Description of Yandex Maps and Navigator

Yandex Maps is the ultimate app for navigating the city around you. Yandex Maps is packed with useful features that can help you get around with comfort and ease. There’s Navigator, with info on traffic jams and cameras, and voice assistant Alice. There’s searching for places by address, name, or category. There’s public transport like buses, trolleybuses, and trams moving on the map in real time. Pick any mode of transport to get to your destination. Or create a walking route if you feel like it.

Navigator
• Real-time traffic forecasts to get you moving and avoid traffic jams.
• Voice prompts for turns, cameras, speed limits, accidents, and roadworks to help you navigate without looking at the screen.
• Alice is also on board: she'll help you find a place, create a route, or call a number from your contact list.
• The app recommends faster routes if the traffic conditions have changed.

Previously I used this app, because it shows Palestine on map... today I saw this app shows israhell..not Palestine, very disappointed.. uninstall this app, and rate it 1

Overall experience with this app is very good.only problem is that there are no options of avoiding motorways/highways and ferries(one can only avoid toll roads).i ride 50 cc scooter and i can't ride on these roads.i would definitely make it my default map if they add these options.the color of the selected routes in map,satellite and hybrid shuold be different or more eye catching than the surrounding roads so that one can easily understand where one is going.this app can challenge google......

After clearing my search history, it shows "clock" symbol if I searched the place again, which means that the history isn't completely cleared. Device: Android-Samsung Galaxy J4 Device Language: English Edit: Regarding the history, this is not the correct behavior. It's deleted but if I searched again, it will appear in the suggestions with "searched" icon, but it shouldn't.

So far great. I've moved here from Google maps which all of the sudden started displaying terrible satellite views (after years of nice ones) ... Lakes where I boat now look ugly like a film negative, completely unusable. Yandex satellite images are great so far so I'm their new customer.

I really like this app: more places in Russia, especially numbering of entrances and direction from which side of building. Also I like that I can manage bookmarks(groups, visibility, logo), but this is function everywhere. Recently I found that I can order taxi and manage without installing Y.Go. I immediately used it (you just can pay with cash, no card...though using map with the same account). Oh, I like see moving public transport and be in time. I live in Ulyanovsk. And it's good for me

To devs: I tried Yandex.Maps, Here WeGo, and Maps.ME Apps and found that each of them lacking in Turkey, particularly for Anatolian cities. While Yandex is in more close competition with Google Maps, Google triumphs by its user contributions. Google reveales more places, businesses, has more up to date info about what is where and such. Since this is thanks to it's user base, Yandex is losing. However, map quality is better in Yandex. That's all I can say so far.

I must admit that Yandex.Maps is better than Google Maps in matter of UI. I will truly grateful if I can use it in Bali, Indonesia. There's still many missing places and streets. You may want to consider improving the maps, since there is some Russian and European people coming here.

I thought it would only work in Russia hut I tried it out and IT WORKS IN SINGAPORE ALSO! There are also no ads whatsoever. This is a good replacement for Google Maps. The problem is that it doesn't show which line a station is or what buses you can take, it only shows driving.

since 2 years I had used this great application,Thanks alot yandex. until the end of July while pressing the address in other apps yandex was opening the address and directions so quickly. but since 1 st August while you want to search some places you should completely close the app and once again opene it(can not be opened by pressing on addresses like before) it takes more time especially when you are on your bike or driving. I will edit my review if you solve this issue.

I'm really unhappy that they forced us to switch to this app from yandex transport. So much for user choice... Not only that, but this app is worse than the previous one, it can't show you all buses simultaneously and has some features cut all around. UI isn't as easy to use either. By the way yandex spies on people similar to how Chinese apps spy on you.

Very pleased with app. Big plus is showing house numbers on map. Why 4 instead 5 stars: using this navi in town, main streets is marked with light yellow color. If in street in front of me there's some cars, guided line is turning light yellow. It's hard to see guided line. I like using colors for traffic status, but not pleased with mentioned combination of colors. Thanks for good aplication.

Very good map in terms of features but I'm currently living in Canada and the map doesn't have all the places in Canada so Yandex need to add all the places in Canada and to be more specific I live in city "Mississauga" and the province is "Ontario" in Canada so Yandex maps need to have all the places around the globe and if it doesn't what's the point. So I like Yandex because of its browser and I would also like to give it's maps a try. Hope you guys will do it. Best of luck

Wow, finally a decent & worthy Google maps competitor! This is my new favorite navigation app, I'm just amazed on how good Yandex conceptualized and realized their maps. With the introduction & integration of more country's maps, some essential & important features like public transport info and routes, live traffic state and etc. you'll definitely dethrone your cluttered rival! Keep it up, Yandex!

Great app, much better than Google maps. But please stop forcing navigation in Y.Maps and turning off switching to Y.Navi! Y.Navi is much more convenient than navigation in Y.Maps as the latter is too small once installed in a car holder far away from the user. 3D navigation provides better visibility and more details than 2D mode, especially on road forks or other types of road junctions. I miss my turn much frequently when using Y.Maps navi mode.

The app used to be good but nowadays it just crashes constantly. Also RANDOMLY stops showing some bus stops in Moscow. -- Reply to the developer: I already had a sour experience reporting an issue with the PC version of Yandex Maps on Linux that has never been fixed. It was a total waste of time, so not doing that again, sorry.

I'll attempt to update my previous post to answer some of the developers questions. Just because this didn't perform the way I expected doesn't means it's useless. It just means that it isn't what I'm looking for. Maybe I downloaded the wrong app to do this. I was simply looking for a Google maps replacement without a service fee to display on the stereo using Android auto. However, looking at the amount of 1 star reviews since July of 2019, kind of points out the app isn't useful. [Useless]

Yandex Maps now has truck routes showing weight and dimension limits as well as other parameters. They also show obstacles that cannot be avoided. For example, where the only accessible road goes under a low bridge. All this will help you plan trips and reduce the likelihood of getting a fine.To set it up, plot a route, open its parameters and select the type of truck. The parameters will be filled in automatically, and it will only be necessary to correct what did not match.

You can now save public transport stops and routes to Favorites. You'll be able to easily locate them: the moving icons of saved routes are always visible on the map, and your favorite stops are highlighted yellow.To add a stop or route to your favorites, tap Save to My transport in the card. You can view the list of all saved routes and stops in the app menu under My transport. To choose which routes and stops to show on the map, go to Menu — Layers.
