Ultimate privacy! What I like the most is that other users cannot see when you are online or typing and so cannot just bombard you with messages just because you happen to be online or get offended if you don't or delay responding... that is such a huge relief!!!! Also, contacts don't automatically appear on the Signal page. You have the choice to add them there. And then, of course, all the privacy features the App provides! No fuss. No frills. Neat, simple, functional. Great app!! Love it! ❤️

A good app. 1 major issue that I have is when a contact moves to a new device and maybe does not sign in to the app on their new device they still show as logged in and messages can be sent to them but they never receive them. This is a problem for important messages. There is no way of knowing as it even shows in the Google contact app that they are on signal.

With the exception of trying to transfer from an old phone to a new phone, signal has been exceptional. Problem I've got is is that it will not transfer from my old phone to my new one. Every time it tries it fails. Have tried restoring from the backup. It failed. I'm in the process of losing almost 3 years worth of messages because it won't go anywhere and have tried all solutions suggested and failed. Would have raided a five star now it's only a three

Signal is a great App I got it to be able to talk to a loved one abroad and it was very easy to stay connected and share files. Photo's and Videos are easy to upload and the size capabilities and comprehension tops any other App that I have tried to date! Did I mention you have the ablity to edit, deleted, and make limited veiw files and text. I mean they really thought out how to make an App and the sharing capabilities are seemless for most platforms. Thanks Signal! ✔☝️🎓❤

Sends pics & media much better than standard text messenger. And the voice message feature is very handy! Kinda wish you could post status pics like Whatsapp does... The reason I don't use Whatsapp is because it's my understanding that they "updated" their privacy policy to be more intrusive & less secure. My 2¢ Update: signal now has "stories" that are kinda like a "status". They let you post pictures, videos, and text, but sadly not just audio. So I can't post songs.

Good overall encrypted messaging app. Just wish it had 2 important features: 1. you could pin specific msgs for later reference. eg, when someone sends me a msg with a link to a video, I want to be able to pin that within a conversation, and easily refer to it later (much like the All Media feature) 2. you could mark a specific msg as unread (currently you can only mark an entire conversation unread, which makes it difficult to figure out where you need to start reading within a group chat)

This app came through for me when my phone wouldn't send or receive SMS messages. It has a streamlined feel with all the basic features I needed, it works like a dream and I'm enjoying using the Stories feature. And, setting up with my own phone number was possible, since they had options OTHER than SMS texts for confirmation - which I found to be rare. Thanks to all the people who left positive reviews here; I'm glad i listened to you.

Update: I t's good. They added timed messages but removed sms as a service. I liked the idea however i had too many occasions where the SMS would sit in limbo until you open up the app. So if you don't open it daily, you'll miss some messages. It didn't work but it was a great idea. Kept at 3 stars as a new bug appears when setting up transfer of signal accounts. When you set up on PC it's fine and syncs all messages, on a new Android the process doesn't backup from sync. Tested 3 times.

Signal is excellent. I prefer it over more commonly used messenger apps. The interface is uncluttered & doesn't weave itself through your OS. The biggest attraction for me is the encryption feature. Other messenger services are woefully lacking & are vulnerable. Signal does a good job at resolving these issues & as long as they stick to the double ratcheting end-to-end encryption thats only viewable to the poster & receiver... it will remain my go-to messenger service. Don't screw it up.

Great messenger. Uses Material You-esque design language, in fact one of the few apps with a better Android than iOS version. However the in-chat text spacing and font scaling is slightly off, making the chats themselves take too much space compared to the rest of the app. Smaller text option is far too small. With less empty space between bubbles and a smaller text space and/or mildly smaller text font, this app is will be one of the most beautiful non-Google Android apps available. Thumbs up!

By far the best messaging experience on android! This app has no ads and no tracking, which is hard to find these days, The app has a wonderful theme that fits in with the Android 12 theme, And in my opinion looks the best, Signal also let's you edit or delete your message after it is sent (Very useful) and change the app icon (for free) Something else about the app is that the interface is so clean and animated, everything has a really nice animation, Overall, better than messanger!

Mostly excellent. Occasionally has voice call drop out or failure to ring, but this likely due to one party or other's reception. I like the the clean UI, but it is a bit confusing as to how you can search for people, so this should be more prominent on the UI as an easy one button option where a telephone number can be easily input. E2E encryption is important for everybody these days as mobile signals are often hacked and not enough people are aware of this. I strongly recommend this app.

love the app but PLEASE fix the issue with messages not going through until the app is opened. I often miss messages, don't get notified, open the app and then get a bunch of notifications from 20+mins ago. Extremely annoying issue. Happening to two of my friends as well. As if app needs to be running for messages to get through. But doesn't update in background. Not a settings problem on our phones, so it's a problem with the app. Also, give us the option to record video without holding in.

For years I have been using Signal with nothing but pleasure. It has occasional connection issues, but overall works pretty solid. To me it seems to be the best alternative to all those personal data greedy super powers. Until recently, where I was forced to switch to a new phone and phone number after my previous broke. Suddenly some of my contacts don't receive my messages or calls anymore. I reported this to Signal a while ago but did not receive any reply. I'm very disappointed after this

Keep up the great work. Great app. Just don't do what whatsapp did and we will stick around. Great app. Its come along way over the years. I'm glad I made the switch. Is it possible that when you change the group name or picture for that group that its visible within the app and if pinned on the screen? It makes it hard to differentiate groups. Also can you add a pin to top option for chats? That also would be helpful. Sending larger videos or data chunks would also be awesome. Thanks!

Currently this is likely the best messaging app. The user interface is very well designed, the features offered are on par or even more than other apps, the encryption is top notch (even being quantum computer resistant), the data collected is nothing but the bare essential, and (if I remember correctly,) both the signal app and protocol are open-source!

Functional, beautiful app. Built for the privacy-conscious, so its methods may confuse some casual users from time to time. That doesn't mean it's confusing to use, however. The main problem: it's lacking a clear benefit that would draw away "normal" users from the competition. (Personally, I think it's better enough already, but most people sadly don't care about things like open-source encryption.) Its previous SMS features almost accomplished that, but were neglected and eventually removed.

I love what Signal has to offer in terms of privacy and security, but lately I and my dad have both been experiencing a lot of bugginess particularly on voice calls. We're both android operators. Calls will drop at random (not connection issue). His screen will become unresponsive while receiving incoming voice calls. I will receive notifications of "missed voice call" from anywhere between "5 min ago" to "1h ago" when my phone did not ring at all. Would like to see these issues solved.
