No longer an app for hobbyists or home automations. The free version provides pretty much nothing. If you want the old Blynk you need to pay subscription every month. This in my opinion is not worth it, time to move on from Blynk after all these years.

Coming from the original Blynk app this is a significant step backwards. As an End user I was unable to complete the setup of a device or delete devices that was not properly configured. Hit the free account device limit, with no obvious way to remove devices or attempt to correct issues with partially setup devices.

The refusal to port accounts from old system to new system (to show appreciation to older customers) just shows absolute greed in my opinion as well as the subscription based system. I don't do subscriptions. I do purchases. Peace out.

A big step backwards , way harder to use , no digital pins so you have to write code for everything , no simple timers that can be added and set direct from your phone as in the legacy version, can't switch pins with Google assistant as before , oh and now you have to pay , I would pay for the legacy version but not this .

That's not cool. I love the legacy blynk app, I spent a lot of time and money purchasing "energy" on their app, and now they are shutting it down by the end of the year, introducing this new app with a subscription plan. I'd have to get your PRO plan for 41$/month to keep my personal non-commercial project running. Not cool

Downloaded to try what Blynk has to offer over other iot backend providers. Horrible app. Lag is an understatement. Looks like it could be a good product, but the app falling on its face ruins it. Most of the time the app can't even log in. Edit to answer developer. Was not using a VPN. No VPN software installed.

Blynk legacy was so good.. I do not understand why you came up with this monstrosity.. Edit: Nope. Still bad. I do not want to pay 5€ a month for one iot app for my boiler. If it was cheaper, maybe more people would be using this. It is a great concept, very nicely integratable among different iot devices. Honestly I love it because there is absolutely no one else with this level of ease of use on the market. It just is not small hobbyist scale friendly..

I really like the Blynk concept and am migrating from the legacy system. My issues lie with the GUI, which is quite poor. - the snap to grid feature for aligning widgets is finicky. It's a chore to place widgets. - the Menu widget cuts off text of the menu items if the widget has a title and can't be resized. - the Text Input widget is too large - when deleting a widget, the delete icon is superimposed on android's Home icon. Too many bugs for an app released over a year ago.

Blynk 2.0 is actually amazing once you get to navigate around. Its way better than Legacy. At first I was really frastrated to be honest it's not as easy as legacy to navigate but once you do, It is really great and the potential of the app has been super upgraded. Let us give the developers time and be patient... They are developing an amazing thing here. Can't wait for the Mobile Dark Theme and also Sharing of the Dashboard.

I'm using blynk to control Node RED (running locally on Raspberry Pi) safely over the internet. Blynk functioons as a simple remote (lights, HiFi set, etc) and it's very usefull for that. Some downsides: ***"homescreen shortcut" not available anymore, Bummer! ***When opening the app it spams to upgrade to the PRO version. What a hassle, Bummer! ***Blynk seems to be built for professionals. For simple smart(ish) home, the free version is under-equipped and the paid version is overpriced

software turned to subscription, at crazy pricing. Far too expensive for its value. We found another solution that's much less expensive (free) and worked much better for our application than blynk did. Mit app inventor is what are using now, small learning curve, but much better in my opinion.

Absolutely unacceptable change. I used the (now legacy) app to controll a few basic projects for about 2 years now, I PURCHASED more "energy" so I could do what I wanted. Now? All that energy is deprecated and the only way to continue moving forwards (after Dec, 2022) is a subscription? Don't let them get away with this. Don't use this app.

Wow this is an absolute dream system for easy configuration and setup to a working system. I spent many many hours trying to assemble and learn a Node.js stack, html, JavaScript etc to get a web/app interface to some ESP devices. HUGE learning curve and not sustainable unless using regularly. I got a basic system running with Blynk in a couple of hours!

Great app when it comes to functionalities, UI and easy to use. You can also test it without any payments for 1 device. What is bad is pricing. For 50$/month You'll be able to connect only 40 devices. For 7$ You'll have 10 devices which is to low for any smart home design

You can Add widget to control switches for a particular device. Current widget is somewhat useless. Response time is incredibly fast and mostly reliable. But what's missing is a useful widget so that you don't have to open the app everytime you wanna switch on/off something, pls add this.

I wonder if it can still use in any region and i have a hard time trying to reconnecting to ensure that the device is online

I am using Blynk to control and monitor my homebrew Wemos D1 ESP-8266 solar charge controller. It does everything I need and is reliable. Learning curve was reasonable once I'd worked out how to connect it. The free limitation of 2 devices allows me to have a production and development system. It would be nice to have more devices and widgets but did I say it was free?! :-)
Brad Hemmingsen
The Blynk 2.0 system takes some time to migrate from the Blynk Legacy system. Once I transfered my project and got more familiar with the Blynk Console, I actually like the new system. In particular the WiFi provisioning system is a major upgrade. My disappointment lies in the new pricing system. The legacy system was perfect for DIYers, like myself, for small home projects where you are only using a couple of devices. Additional widgets could be purchased with energy, which I invested a fair amount in. In Blynk 2.0 the widgets are extremely limited and my previous projects and layouts will not work without upgrading to one of the pricing plans. I am not trying to commercialize my projects, so joining a subscription doesn't make sense. I recognize the hard work that the Blynk Developers have put into this ecosystem and would be happy to "pay my dues" for that work. However, I would like to see something where I could purchase all the widgets perpetually for a one time fee.
