Update: the app is starting to have issues sending emails. Ive had one in the outbox for two hours. If an email app can't email, what is it meant to do? The app can't load old emails and will crash if you try. Searching emails is notoriously slow and often the "load more results" button is solely for show. It takes liberties in what emails to show you when looking at all inboxes. The app is slow to sync, it's faster to open a browser.

I cant send an email. Its constantly telling me it failed, but the only way I know that is by looking at that actual email. It does not notify me if it failed. So if one were to send an email, then close out the app. You would think it sent, when in fact it did not. FIX THIS also, why cant I just hit a resend tab or something??? Nothing of the sort exists.

Good app. I recently linked all of my email accounts to Gmail and it does a better job at filtering out the spam than outlook. I searched through every single page but could not find one. You need to update your web app to better support the other webmail clients when I try to link it because it just takes all of my mail and doesn't leave a copy for now. Thanks

I get a notification that I have a new email. I tap the notification. It goes to open it, then vanishes. Email is nowhere to be seen. I do a search for it, and the search AUTOCOMPLETES THE TITLE OF THE EMAIL. Then it tells me there's no results. I'm going to move completely away from Google. The search engine blows and the email is clearly completely unreliable. EDIT: Wow what a cool URL, too bad in their infinite wisdom Google Play disabled people from copying text from here. How useful.

Starting a couple days ago, when I search there is a "Top Results" section at the top. It's horrible. When i search, I want to see all matches in chronological order. Top Results just confuses things. So I dove through the settings and couldn't find a toggle to disable it, and found no solution when I searched the web. What even are the criteria for making something a Top Result? Based on what I've seen in my searches it seems arbitrary.

Edit: it is indeed fixed now. One thing I would love to see them add would be the ability to add and remove folders. // My outlook randomly needed credentials. It kept saying it's wrong despite changing the password multiple times and being able to sign in on the webpage instead of the app. I uninstalled to update and 2 Hotmail and 1 Outlook worked, however the most important Outlook will not work. I've been noticing more issues with the app in the last few months and it's very frustrating.

Hello, I can access my emails but when I click on any of them to read, the screen goes off and a message saying "Gmail keeps stopping" comes up and gives me 3 options to click on being either "app info", "close app" and "send feedback". If you know what is going on and would be kind enough as to be able to respond to this message/feedback to help me stop this happening, then it would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I use this app on a daily basis as I use my phone as my primary electronic communication device. It works ok for me - for sending, receiving etc, but I find it frustrating that the app doesn't let me do things such as create filters. The app does what it does well, but could offer so much more and be really useful. Also, I've noticed that spam often reappears after emptying the folder and that the trash folder can show an item count, when in fact it's empty. Annoying.

Usually great, if sometimes a bit slow. Unfortunately the last few days, I can view my emails in the inbox, delete, mark as read/unread etc, however being able to actually open the emails and read them on my mobile just results in an infinite loading screen. Tested on 2 different WiFis as well as my own Data, with no effect. On my Chromebook, using the browser, Gmail works just fine. So it's certainly an issue with the application itself. Horrible. I have been using gmail for like over a decade now, and I'm really disappointed. I can't receive any new gmail notifications on my phone unless i physically open the app, and then it will show. Because of this, i have missed out on so many important emails. I have gone through the troubleshooting methods that was suggested, and nothing works, syncing, managing labels, allow notifications, everything, but it doesn't work. This has been going on for a month now, and i need serious help!

I love the neat UI. Push Notification has been improved from last time. However, I think it would be best if you can give us the ability to "Mark as Read" straight from notification panel and then the option to customize 3 buttons instead of 2 in the notification panel. Would be huge time saving features. So for now it stays 3 stars for me. Thanks

It worked fine when it worked. Then it stopped giving me notifications until after I opened the app. As if that's useful. Then, one day the app just wouldn't open anymore. It just stays on the loading page indefinitely. I've waited a couple of weeks and have had to switch to the Samsung email app to take care of important email related work while away from my desk. I'm now deleting this app as it's just taking up space.

I have to open the app in order to get notifications, despite having battery optimizations turned off and the app allowed to run in the background. In addition the app will "queue" an email to be sent and not send it for upwards of a week without telling me. I tried to send an important email and a week later I find out it was "queued" that whole time. Don't have the popup say "sent" if it wasn't "sent".

The app has been flawless for years. Easy to use, easy to find things, small limitations for app reasons weren't a bother. As of this weekend, the app presorts my inbox its own way. It doesn't show me my inbox, but it instead forces the Promotions, Social, etc folders inconsistantly. These folders aren't sorted in any meaningful way either, leaving things constantly unseen. Awful and discouraging. Edit: I was able to fix it, but don't appreciate my setting being changes w/o notification. Ty.

I haven't been able to even open Gmail app in a week. I've updated it, deleted & redownload it, forced stopped it, cleared cache and nothing. It gets stuck on the loading screen and won't open. Absolutely useless app if it doesn't work. Even posted as a question on support page and no response. Can't report the problem bc I can't get into the app. Save yourselves the trouble and use browser instead.

Same problem as Sandy and apparently others as well. Google has definitely changed something and will not fix it. App constantly syncs and will not accept new mail or send new emails as well. Even after the suggested fixes listed, it assumes that we are the problem, checking settings and resetting the app or deleting data which is the whole point of having an app in the first place. Doubt anything will change but if it does, I'd be much happier!

The latest update stopped Gmail from downloading my work email. On vacation, when I needed it, the update ruined its basic functionality of downloading emails. All the pop server info is the same. I didn't change a thing. It just doesn't load new emails. I can send emails, but not receive. I'm very disappointed.

I don't know when it started, but for over a month, notifications for new mail come in late, or not at all, until I open this app, thanks to one of your updates that causes it. Redirecting everyone that's leaving a bad review to the support forum leads to no fixes of an issue your developers caused on three of my phones.... One of them being a Pixel! One of your own products!
