion than the total value of my stocks. Would like to see it moved back to where it was and adding colors back in to indicate gains and losses like it was. This ui change made it less usable and less intuitive.

App has issues loading. Repeatedly will need to be force closed and reopened. I've had to use a browser to check account balances. It would be helpful if the bugs could be fixed so it works. Update 9/15/2022 the app continues to have multiple issues of not loading. I am also unable to set up any alerts as I just receive an error message.

I like the banking side of the app. The investing side of the app is a complete mess, IMO. On the Robo Portfolio I get an error all the time saying it can't determine if my account is funded or not when it clearly is and I can't access the account. On Individual Portfolio, it's just too far behind current market. I understand that's a thing, 15 min delay or whatnot, but I'd rather use an app that didn't have the lag for personal stock picks.

I find it odd that the interface looks more modern and user-friendly via desktop than the actual app. For some reason I am unable to add contacts for Zelle transfers via the Ally app without having the contact's account number. However, through Ally's desktop website, I can just use their phone number or email as usual. Why? I also need to look into it more but I do not believe I can set repeating payments through Zelle on the app as well. It is how I pay my rent normally...

What's in the app works well, but it's what's missing that's frustrating. So many of the bill pay functions I want to regularly do, like set up payees or make recurring payments, can only be done on the full site, and that doesn't open on a mobile browser. After all these years, you'd think an online only bank would have a full service app.

Going on day 3 of "service temporarily unavailable" in the app on phone. Same result in three different browsers on a PC, including one browser that was installed for the first time just to test this issue, and the PC was on a different internet connection. This is obviously not a client end issue. Called in, got esclated yesterday, haven't heard back. Refusing to acknowledge an issue doesn't help anyone, guys.

It has taken me way too long to get help with my account. I never received a card, customer service times out every time i try to contact them and I had to download a second app because I'm supposed to have a card to control. I haven't used the account except to initially transfer funds. It's a tricky app. I would not recommend it. Very difficult to navigate when you'd like a card replaced or help finding something.

This app is trash. First, I try making a mobile deposit, which doesn't work. It keeps resetting the data. Second, I delete the app and reinstall it. When I open the app, I can't get to the login screen. When I click Login, it brings me back to the same page I was on. Very unreliable and unusable for banking transactions.

Good overall, but push notifications to alert you when the card is used do not work. They used to work great, but now not at all. That was a useful feature so it's a bummer it's not working. The text message alerts do work, but the push notifications do not. I do like that they added the card nicknames to card controls and integrated it into the main app. That was great.

App works about 85-90% of the time for me, and times out too fast. Not a big deal, since I am not a trader, but still annoying. My suggestion is to get rid of the messages telling me that my data is unavailable, and just take me directly back to the login screen if I have timed out. Also, I think it would be more intuitive if the back button did not completely back you out of the snapshot, but should bring you only back as far as the default snapshot screen (My holdings).

When trying to access my investment account through the app it starts loading then times out and closes the app entirely. This isn't a new issue, had experienced it before. Very frustrating. It's no better going through a web browser...have to constantly clear all my data and cache in order to access the investment dashboard. This is unacceptable in a trading system.

The plus: until recently this app has been perfect. Today, #1 it continually crashes when i try to make a deposit. #2. The number pad to enter the deposit amount is partially hidden under the "DONE" bar at the bottom of the screen - i did find a work around for that by changing system font settings to the smallest font. Call to tech support, and. 3 app reinstalls later, didn't help. This is on Android 8.0.0 and a new Motorola E5 phone.

The Ally banking app works most of the time, but it still has some serious, recurring flaws that prevent it from being a dependable banking solution. These include occasionally being unable to log in ("Please try again later"), and "busy" servers that cannot complete a transaction. On top of that is the obnoxious interface that tries to push Ally features, such as savings buckets. Really, the ONLY thing that keeps me as an Ally customer is their outstanding interest rates.

I really like ally, and the bank it's self. But the app could really improve. 1. The layout could be more modern and user friendly. It took me forever to find my account number. The ui just looks outdated. 2. It takes quite a while for the app to reflect purchases. I wanna know asap. 3. Notifications. Why are there no app notifications? It's text based? And it takes a long while. -suggestion. Check out Stash's UI. Its great.

The app forces you to log in again after just a few minutes of inactivity while multitasking. Often times the data entry fields won't respond when attempting to complete an order ticket so you have to start the process from the beginning. No streaming quotes, live options data, or push notifications... seriously?! You can't even trade cash-settled index options like SPX in the app! And there's an annoying Securities Income Program banner in the app that can't be dismissed. What a hot turd! 💩

This app crashes on me about every other time O open it and every time I'm logged out and try to log back it will crash if I don't close and reopen prior to logging back in. It is also very difficult to navigate. The older version was much more stable as well as much easier to navigate. I preferred the older version to the desktop browser version. Now I just dislike both. Fees for trading are also exorbitant compared to other platforms.

This app gets worse and worse. Useful features are regularly replaced by junk features that you can't opt out of. The latest, defaulting to open buckets instead of account activity when you click on an account is especially annoying, and unlike before, you can't change the default. It's maddening. The app regularly hangs up or even crashes when trying to see account activity. I've relied on this app for a decade to do the majority of my banking, but at this point it's quickly becoming unusable.
