Very easy to understand and make your booking, the only negative I've experienced is when a train has been cancelled and have been stuck on a station for a couple of hours and then not been able to claim compensation. thankfully, it has not happened often, but it has become more regular.

Cannot recommend the application. When I bought a ticket, it didn't appear in the application. So I needed to buy a ticket for 22 euros again. And nobody willing to refund full price of the ticket because of their stupid "fees". Moreover, they put me in the situation where I it was possible to impose a fine on me if the controller was at that moment on the train. Upd. Customer Service is awful also. I was trying in first place to contact them. And the waiting time was 5 (!) hours.

I keep getting caught in situations where the cost increases by about £0.05 every time I try to buy a ticket. This change also cancels my current transaction, leaving me trapped in a loop "search for tickets -> select ticket -> buy ticket -> error -> repeat" until the train inevitably comes and goes before I can even buy a ticket. Greed and miniscule profits over functionality.

I've used the app for several years. The app generally works well and is easy to use, however A) transaction fees are too pricy - alternatives are free. B) after a train cancellation it was difficult to get a refund: I had to call, got a full refund as is my statutory right but they made it sound like they were doing me a favour. C) The app sometimes offers tickets that it can't sell to me. In this case I need to know so I can go and use the station ticket machine instead.

When trying to buy an open return ticket, the app decides to show you several day return options first even though you have specifically selected open return. As someone who struggles with tickets and public transport due to social issues, it adds another layer of stress and unrefundable expenses. I really do not need.

Very poor app , never loads and when it does it crashes. Won't let you view your journey, doesn't do the live updates as it advertises. Won't let you view your receipt. It gets worse every time it has an update rather than improves.

*Edit* I've STOPPED USING TRAINLINE NOW... Instead I find trains on the clunky NationalRail site and make my purchase from Chiltern. Booking FEES on top of the train fare! Most of the time. What a rip-off. Also poor sync between logged-in website and mobile app, which is an added inconvenience. Splitsave offers fewer ideas/suggestions than some other fare-splitting apps. I usually search a few places then buy the tickets on NationalRail.co.uk to avoid paying fees. Chiltern seem decent right now.

MAJOR FIX REQUIRED AFTER MOST RECENT UPDATE. Whatever you did in the most recent update, this app went to a black screen after the opening Trainline screen. And then hung there. Since it contains my Railcard which I need to use to travel to a funeral in less than a week, I was pretty unhappy about this. (I'm using Android 6.0.1, non-upgradable, on a OnePlus One phone.) Edit: uninstall/reinstall fixed this error. But an upfront warning this might happen would have helped. A lot. Plus the fix.

Painful to use. why can't I just buy a particular ticket without choosing outward and return journeys. For example, I want to buy an off peak return between 2 stations. This should be much easier and not require selecting particular journeys.

Such a handy app and very convenient interface. I use it to look up the routes and times, buy tickets for the whole family my travel card for work. It helps work out the best price and prompts for any discounts.

Mostly good app and easy to use. There's a recent bug which I've reported but no changes yet where the screen after buying a ticket is the same as just before buying, making someone think the transaction hasn't gone through. I've bought duplicate tickets twice due to this. Please fix.

Overall good but so sluggish. Why does it take so long to show a ticket you have already looked at? Edit: put it down to 1 star after being charged 75% of the ticket price for a refund as an "admin fee" despite the entire process being handled by computers for a train I know is basically empty. Scammer. This shouldn't be legal to rob people like this.

Edit.. Great, so you charge me for trains that have been cancelled and there's no option for a refund.. Way to go! (and you can't see why the rail industry is on its knees!). (the refund option was there, it just wouldn't work). Unable to request refunds through the app. I'm guessing the train companies have stopped you doing this, and you've gone with it.

Just as bad as the train companies, be 150% that the ticket you buy is compatible for the route you need, at the time you need, because any info you need is hidden away (I never knew Endinburgh had a later super off peak until I visited). Once you activate a ticket you get no refund, even if it hasn't been used, and even if you made a mistake booking, they they can charge up to a £10 fee

very confusing website as information is often inconsistent. We accessed the site 3 times entering the same journey requirements and the list of available services was different each time. We wanted trains leaving in the morning but the list of available services began the previous day.

10£ service fee because I refunded my ticket a minute after ordering, daylight robbery. I tried to order a ticket for a train due in 2 minutes, they gave me a code to print which made me miss my train. Can't view tickets without an internet connection. Lowered by 1 star due to useless response. When looking at the same route, it does not warn me about refund policy or ticket print requirements. This should be as clear as possible and highlighted.

Went to change the return ticket to the day before, to get a message saying it had failed. However, it had succeeded, I had been charged the £10 service fee, the ticket was sent to my email and the original return ticket was deleted. I also got an email saying the refund had failed (that I never asked for). Ended up having to buy tickets all over again as I know longer trust the original tickets still work. Should've just bought tickets at the station.

Easy to use, brings up cheapest /fastest, automatically. finds nearest alternatives. not fussy with clock for times but sure I will get used to it. Advance tickets I bought have plenty of leeway if I happen to decide to stay a bit longer.(obviously you don't get your seat reserve number if you do ) use this site often.
