The Maxident
Love the selection of shows and movies to watch but the app itself is trash. It causes my pixel 7 to freeze up to the point where I have to restart my phone. On my TV, it won't let me skip intros, and often runs into the, " We are having trouble connecting to Crunchyroll" error. When will streaming services start working on the apps themselves. I mean you get $10 from every person with a subscription, how about use some of that money to fix your broken ish.

With every update you guys put out the app seems to get worse and worse. My synced episodes won't play, sometimes the screen will not let me push anything and when I close the app the audio is still playing in the background so I have to turn off my phone. The same goes for the PlayStation app as well as the Xbox. Your app doesn't seem to work right on any platform.

It's such a glitchy App, I don't know how they can release this in it's current state. I'm getting 250Mbps down and 15 up, but it takes over a minute to load any video. While it's loading, it basically freezes the app so you can't go back. You just HAVE to wait, or close the app. I have a 1Plus 10 Pro. This isn't quality. I've tried clearing the cache and reinstalling. Still slow. I use the website, perfectly fine. It's just the app.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but the "Sync all" option appears to be missing. Been paying for my plan for almost a year now and never had a problem with the app. I just dunno if that mechanic is bugged for not showing up or I'm just dreaming. I'm just not a fan of downloading 1 episode at a time for offline viewing and prefer to do everything in one go. No problems again whatsoever just a little insight I was giving out!

Crunchyroll itself, is great. The app, not so much. It often fails to load the next episode correctly and requires the app to be closed and restarted. Sometimes the WiFi will drop for a second, and the app doesn't handle that well, either. It often requires a restart or two to bounce back from that. I'll rate it higher if they fix some of these issues.

The ads often repeat itself in endless loops. If it's, for example, 3/5 ads, sometimes, it will replay the same 3rd ad and be stuck there... It does not move onto the 4th ad. I have to exit, then wind it back to where I was, which gives me more ads... I've only noticed this problem on TV, but it's still annoying. I know this has been a problem for a long time now... developers of Crunchyroll, please fix it.

Broken after the latest update. It used to work fine but after updating the video player is an unusable glitchy mess. Where to even begin? Audio, video, and subtitles are all out of sync from eachother. There's constant stuttering and freezing. There's a 5-6 second delay between when you hit a button and when it responds to being hit, which seems to literally be a delay and not the result of freezing. Browsing for the anime still works fine, it's just the video player that's completely busted.

Love crunchyroll, been a subscriber for years. However, I've been getting tons of errors on the phone app, on the web page, and on the ps5 app. Watching a show, then it will just stop playing and give me the "oops something went wrong" screen. Usually resolved next day, but when all I want to do is watch an episode of something before bed, new or not, and am met with errors? It gets frustrating, especially when it's at least once a week. Honestly, debating if the cost is worth it.

When you are on wifi the app is great. The problem is it never works for more than a episode, if you are on mobile data. A 23 minute episode, will take an hour to watch because it can't hold a connection. It is the only app that I have like it. also, if you pause and lock your phone, when you open the phone back up to watch the anime. The picture will be stuck tiny in the top left and you have to restart the app, or it will randomly start playing in your pocket while the screen is locked.

Good selection, poor interface. If you want to watch English-dubbed anime, Japanese text in the videos does not get translated. You have to change the audio to Japanese in order to activate English subtitles. Some anime series have a LOT of text that needs translating, so you sometimes find yourself going back and forth between audio modes every couple minutes. Irritating. When my wife and I sent them an email, their response was "thanks for the feedback" with a read-between-the-lines "too bad."

Wether I am using 5G, at home with wifi connection, or anywhere that I can use some sort of service, this app drops the ball when it comes to playing anything. More than half the time I use it, it just freezes and restarts the episodes for no given reason. Restarting does nothing and only after awhile does it fixes itself. Beyond irritating, and will drop the app after my free trial ends.

This app has a great selection. If you can even watch it. I have premium and I've been trying to watch a show but no matter how great connection I have it ends up buffering for so long it's not even worth it. And when I tried downloading it that didn't help. The downloads don't even work. I'll end up downloading the show but when I go to watch it I get a quarter way through and then it puts up a buffering screen until you connect to wifi in order to keep watching it. This needs to be fixed.

A terrible video watching experience. Videos buffer like no other, there are no on screen subtitles for the Japanese text, and if you use the Amazon TV version, you can expect a world of frustration. All problems stated are worse, with the added bonus of pixelated images every other use. Also a lot of phone app features are nowhere to be seen on the TV version. Better streaming services like Netflix, Hulu even Funimation work with no problem. There are more problems that wont fix into my review.

It has a great title selection with most animes you could think of in my experience and it has discounts for the ones who actually like buying merch. I used to love this app. And I still do but it's not what it was before. Losing the ability to cast to other devices was a downer but manageable since I could just use screen mirroring but lately I've been having problems with multiple series being stuck on the loading screen including the ones I have downloaded for offline viewing

Not a major issue, but the language preference doesnt seem to effect anything anymore. The available languages is also missing from series details now, so we have to play an episode and then see if its in other languages. Like i said, not huge, but definitely a QOL issue for casual and new users. Also might make it harder for people to appreciate the hard work studios, va's, and yall put in and find new shows. Thanks

The service itself works great on desktop, but on mobile videos always stutter and constantly pause to load no matter how good the connection. I recommend just using Crunchyroll on a PC instead. Edit: Lowering to 1 star. Had multiple newer phones and the app has had multiple updates and it STILL doesn't work AT ALL. You can look through menus but trying to load any anime results in an infinite loading screen. Not worth even downloading onto your device. Just watch via their website.

This app needs work. It has a great catalog of shows, and it's easily the best way to watch anime. That being said, it buffers a lot. For some reason, it even buffers my offline videos. They recently put out the ability to cast, and now that's been taken away. This app would easily be my favorite if the connection issues weren't so common. When it doesn't work the way you hope it will, it can be very frustrating. Even more so because this is the easiest way to watch all the anime you want.

I'm a fan of crunchyroll the service, but the app still needs a lot of work: (1) PiP mode to run in the background, (2) don't stop the video when opening options, (3) add speed controls, (4) add Japanese subtitles. You are currently running a promotion for language learning but the app doesn't have Japanese subtitles. Consider partnering with apps that focus on language learning with videos/anime
