This is a great app, I've been using it for years. It's a nicely organized and detailed version of the site; half the movies in my cognitive catalog would not be there if not for it. It works very well despite occasional hiccups. It does have one big issue, and only for select users like me - when drafting a review there is no way to save it. If you tend to write longer, more detailed reviews, you could lose them at any moment and they cannot be salvaged. It's frustrating - please fix.

Granted I haven't been using the app very long, but so far, I am unimpressed. I've been using the website and mobile site for so long that maybe this doesn't seem as convenient. My biggest specific complaint is that you can be writing a review and if you move your phone and the screens flips from vertical to horizontal (or vice versa), it wipes everything clean and you can't get any of it back. I resent having to lock my screen just to put in a review.

I love imdb itself, and the app is functional. There are some missing features that would make it more useful though: for instance you can view the country a movie was made in, but you apparently can't then click that to browse other movies from that country? I want the ability to browse by country and by language, the same way you can browse by genre. This would be q huge improvement, I think the app would at least double in usefulness to me. The other major things: the home button should be accessible on every page, you shouldn't have to back out of numerous pages before navigating back to one where you can hit the home button. It would also be really helpful to be able to view friends' profiles or even browse random users' public lists (otherwise why have the option to make public), but ESPECIALLY a share function on lists. I want to be able to easily share a link to, say, my film wishlist, that seems like a pretty basic function.

I'm agreeing with Bob below. The interface is ridiculous, it's not user friendly at all. And the other problem I'm having is that the audio... is never in sync with video. I love IMBD for having better shows than my paid apps. 4 folders at beginning with MOVIES, TV, FAVORITES, & CONT' WATCHING, would be ideal; interface with genres in each folder.

The redesign that puts the search button on the bottom, but keeps the search bar up top is absolutely DUMB. Such a waste of time having to reach all the way down, then all the way up, then back down to the keyboard. It's extremely unintuitive. It makes me seriously consider uninstalling despite being one of my oldest longest running apps.

For months it has been very slow, won't open and freezes. I've been using the browser instead. I contacted costumer service. Their response was they constantly work on it to improve it. It doesn't seem it's working though. I may need to contact Jeff Bezos. After all, the app went downhill after Amazon bought it. I'm going to uninstall it because it's basically useless.

The IMDB website has been the go-to movie fact source for decades. But the app, though it has all the same data, needs work. It can be difficult to navigate. Sometimes, for me, it's even hard to figure out how to do a basic search! Very intrusive and distracting advertisements for movies you would never want to see, as well!

Latest update broke the app. Crashes every time you try to search anything. If you reopen and get a search through, it crashes on the next thing you click, and so on. Worst of all, search takes more clicks because it was removed from landing page. I only used this app because it was faster than searching in a browser - that's no longer the case. I uninstalled. Please fix and I'll consider downloading again.

I use the app mainly for watching shows. Nice to be able to watch shows for free. Ads aren't ridiculous. My biggest complaint is sometimes when you turn your phone, or minimize the app, then it will just randomly take you back an episode or two and will reset your watch history on the episode you were on. So you have to start it over and rewatch all the ads again when you fast forward to the part you left off on.

I use this app a lot. Used to run super smooth until recently, now takes awhile to get going, 15-20 seconds. MORE IMPORTANT: Was watching a trailer today, and tried to go back to homepage. App froze, and I got a weird loud high-pitched tone, like an emergency alert and my phone shut down!! Also, app couldn't find a series I just finished watching. I wanted to rate and put on my list.

New Update = Terrible When you look up an episode it no longer has my ratings listed so I don't know what I've watched at a glance (which is a feature I use a lot). Instead, it has pictures next to the titles which spoiled a major twist in the show I was watching. I don't find it to be as user friendly as it was before and this was a go to app I used a lot. It's a lot less user friendly than it used to be. Maybe there are some nice new features, but all I found was complications.

This was never a well designed app but at least it worked. Now the UI is just beyond horrible. It's an outright disaster. Write a review and you can't see the text because the keyboard covers all. Huge ads. Navigation bar moved to the bottom. Clearly they favor pushing trailers and 'What to watch' over search which is what most people come here for. And the responses to negative reviews sound like a broken record. It's a mess and simply painful to deal with. Enough. Uninstalled.

I've used this app daily for years. I have lists of my favorite shows saved on the app and I'm always using it to see who actors are and what else they've been in when binging old shows. I love this app. It hasn't worked, however, since the last update. It keeps freezing up and I can't access my lists or anything else. I'm so bummed!!! PLEASE FIX IT!

Works but it's SUPER buggy. If you just plan on looking up a movie or actor, you're fine. It's when you decide to do something like leave a review or some trivia, etc. that the fun begins. Depending upon the apps mood, the ability to add trivia, goofs or a review may or may not be available. Sometimes none are available, sometime one or two, sometime all. It's never the same. Even if it is, often times trying will just lead to a blank page. This has been going on a while.

Less than impressed by the new update. It crashes too often, and it no longer opens up to where you left off at earlier. It keeps starting on a 'Home' page. I liked the older version better. IMDB is still a highly useful app for any kind of movie info. I use it many times a day for looking up info while I am watching TV or movies.

App works great! Almost as well as the computer version. The only thing I don't like about the app is that it doesn't show at a glance the specific episodes of TV shows different actors were in on their filmography, where the computer does show this. You have to go through the cast list for each individual episode if you want to find that out. For this one flaw, I would rate the app as 4.95/5 if possible. Overall, the app is amazing and works wonderfully.

More ads than all of Google. This used to be a great app until Amazon bought it, now all they try to do is break records for how many ads you can put on one page. Ads constantly getting in the way of everything you try to do with the app. If Amazon can't make money without destroying a good app with ads, at least put them at the bottom of each page instead of in the middle of everything. The UI isn't that bad except for the ads.

Why did they break this app for absolutely no reason? IMDB has probably been my most used app since the beginning of smart phones. After latest update, they ruined it. First, it's constantly freezing and crashing. But I get it, bugs happen sometimes. What's not excusable, is changing the search box method. Instead of clicking search bar which brings up the keyboard, I now have to select search at the bottom, then click the search bar at the top. It's obnoxious and pointless.
