I have used this app for years. Most recently tried to set up an account with a new email since I left a very toxic relationship and it all it does is let me choose the email account, then locks up on a white screen. I've installed and uninstalled 5 times. I don't know what else to try. UPDATE: Switched my review to 5 stars. I got the help I needed and it's back to working perfectly. Thank you tech support!

TextNow is a great WiFi connection. The calls are clear and the messages go through no problem. The only bad thing is you have to get premium to get codes. Several of my apps have to send a code to verify it's you. Its frustrating to have to go through another WiFi company to.get those codes. Just wish they would allow you to receive the codes if you have had an account for awhile, as I have.

Has potential to be phenomenal but has wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too many glitches. Will take 10 min to upload ur call/text log. And 9 times out of 10 u will never get any indication that anyone is trying to call or text u until u actually open up the app for whatever reason. Then 5 min later all these missed calls and texts will be bold and highlighted in ur call log. Edit: Those problems have been fixed but now I can't send or receive texts. There is always something wrong with this app.

Used to be a great app. Ads were unobtrusive. It didn't interfere with making multiple calls. Now ads pop up after every call. To get rid of an ads you have to pay 7 dollars a week? It's more than some cell phone plans from boost or visible. I understand the need for ads but to pop up every call or pay 7 dollars a week? That's a ripoff at that point. You can get another cell phone plan for that price and add another VOIP app.

I lost my cell phone and needed to call it to find it before the battery died. I had this phone which had no service. When I tried to set up Wi-Fi calling on this it failed continuously. I guess Verizon blocks that on their pay as you go phones I downloaded this program, easy, quick, no credit card or BS required. THANK YOU! BBFHAZ

I have a subscription/ locked-in my number for almost a year now but my experience with the app has been a hit or miss. Most of the time, the call seems to be going through but there is no sound. Making successful calls have been very random as sometimes it works, or it doesn't. I have followed the in-app support for troubleshooting the issue to no avail. With my subscription coming to an end next month, currently thinking seriously about cancelling it, unless issue is fixed. So, please help.

Overall a very usable app. One problem I've encountered just recently though; I have this on both my phone and my tablet, they were both running fine n sync with eachother, then just about a week ago, I couldnt text now from my phone, the message read that my device needs to be unrooted,or an emulator turned off??????I have no clue what this means, or what happened on my end, I'm still trying to figure it out. Guess ill contact the developer.Nothing bad to say about it otherwise, but come2canada

The app is pretty great. it allows a free service of a number (unless you buy the weekly plan upgrade) it says it could have to change your number if you dont use it too long, but ive never had this happen yet which im very thankful for. There are some issues i have such as when im trying to answer the call, it just takes forever for the call to come in for me. i usually just call again. The ads are only annoying if you dont take your time.

The ads are completely in the way. But whatever. That's the free part of it. But my main issue is that I got this app as a second alternative to texting people that I don't want to have my actual number. It's sooo delayed with receiving messages. I'd receive no message. But text like 4. And then all of the sudden the other texts come in all at once and it comes in between the texts I sent as if I received them before sending out my texts. It's literally a 5-10 minute delay with these messages.

I've never had any issues with this app. So far the sound quality is good and I've never experienced a dropped call. Haha...I hope I haven't just jinxed myself, as I have to place a call in a few minutes 😅 I have the paid version, hence 5 stars for my ad experience. There aren't any when you upgrade and it's only 5 bucks a month!

Sometimes calls don't connect. But free usage and free number. Don't need wifi only to use if you got a regular phone plan. I like the fact you get a free number and quality of calls is great. But I noticed I have red low connection when it will be 5 star green perfect connection in same spot a minute later. I like the fact you can send texts to anyone not just people with the app like some text apps. You can send photos also, leave voice-mail. Best 2nd phone app there is better than pinger

Let me receive verification codes or I will keep rating this one star. You don't know how annoying that is. It never rings at all either. Very often it will show that someone has texted me but when I open the app it does not show up. Maybe half an hour later what they texted me will show up under the conversation. The ads are almost unbearable.

Data went out for a little while, so I downloaded this app just to find out it works better than our 30 dollars a month data!!! There may be a lot of ads, but I'm honestly ok with that because, ya know, 30 dollars a month. I thought it would jump something on me like "haha you've been doing the free trial, pay to continue" but nope. Genuinely works. Thanks, TextNow

The app was good at start but after you send a certain amount of texts, people don't get your texts anymore. The app takes forever to load and floating chat does not even open the texts anymore. The ads are very bad to. Sometimes they will cover up your keyboard and you accidentally click on them and they bring you to a new site. And the terms of use are straight up stupid. Your account gets banned like every other week. I do not recommend AT ALL.

Drops calls too many times I'm about to delete the app. *UPDATE* Everytime someone answers they can't hear me for at least 2 to 3 seconds. The beginning connection of the calls has some issues. It's definitely not my wifi connection speeds either. Please have the developers review this. Thank you *New update* I use this app for work, which requires making a lot of phone calls. After so many calls it now just blocks all my outgoing calls from the app. That's so annoying.

the app works and does the job. I give It 3 stars because of all the adds. also you have to pay a certain price if for example you give the number to a restaurant, it will not work for that. it also doesn't work for verification codes. then you have to pay 4 dollars a week to lock in your number or you have to text at least 1 a week. I get it's a free number but there are a lot of inconveniences that come along with and it's super slow

Only maybe once every 20 times, do my messages load when i open the app. This app has cost me so much time and money losing clients and services because I can't even open messages to reply. I open the app and it just loads and loads and I get nothing. I try to clear the cache, even delete and re-download the app. Update it. Nothing. Extremely frustrating.

Hi! Update on my experience with the app! I'm enjoying it very much! It's such a nice way to have a number without any expensive phone bill. Of course the ads kinda suck but I get that there has to be ads to keep the app free. One thing is I wish I can call and text without Internet or a sim card, but that's kinda unrealistic 😅. Overall great concept and very good app!
