Hold for Me lets you go back to your day. If a business puts you on hold, Google Assistant can wait on the line for you and let you know when someone is ready to talk.

Call Screen answers unknown callers, filters out detected spammers without interrupting you, and helps you learn more about callers you don’t recognize before you pick up.

Since the mid Oct update for this and/or another Google app, when I make a call using this phone app, no one can hear me. If I'm connected to Bluetooth on my car, people can hear me. If I use the Google Voice app, people can hear me. This Android phone option works well. I would prefer that this have not been the default phone option on my new ph, but didn't know this when purchasing the ph.

Bluetooth calls with this app are scratchy and almost unintelligible. I'll be switching my calling app back to the basic Galaxy calling app due to this issue. Such a disappointment, especially considering I use Google for nearly everything else. Edit: It seems like a major software development oversight if the device-specific issue is on one of the most popular devices on the market (Galaxy S22). Especially when considering that I've tested 3 other phone apps and none of them have had this issue

I dont like the late sept update. The call screen options have changed & the assistant that answers screened calls sounds snotty & arrogant. I would like the choice of screening voices back (male or female,non condescending) which they have taken away. Also I prefer the previous in-call screen from earlier versions, which have more options without having to scroll through while in a call

Call bubbles went away! I originally thought this was a bug. Turns out Google got rid of them for some reason. Having the little pill at the top of the notification bar is a pain because the phone goes black. Trying to save me from accidentally pressing a button while I'm on a call. The call bubble was so much easier. Bring it back!

Purchased pixel 7a so i could have visual voicemail when last phone toast. Or so I thought. Problem with phone was calls not coming in and dropped calls. Resumed same problem since update. So I'm where I was before but out quite a few bucks. Yes I've rebooted and cleared the cache and so on. Also not able to access Wi-Fi calling. Kludgy as f*"':k. So this is Klingon software. It wasn't released but escaped. The spam filter and not waiting on hold are both super nice.

This would be a great app if the visual voicemail would activate properly. Tried erasing the storage and cache with a force quit, deleting my sim and readding it, restarting my phone, and still have no voicemail. AT&T has verified this is something to do with the software itself. Really disappointed in Google since a quick Internet search shows this isn't an isolated issue.

The whole system sucks. I have a phone that barely functions as a phone. It totally lacks clarity and simplicity. Voicemail is a clunky nightmare that is nothing but frustrating to navigate. The settings are confusing at best and when they make decisions for me, calls get lost or not delivered. At least give us back the old Motorola Razr. A person could actually talk and converse back then.

It works really, really well and it seldom crashes. But I think that sometimes crashes occur based upon your specific cellular telephone and whether the Software was updated and whether you have the memory close to full. I just wish that we would still have telephones with real keyboards. I am always afraid that the virtual one won't work. It is what it is.

-0 stars. I'm getting really annoyed with this app now. For the last few weeks I've been having difficulty calling certain people on my contacts list (2 people to be exact) and everytime I call them the phone either drops the call immediately or it says "No Signal" then immediately drops the call. This has only happened with 2 of my contacts both of which I've never had trouble calling before. I've updated, uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times with no change at all. Please fix it.

very frustrating phone app. every time I answer a call, the screen immediately goes off! I then have to turn the screen back on during the new call to be able to turn on the speaker phone. also call screening is a nightmare. I don't remember turning it on, and it rattles off its message to the caller with NO way of interrupting it to accept the call. Most callers just hang up.

Basically does what it says on the tin. The somewhat annoying thing - and the reason I don't update - is twofold: the app works fine as it is; and the majority of the updates seem to be aimed at improving service on American handsets and/or carriers. I would ask the developer to please remember that the app is used internationally, and - America not after all being the majority of the world - many of us don't have the handsets/cannot access the carriers the improvements are meant for. Thank you.

It's too slow and it takes so much time to show the sim choices when I try to call someone ( I have 2 different numbers from different providers). Also when I call, the screen greys out and I can't even hang up the call until the other party has answered and a few seconds has passed. Finally, when I get calls it sometimes shows only the number instead of the contact name. You make it the default app , at least make it work!!!

The application is good and smooth. one major disappointment is that when I set a picture for a specific contact it doesn't reflect on full screen instead it comes in a small circle. It will be good if you have an option for users to choose whether to view full screen image while receiving, dialing or during the call or we only want a small preview.

After the update to Android 14 this week, the call history is not being recorded. It's so annoying. It starts work after restart for several hours and gets stuck again. As far as I see it is a common issue in Android 14 beta releases. I expected that to be fixed as you are releasing an official version and push it to the end devices. Tried update of Phone app, Uninstall, install and so on - only restart helps for a while.

It does not have the vibration feature when someone takes a call or hangs the call. Sometimes you keep talking not knowing the call had ended long ago. It also doesn't have the call recording feature. That's too poor! Please fix these lapses. I love the fonts and interface, very easy to use.

Really bad app, crashes all the time. It won't load, takes forever to open. Lately I haven't been able to access any in call options, even to answer or hang up the call, speaker, mute nothing. I've had to power off my phone just to end a call. I have restarted my phone a million times and checked for updates. When I get a new phone I will never be using this app again. Problems are endless.

As of a couple weeks ago, the phone screen turns off during a call and becomes completely unresponsive. No buttons or gestures will turn it back on until the call ends which means I cannot hang up or use the dial pad or any other function during a call. I've tried clearing the cache, changing settings and permissions, and restarting the phone, to no effect. Not sure if it's related or what it means, but I noticed a tiny red light underneath the bezel at the top of my screen during this time.

Excellent set of features for combating spam and robo calls. The screening feature is my favorite. I have noticed though when receiving and making a call the contact image is just this tiny circle at the top of the app. With so much empty space between the image and call options at the bottom how's about an option for a full screen caller id. Our phones have amazing screens and cameras and we take pictures of friends and family all the time. Give us the option. Thx.
