I honestly love using YNAB to track my expenses. For those that lack the excel expertise to make a budget sheet or for those that need something a bit more streamlined and convenient, YNAB is the app. I mostly use YNAB on Mobile since it's so easy to see your budget and add transactions on the fly. I do wish the mobile version had the same "Report" features as the desktop version, especially that pie chart. A guy can dream.

Wow the new design is so not user-friendly! I wish I could get my money back. I used YNAB for several years and was able to save a lot of money. I took a break for a little while because I thought I could do just as well without an app (I was wrong). I should have done my homework instead of just going back to YNAB though. Everything is all pretty much the same color (black/grey with white text) that my budget all looks like one block of text - not different categories. Very disappointed.

Really great tool, if expensive. I've started getting a clear view of where my money goes. App should have a way to easily swipe left/right between months to easily compare spending. For the price, we should be able to get more reports on mobile as well. I have never once used the desktop application, and I'd honestly rather not have to; the PC is mostly a work tool for me, and I don't do my budgeting at work. I'd also like to make custom reports.

I would have given the app 5 stars but it kind of took a step backwards. Since the update that changed the way it connects to banks, transactions have been lagging behind for at least a couple of days. It doesn't even display transactions out of one account. And the way it handles investing is convoluted. UPDATE 5/5/2021- I'll be canceling. My accounts haven't updated correctly in almost a year. One of them was never updating. I'll save the money from this subscription cost.

First time user, two issues: 1. Plaid is spotty. It doesn't work at all with my bank and one of my credit cards. This was the killer feature for me. 2. Mobile and desktop versions of YNAB can desync. If I hadn't noticed this right away I would have the complete wrong idea of where my finances were at depending on which version I use. Pretty bad for $15 a month. I still see the potential of YNAB but first impressions don't make me want to pay for it.

so it's a cool idea that needs an undo button or some serious renovation. if you mess up one item it throws everything overboard and you have to start over from scratch. also, don't bother syncing your bank accounts. if you go ahead and put a receipt into your budget ahead of time, the app will hound you to deal with these transactions and will duplicate them (sometimes including every single one you've ever had) throwing your accounts off.

Student Account. So I have the full product. Originally, this app worked great! It's easy to use, takes some time to set up but with the import it made budgeting very easy. If it still worked, I'd stay with it. In August it started only importing once a month from my bank account. I've spoken to support many many times. So I stopped using it which basically meant I stopped budgeting. New year. Now I'm giving it one last chance while I shop for new software. Won't reach out already did for months

Game changer of a budget tool! Took me a long time to understand the ins and outs of using it, but the YNAB youtube videos and newsletter articles were a huge help (and extremely entertaining while still being educational!!). I've now been a fan for years. Support is outstanding: responsive and personalized. I've had only a few issues over the years and each one was handled thoroughly and quickly. App is very stable, never had any issues. This is one annual subscription I'm always happy to pay!

I started out on the desktop app several years ago. For me, this was a new way of thinking about budgeting, so the features were a little weird to get used to at first. The blog posts and videos were really helpful and they improve/create features over time. Any tech issues I've had were addressed on their website before I've ever had to contact customer service. Overall, YNAB has helped me curb unnecessary spending and eliminate a lot of debt. To me, that makes the learning curve worth it.

This is a great companion app to the website. It has a clean interface and is very responsive. It's simple to add transactions and move money around. Syncs quickly with the web version. Would love to see a couple of improvements: more reports and trends like the website has, and widgets which can display various budget categories on your home screen.

Pretty good app. I personally find the difference between "budgeted" and "money available" confusing. But I actually came here to complain about something. If you approve transactions, little bubbles pop up showing the numbers change in your budget. If you have to leave the transactions page and then come back they pop up again! This is such a small thing but it irritates me so much. The bubbles pop up and you have to wait for them to go away before you can continue with your transactions.

I've only been messing with this app for about 8 hours. What does do at the very basic it allows you to see your expenditures verus income. needs minor adjustments. After establishing a credit card in the system. I wanted to re-categorize it as a line of credit. the software would not allow me to delete that credit card completely and re-enter it. It's tedious setting setting it up. It's worth your time. It's an automated spreadsheet for so you can create a budget to follow. 2Thumbs UP

I love the concept and subscibe to the service. However, I'm left wanting much more. The design is dated and somewhat unintuitive which makes me apprehensive budgeting because I need to be conscious of each tap and calculation. I'd love for this to be redesigned with a simpler layout which includes an undo button for when I accidentally over budget, collapsible sections, and quicker syncs to my bank accounts. I want to love this, but right now I'm waiting for a major update or alternative.

The 34 day free trial is perfect for this, I appreciate they let you to give it a real test drive, not just a spin around the block lol When it was time to pay to keep it, it was hassle free & the monthly payment option fit my current budget needs. I'll definitely be saving for full payment next year because it's a pretty big savings if you pay up front. I think the only thing they could improve is better advertising up front of the fact that the full web version has LOTS more functionality.

YNAB is far and away the best budgeting system out there. 1000% worth the cost. I got lost or frustrated with everything else I tried within a couple of months, but now I've been consistent with YNAB for 2 years. The app works smoothly; once in awhile you have to reconnect with your bank, but I think that's very common now with security protocols. Notifications are not intrusive. The interface is super straightforward and makes the method easy. I can't say enough good things about it.

The app is a solid companion to the overall YNAB lifestyle. I have been using old YNAB for a while and switched to the new subscription. Since subscribing for nearly a year at this point there have been few new features released. The biggest new feature has been an API, which is great for software developers, but not so much for paying customers. You cannot YNAB with the app alone. You can not reconcile. The reporting features are a joke. You cannot evaluate your spending with the app. The app is great for data entry on the go. Even budgeting in the app leaves something to be desired with a clunky interface and a non-intuituve method for entry. All in all, a solid start. However it is not a complete product. For $80, a year, I was hoping for more.

It really is a decent budgeting app and was fine for $50/year. However, they have now increased the price to $99/year. I have used YNAB for over 5 years but it is not worth that much. Plan to cancel my subscription. *Edit*: I think the point is that it doesn't need new features. It works fine. No one, especially someone who is struggling with finances, should pay $99 a year for a budgeting application.

There was another price increase and this makes it simply not worthwhile. I enjoyed the pleasant interface and enjoyed the simplicity. I was saddened when they went to the subscription model, I would rather have major versions that we pay a one time upgrade fee. Oh well back to making Excel sheets for me. Thanks for the guidance and I'll miss the software just overpriced for what I am getting.
