Description of HMRC

The only app to access your personal tax details with HMRC. Take control of your finances and join over 700,000 people using the HMRC app every month. Download the HMRC app from the UK Government here.

The Self Assessment payment deadline is 31 January. Use the HMRC app to make your payment easily. You can approve a payment to come straight from your bank account.

Use the HMRC app to:

- check your next salary payment from your employer
- check how much you owe on your Self Assessment and make a payment
- check your next tax credit payments
- find your tax code(s)
- find out how much Income Tax you should pay
- manage and renew your tax credits
- access your Help to Save account
- work out your take-home pay with the tax calculator
- claim a refund if you’ve paid too much tax
- check progress on forms you have sent to HMRC
- read messages from HMRC

You can use your Government Gateway account to sign in. If you don’t have one, registration is easy and fast. You will need your National Insurance number and birth date to start.

Once you’re set up, you can sign in quickly and securely using your face, fingerprint or iris (depending on device support).

The app is hostile to password managers by clearing the login form when switching to and from the password manager. Had to use the website instead of the app to be able to log in.

I can't login to the app. App is asking to Update the App from Google store but the store doesn't show any update. Its running in loop. Please fix that asap.

it's very hard to find SA302's from previous years would help having every possible document associated with the account all in one place so you can pick what you want with ease.

Confused . Just downloaded the app and all it seems to do is take you to the Gateway site?? What's the point of the App if this is all it does ir am I mistaken.

Hateful App Can't really do anything with this app as redirects you to website, where it seems you can do very little either. Someone probably getting paid a fortune to 'design' this app. Kind of a basic thing and yet seemingly impossible for them to do. Clearly created by someone who hates humanity

It used to be simple but not anymore! Clearly IT systems are still changing/merging & being updated/simplified but at the moment it's in a mess and is in urgent need of being sorted out. It's difficult to tell if I'm using the app or have been redirected to the website e.g. when filling in a tax return. This confusion is compounded by asking for gateway ID, login ID, access codes, passwords, etc at various points of the process! VERY confusing.

Full of bugs on the log in screen as well the verification screen is probably easy to abuse but I see a lot of potential. I am still exploring the application
