Update broke the app. Before I could see and manage both of my routers (one in access point mode). Now, the router that is in access point mode is listed under "select your router" and shows "connected" but I am not able to add it as a device. The circle just spins and I eventually get an "operation failed" message.

Generally works without issues, even when you disable web admin UI access. When you try to disable it, the AX3000 firmware warns you that this drops support for using the Asus router app but it continues to work after I limited access to my LAN. Unless some of these cloud features are important to you, you generally don't want to expose your router to the internet.

It covers most of what the web app does but in different areas and of course some things are missing and some things only existing in this app. When trying to get devices spread out among your nodes, the overview pages critical. But the device account numbers are so tiny. Almost impossible to read! Why?? Why is there so much white space and the important data so difficult to get to?? Come on guys! Big easy to read numbers from a few feet away!

Well when we 1st set up this app it was awesome. Everything worked great. Then about a week ago things just quit connecting. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Will turn my 1 star back to 5 when this get fixed. I have The AC 3100. Things have been working better in the last few weeks. Thanks for whatever you did. Back to 5 stars. Well now when I do a diagnostic on my network the app has been telling me I am not connected. I am connected.

Return this while you still can. Even after hard resetting everything, after a few hours the node does not appear properly in the list and connections are poor. Rebooting the node does nothing to remedy this, even if it is right next to the main router. The web interface is horrifically slow. I spent a lot of money on the hardware only to have it be flakey at best. According to my experiences and the reports I saw online, the firmware updates tend to make things worse.

The fact that there's no "forgot/reset password" option is just stupidity. Got a new phone, and I'm being told to factory reset all my routers to change my password? Maybe I'm missing something but to Me its the markings of a lousy UI. I'm also adding the ridiculousness of the process for updating firmware. It's just not a good app to use. Bad layout as well. I'm no fan of Netgear's products (which is why I left them) but they at least got the app right.

Amazing app. Very easy to use. The Security Scan function of the app detects issues well, but doesn't actually fix anything as the description states "with a single click." Despite that shortcoming, the app works very well. The ability to manage VPN settings as well as a speed test from the router would be great. Thanks for the excellent app, ASUS.

Terrible app. Years ago the app worked mostly fine, the odd timeout every now and again, but it worked. Now it doesn't seem to work at all, can't update router, can't change any settings.. Either I'm getting an infinite loading spinner or I'm met with a connectivity timeout. Router works fine for all devices previously hooked up to it but now I can't customize anything for new connections or update firmware.

App works great for me for the most part. Only issues are 1. It shows wired connection for some wireless connections, and shows connected and then disconnected devices that don't exist. They share names with existing devices, but Mac addresses that don't exist. They are not strangers connecting to my router, as I have no neighbors and live in the middle of the woods. 2. Custom icons don't save. How annoying to dl and apply 30+ icons to have them wiped out when reopening the app. Please fix.

I am far away from the place with the router and got a new phone. The app provides no way to connect to the router once I installed it on the new phone - it does not allow entering the router's DDNS address to set up manually, and also does not allow Android or Samsung backup to make a copy of its data from the old phone and restore to the new phone. I am not able to go to the place with the router anytime soon, and till then cannot use the app simply because I am changing phones. Disappointing.

Used to work but currently can't find my RT-AC68U. When I opt to let it find my router, it displays a continuously spinning icon. I've let it try to locate it for well over 20 minutes but all it does is display the icon. It doesn't allow me to manually locate it. Pretty disappointing. Really enjoyed the working version.

Wish it had more features, but to be expected for a "lite" & "focused on top needed features" for a router. I can always login directly to the router's full GUI to get every function. Lastly, Data transfer rates for ^-loading & especially v-loading, is way off. I have DSL @36Down/350(ish)kbps^. Can't wait to move back to DFW; Verzion FIOS. The "Traffic Statistics," "Traffic Monitor" & in other areas where it shows data speeds; is way low; in kbps, not mbps. Consistant updates & new functions <3

Incredibly terrible interface: 1) The "modal" (stays on top) dialog is often partially below the keyboard app so you can't easily click "ok" 2) I had two Asus routers. It is compatible with one. Great. I tried the second one and it NEVER LET ME OUT of trying to connect, telling me that it was not compatible, and then popping up the connection dialog again...an endless loop that was NOT solved by shutting down the app. Uninstalling was the only way to get back to avoiding this. Once uninstalling, then reinstalling, the app had some nice things, but the glitches made me pretty leery of using the app. Some UI training at Asus is needed <grin>. I generally like Asus HARDWARE, but software is not their strong suite.

I'm using this with the GT-AXE11000. The app functions on a basic level. It does what it needs to do for the options it has, but it's missing features that you can only access by logging in through the web browser such as choosing the Wi-Fi password authentication method for Guest Wi-Fi. I found that a bit jarring considering other apps contain this function without going through hoops. It works, but oddly limited even with the cutting edge stuff.

Poor performance. I have an RT-AC88U and the app for both Android and iOS have always been laggy. Recently the Android app frequently times out during the discovery process. When it does connect to the router applying parental guidance settings is slow or fails. This is an expensive router with dual core processor. It has the latest firmware, the app is up to date. Update, restarted phone app now working better, they should improve reliability.

Worked for years, now terrible. My router is configured to deny remote access for security reasons, so can't use the "connected router" feature. But now I can no longer connect to my router when already on one of that router's WIFI networks. Seems to be no way to connect to a local router that's not still at factory default, not even by supplying an IP address.

Uodate: December 9th 2020 - hooray for Asus. Firmware update fixed, custom DNS now available! Old review It certainly could be better, though it used to be a lot worse. Most of the time you get 1-2 errors when checking for new firmware, if you try again it finally works correctly. Support / developers are unresponsive. There's a limited selection of DNS servers. It's be nice if you could add your own. Otherwise it's a decent app to check your network information including your mesh network.

I love how this app is very simple to use and easy to reboot or factory reset when needed but the family control of the app sucks, it's super buggy...when enabling the family schedule control feature, it turns off the internet of the device without it being turned off at the correct time, the feature was better when it was controlled on the computer. It also sucks how you can't have at least two people logged in to control the router through the app.
