Used to be an amazing app. Now that they've migrated from an app to a Web UI it kind of sucks. It's slower, sometimes entirely stops responding, has odd visual glitches and is just overall a worse experience. You're better off getting Splashtop or another proven remote desktoping app - which is sad because the old chrome remote desktop app was amazing, fast, easy to setup and free.

Latest update is awful. Very disappointed. Please bring back the last version. It is riddled with problems. Here's just one example of the many problems.... if you try to "fit to screen", it'll rotate the layout of your computer, which forces you to fix the computer's display settings when you get back to the actual computer. With the computer ending up sideways, it's a huge pain just to use the mouse to get the settings so you can fix it. God help you if you don't already know how to do.

Recent update shrank the available screen real estate, but even worse is that it regularly displays in portrait mode instead of landscape and ***will not rotate*** If you are going to leave that bug in, at least give the option to manually switch between landscape and portrait mode. Otherwise, added functionality to easily switch between touch and keyboard and to switch between single displays in a dual display setup helps a bit.

Great app! However, it has always been hard to get the keyboard to appear. Whenever I try sliding down the screen to select the keyboard option, the only thing that slides down (usually 90% of the time) are my own phone options/notifications. There is an option that says "show/hide keyboard" however when I select this option the keyboard quickly appears and then it's gone. Please make it easier to access the keyboard for this app. Thanks!

I have to reset the PIN every time I use the app. How the %@$ is that for convenience?!? I can set it up and verify. Then, when I try to use remotely, no dice. Fails at exactly what it is intended for. Lamest app ever!! Must be at the terminal to reset!! Too many programmers rush to publish. This is a classic example. Label it BETA until it will work as advertised!! Should be a requirement! Last update 2019... you are not done, fix it!!

Used to work perfectly for accessing my desktop remotely. Low lag, responsive, easy to use. Then they forced an update to use the web version, even when launching from the app. Ever since, it has become unusable. Extremely laggy connection, inputs sometimes don't register anymore, and no amount of messing with the settings has fixed it. Unfortunately going to have to look for a replacement now I guess. Update: parsec is exactly the replacement I wanted

New update has made this app unable. Doesn't respond to touch controls sometimes. Also can't access the keyboard. I don't get why Google decided to make the app run through Chrome. The previous version of the app was perfect but this new version is running a desktop app on mobile phones. If we wanted to run it through Chrome then we wouldn't have needed to download the app through the playstore!

Tried to email issue to developer but the email address is not correct. My issue: After last update, once connected to the remote computer the UI to change the mouse setting and bring up the keyboard shows for a few seconds and disappears. I can no longer get it to show up anymore by clicking near the top of the screen or touch and drag down. A lightly grayed out status bar at the top will show my battery life and that's it. Otherwise app has been great.

This app is great for accessing my PC from my phone! The "touch screen as a mouse" is actually easy to use and and connecting to my PC is pretty fast. My only complaint is that the button to open the keyboard hides after a few seconds, then occasionally I can't get that menu to return. This is the menu at the top where you can access the keyboard, settings, etc.

I use this all the time to control my Desktop when I'm away, from my Laptop and my smart phone. Both versions have a weird bug that the mouse is not visible when first logging in. I just figured out, you can get the mouse to appear by dragging a window on the desktop screen. It would be great to get this fixed, though. I've had that issue since I installed it over a year ago. Other than that, I wish it was easy to transfer multiple files on the desktop version, like TeamViewer has.

Great client interfacing! The only caveat is that the top tab that allows keyboard input or mouse/touch option will disappear after first showing up. There appears to be no current way to bring the tab back down, even with a pull-down motion from the top of the screen. This might be user error, but the same result comes from multiple attempts. Still, excellent remote mobile-device-to-computer control!

I love the app. I use it everyday. I only have two issues. First one, recently, after updating to Oreo, I found that whenever I type more than 5 characters on anything while on a remote connection it duplicates the text. I type a word with 6 characters, hit space or enter, and it duplicates what I typed on the text field. The other issue is when I type the pin to access my remote connection, after that, when I want to type on a different field it stays on the number keypad rather than switching to the qwerty keyboard... I use the app everyday to help me with school homework while I'm away or whenever I just need to access my computer so these things can be really annoying. Please fix! :(

Much improved from prior versions, as of October 2022. I'm using it on a Pixel 6a, an iPad and a Lenovo Android tablet. The interface is smoothest on the Pixel, whereas the iPad version is less intuitive. I'm glad that Google keeps improving the app as it is one of the most functional utilities out there - I have been using it for many years to access files at home while I'm in the office, and also to troubleshoot remote computers for friends and family.

Always used this app. Never had issues. Most people complain about the keyboard and the drop down menu but I found a resolution. By changing between portrait and landscape modes, the top menu bar with mouse, keyboard and menu show up. HOWEVER, sometime between 11am and 3pm Central time on July 21, 2021 there was an update and the keyboard button does not show up at all. I only see the mouse and the three vertical dots (menu) in the drop down. I can't type because there is no keyboard. Please fix

Great app. Had an issue after updating to Android 11 where I could no longer access the keyboard as I could before. Just found out that you can swipe down with 3 fingers and you will see the keyboard. So to anyone having this issue, and from the reviews, there are quite a few, swipe down with 3 fingers and you'll be able to access the keyboard as before.

Was working fine till end of August / beginning of Sept (2020). No new edition of this app, so have to assume it has something to do with an update in Google or Chrome. Maybe wasn't the best for extended / detailed work, but it was reliable and easy to use for quick tasks like looking something up or grabbing a file. In the last couple weeks I haven't been able to connect to either remote computer that I have set up unless I'm on the same network. If I'm on the same network, then I'm close enough to use the actual computer I'm trying to connect to rendering this useless. I've cleared the cache on phone and computers. I've uninstalled / reinstalled. Nothing seems to work. At best, it will display "connecting" for a while before saying the remote computer is not responding and give an unexpected error message. Usually, however, as soon as I open the app, it will say there is nothing set up to connect to. If I could figure out which update broke it, I'd roll back to the previous version, but I'm not even sure what changed. I was using this several times a week, but now have to find some other app / company to use. Very disappointing.

Quality has gone downhill recently with the latest Samsung s10 Android update. I constantly have to reconnect or force close the app to fix bugs. The keyboard is not accessible unless you click it the first 2-3 seconds of your connection. Randomly the app runs very slow, other times it runs fine. Connection is strong on both ends, and it works flawlessly when I connect from a web browser on my laptop. The issue seems to be specific to this app. Overall, I enjoy using this app. But the bugs seem to be piling up, and google isn't updating this app any longer.

*Actually* worthless now. Not sure who greenlit converting this to just a wrapper for the web ("updated") version, but it's actually unusable, and I'm on a brand new pixel 7. Not being able to actually interact with the remote desktop defeats the entire purpose of the app. There seem to be more settings available, but they don't add any value since the core functions don't work. It mostly just freezes or crashes. Guess it's time to find something else. Such a shame. It used to be really good.
