Description of Yandex Start

The Yandex Start app has everything you need on one screen. Make any page your home page. Easy search, weather, and traffic right on your home page, plus translations of webpages, images, and videos online.

Choose your home page: Pick any page to start your day with online. It could be, for example, ya.ru — the Yandex Home Page — or your own site.

Everything you need on your home page: Weather forecasts for your area, traffic, and easy Yandex search with quick suggestions.

Translate pages and images: It's now easier than ever to translate almost any site, buy tickets, or find out a business' hours, even if you're in a country where you don't speak the language. Yandex Start translates entire sites, individual sentences, or even text in images from more than a hundred different languages.

Translate and dub videos: Find and watch videos from all over the world translated and voiced in Russian by Yandex's neural networks. Learn about travel, cars, gadgets, scientific discoveries, recipes, and everything else being talked about in English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian.

Avoid unwanted calls. Turn protection on in your settings and you'll always know who's calling, even if the number isn't in your contacts. The database has more than 5 million organizations and user feedback, saving you time and helping avoid unwanted calls.

They have access to EVERYTHING: messages, images, spoken phrases. They say there is an opt out but when you click for more info, the opt out actually states you should delete the app. Absolutely hilarious. Get rekt! You fo NOT NEED all those data types.

I enjoy the rapidness of the app as well as the rapidness in which it provide results to my searches as compare to google. But it is 60% in Rusian language and 40% in english etc . I don't understand Rusian language and i find this app cool , but i can't get to the full of it because of language barria . I sujest that problem should be fixed.

Ugh & eew how Fugly! The extreme bright/light theme doesn't help! The settings sidebar looks correct & pleasing. I understand the need to compete w/ Google, but damn this wrong way 2 go about it! Google has the worst behind 🍏 GUI standards. 🤔 Lemme c if I got an old version backed up somewhere....

My app has a foreign language,maybe that is what you refer as Russian,it only translates few items if translate option is clicked,sometimes i don't know what to click for i don't understand anything. At "Home " it translates nothing. It is a good app though,but i will rate the rest if everything is made possible

Bravo! Russia... Better than other related apps. Keep it up and be strong! One request, please allow all your applications to have an option to choose from different languages so that people all around the world can understand your efforts, opinions, reasons, logic and most importantly the truth... I had an issue with app language. The day after my feedback here, Yandex contacted and requested some detail. A week after I provided, it was fixed. Not only good product but also responsive and fast customer service. Hope the competitors will follow.

This app is the bomb. I can do things I've never dreamt of doing with Google, and its just awesome overall! Thank you SO much for creating the Yandex system! I've completely abandoned Google, and have turned to Yandex in all entirety. Yes!!! Edit: Im so glad that I made this decision, or else I wouldn't be typing this review on Y-board! (Yandex Keyboard).

Since I've been learning Russian I've found it to be a good immersion that helps me learn more being exposed to it more frequently. If anything, id recommend they have some materials to help those that want to learn the language.

First I have to say that I love Yandex. I use it everywhere. I think the search results are even better than Google. But I think there is just one problem. About every page in Yandex is in Russion. I need to translate it. Please translate all pages. Except those problems, I love Yandex. And lastly, I loved your new logo. Thank you for all of your efforts... Best regards

5 stars just for the image search functionality alone. I get all giddy every time i jump on here, whether its to gather ideas for my next art project or just vegging out on all the pictures (for 4+ hours 🤷) this search engine consistently hits the mark on what im looking for (always the first time too) while also digging up what feel like latent curiosities buried in my subconscious via the tag suggestions. I almost feel violated (kidding..) This can't be overstated - PLEASE DONT BECOME GOO-

Certain images will not load when doing reverse search. It just closes the folder and goes back to camera. Everytime you guys update this app you break some kind of functionality. I dont know where to go its all in Russian.

Good work! You guys are probably what google used to be in the 90s, when you searched for stuff and you actually found it and several times even. Please carry on even if the playstore gets salty and bans you because how dare you have an actual functional product. Anyways I am having trouble finding the option to search by image. It is one of my favorite features of the site, I use it a lot to find the source of artwork that gets reposted without credits. Is this a function of the app or no?

bloatware. didn't ask for it to be installed onto my phone, but the manufacturer decided otherwise. voice assistant probably spies on you, as so the other ones on the market. always listening and sending voice data to their service's servers. But, it is run by a Russian company and we all know how bad things are in Russia regarding laws and personal freedom, etc. So, no, thanks

Once again Yandex proves itself superior to Silicone Valley. Fantastic! I love browser controls at the bottom. Also extensive tools and features, plus desktop version. Now if you could do search engine with sort by dates, chronological order, and other things, plus a video platform , you could give Silicone Valley a run. Without the CENSORSHIP, too! Thanks.

Alice seems to be good alternative to alexa, Cortana, and hey google. UI is very attractive. when the app is available outside Russia, it will be much appreciated if team provode option to show search results English by default when you get permission to acess location from user. Please provide option for English search results so that we can world can enjoy it.

Would give it a 0 star rating if I could. When I try to set location, it decides on its own that I don't live where I do, but in some place I can't even pronounce. When try to set country, USA is not even listed. There appears no way to set language, and I couldn't find bookmarks.

Great app other than mostly everything is in Russian, which is good if you can read Russian. I wish there was a way to have it primarily in written English "the world's universal language" and have options to select other languages by your country of origin as secondary. This is just my opinion. **to developers > thank you for your reply in explaining how to convert pages to English. I had to select New Brunswick as that is my province kind regards 😊👍

Very intuitive. Love being able to simply tap on email, yandex disk, zen...etc. Only issue is cannot figure out how to load bookmarks from other browsers or get English on lenovo x230t laptop. Browser homepage is in russion but since I aim to improve on my russian this is not A really big deal...just the inability to transfer bookmarks from my samsung internet browser. It bugs me!🙄
