Description of spacedesk - display monitor

Turns Android phone, tablet or Chromebook into an advanced extra display for Windows PC and Surface tablets.
Windows Desktop screen content is shown on Android device display.
- Windows Desktop Extension (x10-sion)
- Windows Desktop Duplication (screen mirroring/cloning)

Quick Guide:
1. Install spacedesk DRIVER software for Windows Primary PC (server).
Download: https://www.spacedesk.net
2. Install this app - spacedesk (remote display) app for Secondary Machine (client).
3. Open spacedesk (remote display) app and connect to your Windows Primary PC (server).
 Network connection: Server and client must be on the same LAN and/or WAN.
 Alternative connections:
 - via Mobile Hotspot
 - via USB Tethering
 Note: Does NOT need internet connection!


The Primary Machine (Windows network display server)...
...runs Windows 10 or Windows 8.1. Macs are not supported.
Dual monitor and multi monitor configurations are supported.

The Secondary Machine or Device (Android network display client)...
...is an Android tablet, phone or device running the spacedesk Android app.


The network...
...connects Windows Primary Machine to Secondary Machine or Device over LAN (Local Area Network e.g. Ethernet) and/or WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network).
Network connection can be wired or over WiFi. TCP/IP network protocol is required.

I would give it a five star rating, but recently i started facing a problem, Whenever i open the app the app slides to black window as if it is connecting to another device, even though iam not connected to ant device or network, i tried the troubleshooting site you sent me earlier, but i couldn't fix the problem.

1) It's free! 2) It works both wired or wirelessly! 3) It allows input from your client device (eg Android tablet) 4) It even allows audio output to your client device!

First, it was outstanding the first day. Since then, it won't connect at all. Second, have to manually connect everytime. But then again, first point. It won't connect.

Awesome app, but they need to add support for more than 60 FPS, I'd like to take advantage of my 90 Hz phone for example.

The application has a bug with picture proportions. The image is always compressed by the height of the status bar. Because of this any squares become rectangles. For example in my case (op10pro) a square with side 1080pix is displayed on the phone screen as a rectangle 1080*1038. Changing the resolution has no effect on the problem.

It's an one of excellent app I have seen it is worth to download. But just one problem that anyone can access your laptop with just this app if they connected to same network of your laptop. I am looking for an update about this from developers in future.

Its a good application and is useful. The only other challenge is that if you use the cell phone as a secondary screen the image on the phone is too small. It would be great if the team could add zoom feature for users using this on a mobile phone. I mean to add the pinch in and pinch out feature. Overall, great work done by the team!

Works pretty well as intended with Windows. But, I do hope you write Linux arm driver soon. Being able to use your phone or tablet as primary display (over usb-c) for a Raspberry Pi would take this app to a whole new level.

Update: Thank you for help me resolve this issue, you was right, the promblem is on the PC side. It's still strange because I never use connect via usb feature. Now it work perfectly like normal again.

It's a great app for Android making the second screen or multiple display. But you can improve it by adding more features. Feature like Mouse slider, broad resolution options. Keyboard. Etc.

I'm using this app on both my windows 11 PC and an unused android phone which is tethered via USB inside my PC case. The phone is clearly visible through the case side window and by sending system system data via Aida64 to the phone I can easily check performance or any potential issues etc. With the most recent update v1.0.73 any small bugs seem to have been removed. Great app great developers. Thank you.

Connection is fast and disconnect delay is great feature. But the way the cursor retains its last position instead of following where the pen hovers while zooming in drawing softwares is weird. And also lack of s-pen button support and can't turn on/off touch input on the fly. So I still find myself using superdisplay for drawing tasks which it does without problem.

A great screen sharing app, the ui is a bit limited but you don't need to spend much time in it so that doesn't matter. Keep your expectations in check when it comes to performance; you can connect using USB and or Bluetooth but the primary connection method is wifi which is known for not being the best when streaming input and output.

Works better than expected. Some things that i would love to have: * Ability to move / open windows to / on the phone "monitor". I can imagine that this would take quite some (maybe an unreasonable amount of) effort, but should certainly be possible. * Low resolution option with the correct phone display ratio. The native resolution is too high for streaming, and the lowres alternative has a wrong ratio. * An interface with some keyboard shortcuts. Arrows, F#, etc This app is seriously great.

currently experiencing bugs now. when i open the app, it automatically goes to black screen as if it is connected to something but not. when i try to Disconnect it, it closes the app. i can't check the menu nor the settings. i can only connect normally through USB when the app auto launch. i can't connect through Wifi because of the bug. i already reinstalled and clear data but still the same. edit: it got suddenly fixed. but the bug still happen sometimes.

Wireless it works, but man is it really choppy. Wired mode using USB tethering is amazing for like a minute until it blue screens my computer. - I searched online for fixes and it's even addressed on the spacedesk website so they are aware of this. - I tried all their fixes they suggested and it didn't work. - Hopefully they fix this because it would make this a perfect app.
