I wish they would update your balance in real time as you purchase and make payments. It makes tracking your total much more difficult. Also, it doesnt let you pay a transaction as soon as it posts to the account. These should be standard features. I have those with all my other credit card companies but for some reason its lacking here.

I have never had any issues uploading receipts. Since the last update anytime I try to pull a picture of a reciept to upload it says the app needs permission for my files to access my photos. I go to settings on my phone and look at the permissions and there is no option for Files just camera. Even after I allow ALL permissions it STILL won't let me take receipts from my camera roll like I have always done.

The app itself works just fine, everything is clear and easy to navigate. The reason for my low review is that you can't switch accounts without wiping the app every time. I got an amex account for my business a while ago and recently got a personal account as well. I often use my mobile banking apps to check my bill due dates and make spontaneous extra payments when I have extra funds. But now I've had to chose which account is more important as I can't just log into a different account easily

The current update is trash! Before there was no problem accessing everything needed and making payments; now I can't make payments. Had to manipulate it before being able to select the custom payment option. Then after that it doesn't allow me to select the payment method that I already have saved. Having to use the website which defeats the whole purpose of using the app. A roll back needs to be done or a minor revision change ASAP.

This app consistently notifies me of AmEx lounges available for use AFTER I've left the airport and am on the plane or walking out the door. So far I've experienced this 3 times in one month for each of my trips. Otherwise the app is ok but the app is horrible at helping me get the benefits out of being a platinum card holder. Amex should partner with Google on getting its location services to work reliably. Maybe take some cues from Assistant.

As of Aug 2022, the ability to upload receipts has ended with this app. Before now, I could make a purchase and upload an image of the receipt to my AMEX account for my records, which was BY FAR, the best feature of this app. Now, the app suddenly started giving an error stating "FILE PERMISSIONS DENIED" and that I need to enable file permissions... but there is no longer an option to allow file permissions. So the most usable feature of this app is unfortunately... dead. PLEASE FIX!

Certain features in this app are poorly designed. for example when you start it it flashes an overview of all your cards before auto zooming into one of them. Stupid feature, just let me select the card I want. The back button acts as an exit app button occasionally rather than a back. E.G. after it auto directs after lunch pressing the back button asks you if you want to leave the app. No, I want to be taken back to the previous screen to pick the correct card!

So I use American express because the rewards are great but the app has several things that bother me. First thing is you can only make 5 payments a day. So If I want to pay off each transaction at a time it takes days but they let you make more payments over the phone. Second anything over $100 doesn't have a pay it option only a plan it. I hate paying interest so I don't ever use the plan it. Last you can't pay off the next bills balance even if your total balance is high no payments are allow

Updated to add that now everytime I restart my phone, my Touch login turns off automatically. Irritating. App is user-friendly when it works though doesn't make Freezing your card easily accessible. I would think that would be on the Menu instead of having to dig through submenus just to find the hyperlink under Replace Card (I think is where it is). I also frequently get error messages of Our system in not Responding, try again later. And yes, I am UTD.

Never had an issue with the app -- like the interface, and aesthetic. AMEX- LISTEN UP -- the app is missing one simple, critical feature; no ability to search through offers without scrolling through every.single.one.. absolutely not, fix this! Add a search function, when someone wants to check for an offer from a SPECIFIC company.

I really just don't understand what the point of the main screen is. Such a weird choice. The swipe animation is smooth, but just shows a picture of the credit card? Why? Now it's a logo, that's not even proper resolution? What is the point supposed to be? Maybe quick privacy? It's still mind boggling, and seems like such a wasted effort, surely a huge company like this can afford some kind of quality control on their official app. 🤷‍♂️

I've had a lot of trouble with this app as far as ease of use. It is confusing compared to its purpose of displaying easy to understand banking information and showing accurate transaction data in real time. It continues to show previous credit owed instead of current credit owed. I have a total 15 transactions and 4 payments but somehow when I calculate the transactions myself I paid $500 over but the app still shows an owed balance. Fix the app or service. Maybe add a breakdown chart.

Two separate times I have not gotten notifications for my payment due date, and this time it made me late for a payment. I have checked several times that notifications are turned on, and nothing is set to prevent anything. This ever being a problem is an instant failure to me. Everything else seems to work fine, but not notifying a user about a payment - something which can cost you money and hurt your credit - is unacceptable.

I am beyond frustrated with this App. I'm ready to cancel my credit card because not worth it when cannot pay or change users. I tried booking travel too and could not change my password and now I'm locked out and could not book travel. I have to use Priceline instead. I'm loosing my point. I went from 5 star to 1 star. I pay so much with Amex and been a customer for years. Not worth it!!!

Pointless app for what I initially opened it for. Don't have the "Send" cash option. I'm constantly having to login everytime I'm switching from one link to the other. Biometrics login is hit or miss. Tells me to enable it to use it... well, it's enabled. What more do you want me to do. I click on a link, "technical difficulties. Try again later". Please fix all the issues on the Android app.

Probably one of the most useless apps. When it works, it works great. But for some reason whenever you click "Forgot Password" it redirects you to the website. From there you can change password and write it down. Log in online and your fine. But if you go back to the app, the password will never work. I've changed my password on this app more than any other app before I noticed what was happening. I'll glady give 5 stars rating if not for that.

This app is very practical and usually reliable. But there is one annoying flaw. Each time the app is updated, it "forgets" my settings for Spending Alerts (which I turned on) forcing me to manually reset that feature. Why does it automatically turn off an important feature like that with each update? Please correct this issue and I would change my rating to 5 stars.

Great service, but the android app doesn't feel as polished as the iOS version. Both could be improved. On Pixel 6, the cards are cropped where they don't look like the Amex cards. Sometimes scrolling down too far triggers the "select a different card" view. On both android and iOS, there is no way to refresh the transactions without navigating away from them.
