Great app for watching foreign movies and shows. There are a BUNCH of ads, but also to be expected as the service is free. The only malfunction I've encountered so far is during the ads, only the audio works leaving the screen black. Ads that are otherwise skipable aren't whenever this occurs and the speed freak inside me is annoyed to have to sit through a 2 minute ad.

This is a far fetched idea but... There should be an option to watch all the ads at the beginning, so there's no ads in between the video to ruin the experience. I've seen many apps/games make it so that the person can't exit the ads, so they'd still have to watch it. Boom! Profit is earned, the moment is not ruined, and... viewers are satisfied! Also, I understand that there is a payment option for AD free videos, but some people can't afford it. It seems crazy but would be quite convenient!

Such a good app. The subtitles are accurate and have a lot of languages. I fall in love with most of the content. But, way too many shows/movies are Viki Pass or Viki Pass Plus. A lot of my favorites are becoming Pass-only which gets super frustrating. Having a Pass Plus option is unfair to those of us that don't want to spend $100 a year on an app to just watch shows. Additionally, the ads have been super long, recently, and almost over 2 minuted. Otherwise, the content is great.

Amazing app. Except for the extremely irritating ads, this app does a great job of posting the videos and subtitles. There are some bugs that still need to be fixed. (1) Viki app restarts everytime we pause a video and access some other app. (2) Viki app randomly switches between portrait and landscape mode, and it is one of it most annoying features. 2019/11/12: Home screen doesn't allow selection of dramas based on countries. Extremely frustrating. Also unable to flip thru top shows. Sigh.

I love this app and have used both the website and app a lot over the past 2 years, and I DO NOT have an issue with the adds. But the ads more recently have become a problem, because once in a while they get stuck and won't load or play. Even exiting out of the app multiple times doesn't remedy the issue. If this glitch were fixed, I'd update my review to 5 stars happily!!

I never write reviews for anything, but this app has begun to be too much. I've used this app for over a year, and for free, so the ads and quality didn't bother me too much. But for the past few days, the ads have just been freezing/buffering...and that's it. I exit the app and go back in, I restart my device, I've tried everything. But I can't make it past the ads anymore, which means I can't watch anything anymore. The app has basically become unusable for me :/

I love this app but the subtitles tend to disappear and then reappear through out the shows. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled, turned off the subtitles and let it play for a little bit then turned them back on. It's just annoying because then those who don't speak the languages don't know what's going on. Please fix. Other then that, amazing app and would definitely recommend

Edit: reducing to one star because I can't even get through a single episode anymore without it completely freezing. I don't mind having ads however the ads in this app ruin the experience. They constantly freeze to where I have to back out and reopen the episode. The most times my spot isn't saved so I have to figure out where I was while hoping the new set of ads doesn't freeze again. This is the main thing keeping me from a subscription. Why pay for an experience like this?

The selection of shows are great, but the ads make it unbearable. If you don't buy the pass, you are forced to watch 9 ads spread throughout the episode. Some series require you to spend money. Then there's also the problem that something went wrong in the middle of the video. It forces me to watch 2-3 extra ads to continue watching, but then it does it every few minutes, so I'm watching over 20 ads just to get through one episode. Terrible.

One of the current on-air shows I am following, repeatedly is having subtitles missing. I have to exit the app on my Roku, go back in multiple times. If it's bad enough, I'll start watching on my phone and have to go back and forth. Another thing that has me annoyed is my watch history completely disappeared. Viki has a lot of work to do to become more user friendly and consistent- I'm paying for a the subscription! Nowhere near as good as dramafever was.

App wont work. It worked for the first 2 episodes I watched but then the next episode just went black. I could hear the audio and see the subtitles but the screen is all black. I tried other dramas and shows but nope. It says it doesnt work and they're trying to fix it. But then after a while I come back and then it's the same audio and subtitles work but the screen is black. I tried restarting my phone and uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works.

The movies are good, but the ads are outrageous. If you accidentally leave the app and come back in a matter of seconds, you will have to watch a three ads each 30sec. If you rewind you have to watch three ads or more that are about 30sec. If my phone turns off for 1 sec I have to watch 3 ads. It is frustrating 😤. I started using this app 20 minutes ago and found something wrong with it. Atleast the ads should have skips.

The app is great, I don't mind not having premium and the ads are no problem to me. But the ads become a problem on the website, I've used the app on and off for about 2 years or so and always experience the same problem with the website on my laptop. There are more ads and the website stops running after the ads, to continue watching I have to refresh the whole site and its just such an inconvenience. Watching on a bigger screen is nice but I have to stick to my phone to avoid that problem.☹

I enjoy the app and not much is bothering me. The only major quality that is so annoying is that suddenly, everytime I have to see an ad, I can't. It says I have something called "ad blocker" on and it just blacks out the screen. I don't and I have never had the app before. I went to see how to "disable it" but there's not app to disable. Please help me and fix this issue, it is very annoying as ads don't come once or twice in every episode.

I've use Viki before because it offers great shows that are hard to find elsewhere, but I grew frustrated because of the poor quality of the app. After hearing that it underwent a upgrade, I gave it another go. Sadly, It seems as if only the layout of the app was upgraded. The glitches are still a huge issue; especially the feature for the next episode to play right after the other. You have to manually pick the episode each time, which defeats the purpose of the 'Auto Play' feature.

It was an amazing app. Free and subscription content were awesome. If a show is worth watching, I subscribe just to watch that show, for instance, the magnificent Flower of Evil. Then there was an update. Is it an update if it completely ruins the user interface and experience? There was nothing wrong with the app before, nothing to fix. I've been checking to see if anything's changed but nope, same horrible UI. Edit: Viki is fixed! It's back! It's wonderful again!

It's a good app to watch the shows or movies you'd like to watch but it does have some problems to it. The ads for example are the problem because whenever I'm in the middle of watching a episode a ad pops up and not just one ad, but 2-4. Because of the ads, it makes the episode longer and tiresome. Not only that but the ads have the same ads EVERYTIME. Right now I've been getting this one ad in particular. It's non stop! After it's done it starts AGAIN. I also complain of the comment section.

I love the app, and all the dramas on it. But it always freezes up after the ads. I've tried restarting, uninstalling and restarting and different internet networks but it's always the same. Usually about halfway through every episode, the ads will play, and then the screen just goes black. It doesn't come back on either. I left and did housework for an hour and when I came back the screen was still black. It's pretty annoying to only be able to watch half an episode a day.
