the new ui is incredibly unintuitive, especially when compared to the old ui. things that previously took 1 or 2 button presses to do now take 3 or 4, and *all* of the buttons have changed locations and shapes. the look of the ui is worse, too. it went from sleek, utilitarian, and unique to looking like a cheap texting app slapped together in a week by people who don't use discord.

Wow, Discord has implemented so many customizable profile settings and improved the call and video quality. Edit: This update completely overhauled my previous review. It's a whole new hurdle just to see information that was previously clear and simple to find, such as the member's list in a server and friends online under the DMs tab. As a previous comment started, the app of Discord was supposed to reflect the desktop version, but now it's a mirror of other chat apps, taking out originality.

The app itself works for the most part but far too often my friends and I have issues with the app even connecting. It'll be stuck on Connecting even with stable internet. Randomly midcall someone will start sounding like a robot and we've had to just start making normal phone calls again. I've been using the app for some years on multiple phones and the issues with the discord app have only become more common. Vc option is questionable but posting, download, upload, text all works well :)

Lots if the updates that keep coming out seem more focused on making the app look cool rather than actual function. For example, all out have to do is accidentally hold and release the send button to send a voice message. I just butt-recorded 10 seconds of myself sobbing about my dead cat to a discord server because I didn't realize my phone was still unlocked. This is one of a few changes I've seen as an older user that I am not enjoying.

This thing is straight-up broken. I am just left on the booting up screen permanently. It's absolutely god-awful and now I can't even use the app since this new update email to change the u i that never needed to be changed. If it isn't broke don't fix it. Overall some really dumb decisions were made with this app recently and it made it horrible to use it crashes and freezes and that's even if you can open up the app and load it is most tired is stuck on the loading screen infinitely.

As others have stated, VERY buggy as of late. I recall awhile back, the app's developers had... quote "taken steps to improve the launch times of the app". However... after seeing how many times I've had to CLOSE AND REOPEN THE APP just to make it WORK PROPERLY... I'd rather go back to the super long startup time! Please consider this! The "need for speed" has caused the reply function to break, channels to not load/freeze, and messages to be sent with incorrect formatting/unexpected newlines!

Guys. You have to fix this layout update. I've never had problems with discord in the last few years I've used it- it's actually been my go-to platform. It was a safe haven from the platforms that kept becoming unusable/not user friendly. But after finally giving in and installing the October 2023 update, it became difficult, buggy, and generally stunk. Beware discord mobile users.

I like the app but a new update just came out that made the layout on mobile awful. I've read the help center, I've looked at the stuff they point you to and I just want the old layout back. I want be able to swipe and see my channel lists. I don't like the new update the layout has been the same the whole time I've been using it and now it's hard to navigate.

I love using this app, even with the bugs and glitches I thought it was manageable at least. I can type and text with people fine enough, but the voice call feature keeps completely breaking sometimes. It keeps saying I'm connecting still or no route, disconnecting and reconnecting, or straight up crashing and app and disconnecting mid-call. Please stop making fun cosmetic updates and work on fixing bugs 🙏 My internet on my phone is just fine. I have never had this issue before until recently.

It made me verify my phone number for no reason, even though I don't meet any of the 'suspicious activity' on the support site. There are also no customization or profile settings whatsoever. I don't want random chat services saving my personal phone number. You don't have the right to that information. -edit- LOL. the profile icon is actually near invisible upon creating an account and it's impossible to see unless the brightness is turned all the way up. Who designed that?

Once upon a time, I could see large amounts of channels at once and only had to scroll on the biggest servers I'm on. I could also see a large numbers of servers on the same screen as the many channels. After an update, I now get a few channels on the screen and a few servers on the screen and have to scroll a ton even on the tiniest servers. The new UI leaves half the space on my screen unused as spacing just to make sure I can't see very much at once. It's terrible.

Buggy AF for months. And yes, i have done all of the troubleshooting. I've un-installed and reinstalled. I am constantly having trouble with the mobile version. I have read the articles. I have followed all of the suggested troubleshooting. And i still have difficulty on stable wifi to maintain a healthy connection, to receive notifications on time, to load messages and see images. I have to restart the app over and over again and hope that works. It doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or mobile data.

I've actually just read a few reviews where people dislike the new UI and how buggy it is, but unlike their close minded selves, I find it stylish and interesting. If it is possible, please just make a "THEME" option to change the UI style and some other smaller features, or even make a whole UI customization flat. Thanks for the update guys, it really is going to bring some new interests to discord! 😃 Keep it up. EDIT: I just found out that I can change it back to old style in appearance. 😅

Update: My issue was fixed a while ago, and I'm just now returning my review to 5 stars. I'm having an issue with Discord on Android where the view window for the text I am typing is not scrolling down to keep my continuing message within view while I type it out. I constantly have to scroll down with each line, which places the cursor in random spots, and complicates things. This is the only issue I'm having with this otherwise great app, but it's a very very annoying problem to have.

Re-write: My buddy stole my phone and wrote a goofy (joke) one-star review. I would rate this app to be pretty good. There are very few issues technically. Performance is typically good unless they inform us that we should go outside when the servers crash (ha!). However, on a more quality-of-life note, I do wish we could stream faster than 30fps for free. Since 30fps is the limit it, like V-sync is not always reached and as a result sharing things with friends is often negatively impacted.

I have had great experiences with Discord, it has little to no bugs, it's easily accessible, profile customization is pleasing to the eye and quiet easy, and communication with other people is a lot more fun. I really love all the things you can do with the servers. My favorite feature is the status, it shows your friends what you're playing/listening to and it can be easily deactivated if you want more privacy.

The app is okay. It does it's best but it also has a lot of issues. I will get notifications and the messages won't load on my phone, but they will on my desktop. I also will edit servers and they will not update for WEEKS on my app. It's annoying and unreliable when this is my main mode of communication with friends and even family. I am highly active in all of my servers and even a mod in a few.

I love discord as an app, lots of glitches and bugs but that's to be expected. What I hate is this new name feature. It takes ALL of the creativity and uniquity out of the app and makes it Just like every other texting app in the universe. Put the numbers back, it wasn't that hard to remember 4 digits. Especially if you paid to change them to something easier to remember. But literally, no one asked for you to take away customization features. 500 characters is clearly not enough.
