Terrible performance, and I'm in a google pixel. It's slow. To add on top of that, the search bar is even slower, whenever you do a search, if you tap on the text you just typed it disappears completely, you need to wait for a good second for it to understand the tap is meant to edit text and not a new search.. Moreover, the location for the weather goes completely random, instead of using the location that even Google maps knows about.

It's a well-made app. However, for some reason recently some parts of the app have become completely unresponsive, I cannot tap or interact with any of the buttons that show up. In particular, 2-Step Verification is impossible to use, which is extremely inconvenient. I cannot manage my accounts either. Rolling back the app version did not fix the issue.

Search results yield nothing but ads, ads, more ads, "sponsored results" which are just ads, and then low quality articles that are only tangentially related to what you're searching for. Half the time, it doesn't even load anything. This search engine is a shell of its former self. I know the trend is to make your apps worse on purpose but it's embarrassing that Google has stooped this low.

No hotword sound? No assistant use. Edit: I have converted back to Android to a Pixel 6 device and for security, privacy, and general usefulness it's VERY helpful to hear an activation chime when activating the assistant via the hotword. This used to be a two tone notification. For security reasons alone this should always be an option to turn on/off. Also, this would greatly reduce the frustration from yelling at the phone not knowing it's been listening the whole time.

I have had my phone for over 4 years, and this has always been the main browser for it. I have never had any problems with it up until a little under a week ago, when all the sudden, when I type something in to search, it will never load. Note, there is no issue with any other apps. Google chrome, as well as others, is working fine. I have updated the app and the issue is still not resolved. I can't access anything about my search history settings or other settings because they also never load.

Very annoying experience after the update. The search feature is unusable for the apps. When you search for an apps you want to use, the app icons are no longer clickable. The only way to access the apps after the update is to uninstall the update, and then create shortcuts for each app or start Google searching for individual apps. This experience makes me want to iphone.

"Something went wrong couldn't connect to discover" is all I get now when I open my Google app. I used to enjoy accessing Google Discover several times/ day and last week it just suddenly went to this screen as I was on it. I thought it was because I had bad service at the time, but it never resolved when I went back to town. I have tried all the fixes except rolling back my phone. I hope Google comes up with a fix for this soon!

Good. But it seems to get worse every month. It's the same with the Google Assistant, things it used to be able to do or things it used to know, it's forgotten. Even just playing music has become a chore. The trajectory is bad. Simple searches are so clogged with sponsored material that you can't find what you want. Not great for a search engine.

The Google app on my Android phone keeps crashing. I try to open a link, and the app disappears. This just started a day or so ago, and I can find nothing so far indicating a fix. I've never been crazy about Google, but it's been my primary browser. This crashing problem may be the final nail. If anyone else has had this problem, I'd be interested in how you handled it. Thank you.

The search results are atrocious. Three sponsored ads until I get to the results. There are results within the results attempting to show the top results, but it's obviously just redundant. You have to scroll through 11 results to see 4 unique results and then the results end and try to redirect you to YouTube. NOW it'll show you thumbnails with the words of the article cut off so you can't see what you're selecting. You have to select "verbatim" every time to actually see the whole result.

Just getting worse. Voice recognition isn't very good. Nowhere near as good as it used to be. No matter how many times i retrain my voice model. It doesnt understand basic well annunciated commands. And overall i feel like the google assistant is become the main point and fewture to the phone while also being frustrating and disappointing to use. I hope things get simpler and reliable again, but i know they wont.

Song search hasn't worked in months. I used to use it regularly, but randomly, it stopped working. Now everytime I press it immediately says "unable to find a match" without even listening. I tried the suggested fixes and nothing works. There are other issues, but this is a function that consistently does not work. Remove it or fix it.

Update: I tried a some things, emptied the cache, restarted my phone a few times, and deleted a few new apps on my phone to start with. Looked at what background settings. I think it's back to working how it was before. Opening links in app. Sometimes I can open/read on the app. Sometimes it opens Chrome. It wasn't opening links in app first, it would automatically open in my default browser. I like having the option to browse and read on the app first and open or share if I want.

Frustration with lists overriding any other opinions. Used to have a decent list section with easy swiping/editability (even though you can't get to it without voice promoting). Then after it was rebuilt by (I assume) a high school intern, I turned to 3rd party list apps (that can also be easily accessed and edited), but that option was just removed and we're stuck with the least user friendly, poorly "designed" option. If Google won't take this feature seriously, allow other options!

Image search works less than 25% of the time. You have a picture of a rock sitting on a hand and it shows you a skin condition on the neck. You take a screen shot and go through gallery to get what rock you're looking for and it shows you a rock that's not even the same color. So I clear my Google search app to free up space and it makes no difference. Tried using Google lens, it has the same problem, and other's are complaining of the same issues.

Google voice search is broken. I tested my microphone and it works just fine, so that isn't the issue. Even the Google assistant app picks up my voice just fine, but for whatever reason the google search bar's voice search only picks up the first spoken word and then stops listening. It's really frustrating and I'm at my wits end.

Essentially doesn't work anymore. News discovery queue won't do more than flash up, and off the screen. Can't get into the settings for it. Done everything but roll back the device. And its usefulness has gotten progressively worse as more and more ad's show up, taking out the majority of the page when it used to work.

The search results are now plastered with ads. As you scroll, you'll end up with suggested items/searches unless you stop and hit the 'show more results' button, which is easily missed among all the ads. Searching with double quotes to include specific text no longer seems to work, either. Just an awful experience all around, Google has really gone downhill.
