I like to creep my brother out every once in a while I'll home the stick while he is watching something and do it again when he resumes his program . It drives him nuts! It's beautiful. He has no clue about the app. He'd kill me if he knew. Thanks. P.S. Just learned the app does not work on the Disney+ home screen. The only control that works is the home button. Which takes you to the firestick home screen. The only work around is to use Alexa to play content but it is very limiting.

It never works. I just downloaded the app because the actual firestick remote stopped working. I have an Samsung Android A14 phone with lots of storage and external storage space. The app sticks like its glitching. It logs me out inadvertently. It doesn't respond to the button commands consistently. Overall the app connectivity to this phone particularly leaves alot to be desired.

It works sometimes and when it works, its great. But I spend more time just trying to get it to connect and waiting on it to decide to work even when I was just using it literally not even a second ago than I do actually getting it to work. I will be scrolling and it'll just disconnect for no reason. And then I'll spend 10 mins trying to get it to connect again. But it works better than some other ones I've tried after my kid dunked my remote in a toilet.

When, not if, the remote that came with your Firestick fails as all five of mine have, this app is a lifesaver. It does the basic functions but also has a keyboard feature so you don't have to spell things by clicking across the letters as on the original remote. It only disconnects if the wifi is out which would cause the Firestick not to work anyway. I really appreciate this app.

So far it's pretty good. I started using this app because my remote died. I don't think I will replace the remote. UPDATED REVIEW: August 15, 2023. App is glitchy and sometimes it works perfectly. Lately it takes a long time to connect or not at all OR it freezes altogether. I have to restart my phone to get it back on. Not liking the app right now. I may just buy another remote that stopped working.

When trying to move up, down, left or right. Many times it just keeps going even when i give it a simple quick click. Makes it very hard to use. Never used to do this but its been doing this for over a year now. Also has a hard time connecting to wifi and staying connected. Works only half the time. Used to be perfect couple years ago but not now.

Most recent update removed support for fire stick. It's completely missing between *last night* and *today*, as if I never had it connected at all and it can't be reconnected, I've tried multiple times and the option for a stick doesn't even exist. The only reason I use the app is because when batteries in the stupid stock remotes start to die the buttons misbehave to the point that they're unusable, and the batteries in their remotes die so frequently it's insane. We have 2 TVs and a stick.

Takes forever to connect, most times can't find device or connect to it even though device is plugged on. I've uninstalled and resinstalled several times. When it finally connects it freezes after every two command, which then forces you to close and reopen the app, reconnect and start all over again. App is not functional and is more frustrating than not being able to find your remote

I have been so insanely frustrated with this app. Every time I open the app, in order to connect, I have to unplug my fire stick, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, then it connects ONLY long enough to get into my account. After that it disconnects and I have to go through the whole process again. I thought I would be able to use it easily after my kids lost the remote, but I am going to be deleting the app if this keeps happening. Edit: I cannot have Bluetooth on when I am trying to connect

The remote respond quick WHEN IT'S WORKING. I get to the video and it starts getting groggy EVERY TIME. Works GREAT until I get to the video. Starts scrolling on it own. I try to tap the button so it'll land where I want it. It won't respond, Then it scrolls unstoppable to the bottom. It won't respond to stop it. Then every five button taps it has to reconnect. It literally does it when I get to the video. It's almost comical because it's fine until I get the video. Trash

You are better off using the remote. This app frequently wont recognize my 4k 2022 model firestick, and when it does connect it then loses the connection every few moments and i have to close the app and then reconnect. Some days every thing works fine but those days are rare. I have a strong wifi signal and only ten feet from the tv and i have these issues, so i tend to just use the supplied remote over the app.maybe when they figure out a fix i can give it a better rating.

Easily 4 or 5 stars if connectivity issues would be addressed. It takes several attempts of going in and out of the app to recognize my TV. It's often that I actually have to hard power my TV off and on to get it to connect. Now it never connects. I have to unplug my TV for 10 secs and restart it just for the app to work.

This app still does not support Fire TV Recast on Android. If you're able to watch live TV on your phone, you must be running Android from five years ago. I'm pretty sure the only reason they issued an update for the app was to get around Google's policy to hide apps that haven't been updated in years. They didn't fix anything. Pixel 6 Pro, Android 14.

As much as I appreciate this app exists to help those of us whose remotes are busted or missing, the app is all kinds of buggy. It's often unresponsive, frequently loses connection, and nearly always behaves as though a button has been held down or tapped repeatedly no matter how delicately and quickly the buttons were tapped just once. All I can say is don't lose your Fire TV remote because this one barely functions and the TV has no buttons to get around it.

I used to have an older version on my older phone that worked just fine. I installed the newest version for my new phone. All connected well and then we play catch-up. Every press would take a second or two to register. Then it kept disconnecting. Then it would stop then disconnect and repeat. Then it couldn't stay connected. I took out the power out of the stick and it restarted,but after all that I had enough and didn't care to try again watching what I wanted. Not a good start.

We've had a lot of trouble with our fire tv remote after having to replace it, so we installed the app as a back up. It's a pretty inefficient back up. Jacks the volume up to 100 for no reason, has trouble connecting, has trouble finding the tv it's already linked to. Overall, kind of a headache.

Works a lot of the time. It does have issues syncing with the firestick quite often though which is frustration being it happens all the time. If your firestick isnt responding or is frozen just unplug the power cord and from the tv. One Great thing it saves money on batteries! Especially if you have multiple firesticks in your house. Batteries are VERY EXPENSIVE and if you do enough scrolling with the remote you'll go through A LOT of batteries especially if there's a fan or something blowing.

Has to consistently disconmect reconnect and as well as glitches when trying to scroll through apps or videos. Did all the updates , uninstalled and reinstalled, and it doesn't work. So buy a Roku because it the remote options don't work it's nothing more than a paperweight. I did try to download on multiple device and results were the same. Disappointed.
