Description of Bitcoin Wallet

Have your Bitcoins always with you, in your pocket! You pay by quickly scanning a QR code. As a merchant, you receive payments reliably and instantly. Bitcoin Wallet is a reference implementation of the "Simplified Payment Verification" as described in the Bitcoin whitepaper.


FEATURES

• No registration, web service or cloud needed! This wallet is de-centralized and peer to peer.
• Display of Bitcoin amount in BTC, mBTC and µBTC.
• Conversion to and from national currencies.
• Sending and receiving of Bitcoin via NFC, QR codes or Bitcoin URLs.
• When you're offline, you can still pay via Bluetooth.
• System notification for received coins.
• Sweeping of paper wallets (e.g. those used for cold storage).
• App widget for Bitcoin balance.
• Safety: Supports Taproot, Segwit and the new bech32m format.
• Privacy: Supports Tor via the separate Orbot app.

Good app, but there really needs to be some way to control the fee amount. A low fee is $0.01, it's stuck due to the mempool (61 hours) and when I selected to increase fee, the suggested fee is $18. Surely I should be able to control going from $0.01 to say $1 myself.

Something went wrong during the backup process and I can't retrieve my data although I'm using the correct password. There's nothing in faq about this. I would like some guidance on rectifying the matter quickly and efficiently, thank you.

I woke up to discover this app had sucked down 3.8 GB of mobile data overnight, nearly 2 months' worth for me. I'm sure there are settings you can use to prevent this, but I'd rather use a wallet app that doesn't think there are _any_ circumstances where it's okay to use that much data.

Unreliable. It was good in the past but it's a shaky relic now. Payments not being transmitted, connections rarely being established and frequently dropping. Little choice. Can't tweak transaction fees. Stuck transactions are just too frequent to make this worth using often. Moving any coinage I can out.

Great wallet been using it on my Android for a couple years now. It gives you the option to use a legacy address, which is handy. Recommend backing-up to a cloud account after every transaction. If you don't and lose (or reset) ur phone, the coin will be lost with it. Recovering your wallet if this happens can take along time but you'll eventually get all your transactions back.

Got a new phone and imported a wallet backup from an old one. The phone then started to 'sync' for the next 7 hours, blowing through my mobile data. Unfortunately there was no button to pause or stop the sync. Also, I hope syncing with all this data won't leave it stored on my phone taking a large amount of space.

What's going on with this app? I was using it happily for years, and this morning it sucked over 4 gigs of data until my provider cut me off. A pop-up said that 6 peers are connected. Scary! I backed it up, reinstalled it, but haven't been able to restore the backup.

Doesn't support RBF, HD (BIP44/49/84), export and import seed-phrase.

I was going to install and use this Bitcoin wallet, but seeing so many issues in reviews, missing BTC, missing TXs coupled with a lack of dev response. I'll hard pass! Feel bad for all those missing Bitcoin or stuck d/l'ing 300gb of data. Thank you to all who shared a review.
