Love this app & goal, works nearly as well as Google. My only suggestion is to add a bit more shortcuts, like an Ecosia calculator so you don't have to go into website. Another suggestion is to add a quick answer, where an answer to a search is immediately answered without even going into a website. Other than those two things, it's great.

Been using ecosia for about a year & feel so good about it. What's not to like? Especially when the alternatives are search engines that are for-profit, aren't actively working to save the planet, and are doing non-stop surveillance on you? I get all the results I want or need with ecosia & they are doing great things with the ad revenue. It's a no-brainer. Get ecosia.

I switched from duckduckgo to ecosia and I'm glad I did. My searches plant trees, for free! They don't use targeted ads, just nonintrusive ads based on your search terms. There's a lot more privacy than google chrome. And whatever issues that previous reviews were complaining about must have been resolved in a recent update because I've had no issues with the app being slow or crashing.

very nice search engine, i would say it's almost on par with chrome. there's just a couple of things missing: such as when i look up the definition of something it won't pop up with the definition, i have click on tje link to the dictionary. it's missing little google shortcuts like that. but, if you're cool with that you should definitely switch.

Great cause and will continue to use but needs significant updates to address daily crashing and improvement overall on search results. Sometimes there are "quick view" answers to searches and other times not. Ex: When searching for "LeBron James age" I am forced to scroll through recent news and links in order to get to his Wikipedia. Whereas other browsers provide the answer directly in a small window before the searches. This saves so much time and hassle and I would love to see this feature!

I love it! Feels great to know that you're helping the planet, even if it's a tiny contribution! Love the new adblocker, it doesn't allow adding filter lists as shown in the preview screenshot tho! Please add it ASAP. One more thing, bottom URL bar is the way to go as smartphones keep getting bigger. Please add an option for that too.

I'd give a higher rating, but there seems to be a recurring issue with the browser where it shows a horribly flashy, staticky webpage, especially when I scroll down, that I have to fiddle with a lot to get it to go away. Extremely disorienting. Everything else seems to go smoothly, but this issue is too much to handle.

I used to absolutely love this browser, and use it for everything. I would always search with Ecosia first to get the trees, and then click the "More" to get to my preferred search engine if what I was seeking seemed not to show up... but typically, the Ecosia results were fine. There must have been an update within the past month or so. The Ecosia results have gotten significantly worse, and the "More" function to use a different search engine is no longer available.

Just start using. The UI is a little awkward. Usable, but formatting makes it much less convenient than Google. Google brings up recommended articles, uses bigger fonts, and when displaying an article displays the info you searched for, thos does not. Biggest upside is the eco friendly aspect. Not going to be my default browser, but will use it sometimes.

The most recent update is awful. The new look of everything is unsightly and doesn't support the vibes of a browser supporting our planet. The search layout is hard on the eyes and the results it gives now are often obscure and less relevant to the terms searched for. Whoever designed the new app icon made it look like any other generic app, almost like a food delivery service. I miss the old ecosia.

I'm very happy I can use Ecosia as a standard web browsing app, but I just wish some of the features were as nice and detailed as the others. One feature I can think of that would be greatly helpful for me is if I were able to drag tabs around to reorganize them. That's something I could do on Google Chrome/Safari, and I just wish we could do that on Ecosia as well. Other than that I really appreciate Ecosia's mission in planting trees!

Edit: glad to see improvements in making the interface smoother! I really wanted to love this app and use it on a daily basis, but the image searcher is awful. Not smooth when transitioning between pictures and then starts freezing. I have a new 2018 phone so I don't attribute it to my processor.

The search browser is very good. Helping the environment at the same time is a plus that will never get old or run out of style. Thanks to those who put this plan together. It didn't even have to make forced changes to survive with majority of people now inside or behind a screen instead of noticing the tree crisis . It tells me alot about the care and sacrifices in other ways we all are making to keep the good news trending.

I'm incredibly disappointed the this browser had now switched to the grid view for tabs. It's hard to use for me and the lack of it is one reason I was using this app in the first place. I hope that you all make it an optional feature because I will mostly likely have to find a new browser if it stays. Edit: I did switch because I couldn't stand the thumbnail layout anymore and it didn't seem to be changing. I'm severely disappointed.

The 3 stars is only because of the interface. The Samsung android browser has just about a perfect user interface. Back, Forward, Home, Tabs - all in a convenient bar at the bottom of the screen, which auto-hides. It seems like a little thing, but having to press an extra menu button to access my bookmarks gets annoying when done dozens of times per day. As for the browser itself it is fast and responsive. Will definitely revisit IF the interface is improved.

I've used this app for a long time and this browser used to be my favorite. However the grouped tab update has made it unusable. I constantly lose track of the tabs I have open, and some webpage interface elements get blocked by the group tab bar on the bottom which you can't make go away. This browser has also long suffered from the lack of ability to transfer bookmarks, even between Ecosia browsers on different devices. I've tried for months but will probably switch to Firefox now.

The app is amazing, great for the environment, but a couple things I would recommend fixing, 1. When you click on a picture in images, exiting the picture takes you back to the top of the page 2. Just a little lag 3. 45 searches is a lot, I get you have to plant so many but trying to narrow it down to 25 or 30 would be a little better :)

This app is fast. It has a solid ad blocker too, but it also has a few really annoying interface features. - It seems like every browser is adopting this grid layout for multiple tabs, and I hate it. - Ecosia also asks me to allow cookies every single time it opens, makes me change my search settings every time it opens, and shows Google results in light mode even though I have dark turned on.
