YouTube TV used to be great. Now you are forced to watch commercials on shows you have recorded, in addition to the regular commercials that you can still fastforward through! It's very frustrating, especially when some of the "commercials" are annoying music playing over a basic background with the name of the channel. Also, they need to fix the "pause" feature, because many times you pause because there is something on the screen you want to see and they block too much of the screen.

Just meh. I pay $72 a month for youtube tv and it was only supposed to be $60, is my 1st issue. Secondly, for $72 a month all the shows I have recorded has 10 commercials per 30 min-60 min shows that you can not fast forward through. To me that's absolutely ridiculous considering I only pay $19 for netflix WITHOUT commercials! For me I haven't experienced any "playback errors" as others have. I think for the price a whole lot of updating and fixing issues need to be made to justify the cost!

As an app it is ok. Personally, I think the UI could be a bit friendlier. It is nice to have the option of watching tv anywhere on my phone. As a service, it is quickly changing from a cable tv alternative to just a wireless version of cable tv. Cut the cord and tether yourself to the cloud! They keep changing channel line ups and raising prices, just like old fashioned cable.

I think this is the best streaming app available. I like the mix of channels, although I have no use for the sports. The library function keeps me subscribed, along with the effortless, unlimited, 9 month dvr. It's great to just set aside a show that I want to see on my timetable. The interface, especially with the new chromecast, is easy to use, although there is a little learning curve. What I hate is the price! It was a great value at $49.99, but $64.99 moves it from a "must" to a "maybe".

Overall, great deal for the price. like that I can get local channels in almost every city, like the family sharing, and the unlimited cloud dvr. The downsides, are the inability to skip more than 15 seconds at a time, poor ability to see where you are in the episode/movie if you decide to move the scroll dot, and it is glitchy. For me, the screen will get stuck in "picture in picture" mode, then black out when I maximize it but keep playing the episode. Overall, still a good deal though.

Overall, the service itself is great. Awesome channel selection, easy to use interface. It's a bit expensive though, but in my opinion you get your money's worth. However, as others have said, this makes my phone overheat to seemingly dangerous levels. I've had the same experience on 2 separate devices. I'm currently using an S10, and it gets too hot to even hold, forcing me to close the app. Nothing else causes my phone to come even close to the temp. this app does. That needs to be addressed.

Well, there was definitely things I liked. But suddenly after 4 days of the trial the channel won't load no matter how many apps/channels i delete from my Roku. I would not recommend this at all if you use a Roku device. Sad, because it has a good premise. Being able to rearrange and edit what channels show up and the order of them. But if it won't load, its pointless.

Edit: The black screen bug is happening again. Pretty frustrating. Edit #2: I discovered that I had to turn off my phone's night mode to make it work... Since then, I love it. The whole family can use it on multiple devices, and I'm able to go back and watch programs from the beginning that I've just tuned in to! I'm impressed YouTube! Cheaper than cable and more flexible, easy to use, and feature rich.

I love YouTube TV, but the app is glitchy. It drops connection to my Chromecast all the time, when other apps do not. It also can be very hard to switch from one program to another because it glitches. Even when I try to start a new show, it goes back to where I was. (Sometimes it is at the very end and then stops.) I have to hard close the app. Overall a bad interface. It's also frustrating that you can't look at the upcoming schedule on a channel. User interface could be improved a lot.

The unlimited recording is a great feature. The rewind/forward controls should be placed below or above the controls for skip forward/back. I keep hitting the wrong one. Also, when you pause, the screen dims to about half and the virtual controls remain plastered across the screen. Not good if you want to see a detail in the paused image. Overall, ok.

Slim pickings...one of only a few streaming platforms that offers local network access. Channel guide can be daunting (no way to page down or up, you can only scroll up/down one by one), and ALWAYS resets to the top of the guide (instead of staying on the current channel). Support is also pretty much non existent. Between the recent price hike and quality issues (freezing, buffering, losing audio) I've been thinking of switching to hulu (unless, someone can recommend another/better option?).

Very bad app as far as small features. After watching TV for an hour or so, the app never updates the TV schedule. If you want to see an updated TV schedule, then I must disconnect Chromecast, reconnect it, and basically start all over again as if I had just begun to watch it. Just yoo many aggravating issues that haven't been worked out by YT officials. All they do is pad their pockets by going up on the cost and never fixing the bugs in their app.

I love youtube TV, and I've tried them all. Some things I like the most is that I'm not stuck in constant Ads, there's DVR, no lagging or freezing and I can pause my subscription and renew whenever I want, with all my stuff and favorites saved, which works best for me cause I work offshore sometimes 2 weeks out the month and sometimes 6-8 weeks straight so I won't have to pay for something I won't be using. Would definitely. Recommend to others.

After selecting a channel, the app will start in low resolution. When the buffering catches up for full HD the screen flashes black. The resolution will then be HD but now the video will start to stutter. There isn't any noticable stutter when it starts off in low resolution. This has been going on for awhile now. I've tried clearing the cache, reinstalling it and restarting my phone, but nothing fixes it.

Horrible! I signed up for a 21 day FREE trial. It was far from user friendly, confusing navigation, and kept shutting off at 20 minutes of viewing. The help feature just puts you in an endless loop of auto responses and you cannot speak with a live rep, even when selecting chat or call. The cancel feature is buried in this loop; took forever to find. Then to top it off they charged me day 1 of the advertised FREE trial and refuse to refund my money! They don't even respond to bad reviews.

This is an edit to my previous rating. I'm keeping it at 2 stars because for some reason you make it impossible to update payment info if your membership has been paused. And I literally can't find a customer service number to speak with someone. I've tried everything that your help suggestions suggest. What gives? 7/18. Not renewing my membership. Your prices used to be fair but now they're comparable to cable and 90% of the channels are ones I don't used. Thanks for becoming like the others.

The smart TV app is horrible. I'd be willing to bet that nobody high up in the company uses youtube TV at home. The number of buttons you have to push on the remote to get something done is at least twice as much as any other TV app. Have to push 4 buttons to go back to the last channel you watched. While surfing the guide and you want to exit to go back to what you were watching you have to push at least 4 buttons. Price is getting ridiculous.

At first this service was great for me. It still had it's bugs here and there but it was the best tv streaming platform in my opinion. Now it's just like any other tv streaming platform, UI responsiveness (laggy) and it has way more bugs than before. It feels like any time a commercial comes on, there's a probability that YouTube TV will get stuck on that commercial. Rendering that specific channel unwatchable until who knows when because it will just stay stuck on that specific add.
