Description of Carrier Services

Carrier Services provides services to support RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging in Google’s Messages app. It collects diagnostic and crash data to ensure these services operate smoothly.

Not updating this, my phone works fine as it is, I need it to order essential medication, and it seems this app keeps breaking people's phones (read the other reviews). It's probably only Google's idea of spyware anyway. My advice is, leave well enough alone.

Awful interference. I have finally deleted this app after weeks of hassle. Every app on my phone was affected from camera to WhatsApp. I couldn't use an app without continual popups from Carrier Services asking me to send a report, retry or close to the app I was trying to use. Goodbye and good riddance. Actually I thought it was deleted but it is still here giving me endless grief. Terrible!

It's keep stopping now and then... I am using Motorola edge 40 which comes with stock Android, but this app sucks, it keeps on stopping with a prompt every few minutes, and It also have affected Google logins popups. Bad experience with new update with my new phone.

The carrier services keep stopping. It's also telling me that I am not connected to the internet (I'm using home wifi) and I am not connected to data services. Clearly the bugs are not fixed!

i am often notified that it is running in the background. I didn't open it. There's no app on my phone. I can't stop it and I can't delete it. I don't remember ever putting it on my phone. We own an AC company but we aren't carrier dealers and we don't sell carrier equipment, so why would i ever have put this on my phone ? i think it stowed away on another app and snuck it's way onto my phone. I want it gone.

carrier service is suppose to be a benefit to choosing a carrier. Tell me how i had us cellular pre paid services and when i spoke to the women on the phone she said i have to call her up everytime i change my plan denominations so she can change it on her end. This is a service sold on a top up refill card and they dont have a proper website set up for customers navigating the app to retrieve there information and select options. They get a spot on the shelf in most stores. whattt

Almost every time this app is updated it messes up the data signal. Getting signal becomes weak. This is what happens when you keep on releasing updates without testing it. Fix it!

The ignorance of some reviews really hurts . 1. the provider is responsible for Volte and not Google. 2. here some are apparently not able to read the description. This provides a service and is rather passive. The software cannot be used actively. And if you don't want any data to be sent, don't use a smartphone. The paranoia of some exceeds normal suspicion. These and other apps were integrated into the regular operating system updates before 2017 and were spun off to be better maintained.

This is crazy why do we have to give them permission for everything, first of all I don't even know this was installed on my phone I just happened to look under my Wi-Fi settings and noticed that this thing was automatically on my phone and if you don't approve to all of their settings a lot of things don't work on your phone. Is somebody please tell me why is this am I the only one seeing this!! I've never seen an app make you have to use every setting

Phone does not need this app to work perfectly. Uninstall immediately. This is just another crapware/spyware app to collect data. More apps slow the phone down and drain battery. Many have reported that this app interfere with the messages.

Used to work fine but lately if set to Auto,very slow when says on 4G (probably due poor signal). So why's it choosing 4G then? &Obviously very slow when 2G.So why Auto rarely'prefers' 3G when its best? To test, I changed to '3G only' which was fine, if a bit slow.Also frequent interruptions when it changes over.Auto should prioritize strongest network over fastest if variable signal for smooth experience.

It won't update. I have like 20 other apps that need updated but I'm assuming I have to have this one update before the others??? Can anyone help me out with this problem? Until then I'm leaving this at 1 star. Also when I go into setting and try to hit the update button for Google play it says it'll download the update but then nothing happens.

It causes lots of problems in my phone (1) It always shows No internet available in chrome and Spotify even when my device has a strong internet connection. (2) It always 'kind of' blocks my calls when someone is calling me, it never lets my phone ring, and then later I receive a message saying that I had a missed call from that person.

I generally like the text messaging features like when it shows the message has been received or shows when somebody is replying. But it used to be possible to make a widget to direct message a group of people. Now you can only direct message one person at a time, and my existing shortcut to direct message a group has disappeared with an update. Who asked for this feature to be taken away?

SOLUTION: Very excessive battery usage due to mobile signal standby, 20% per hour while screen is off, even when no signal/airplane mode/sim card disabled! Tested on multiple devices ranging from Android 8 to Android 13. Google Play Services is responsible: in each case, removing SMS permission from all Google apps successfully eliminated the problem. Thousands of people are complaining about this, hope this helps someone. God knows Google will never see this, hope they get new leadership soon.

The app disappointed, right after installing. It's a while that my account is been hacked. And after any installing, the hacker changes all the apps's settings in the way that his nasty presenc won't be violated. But when it came to Carrier Services, it vanished. I'll report all the changes that had been done, under the name of developing. Thank you all.

This app allows access to carrier services far better than the previous update. Whereas before, my carrier services were running sluggish, now they are much faster and more well maintained. I thoroughly enjoy the smoothness and quick transitions. The app operates just as you'd expect, in a fast, complete, not to mention timely, as well as stylish manner. I cannot recommend this enough. Since this app is a gift from god, I say it's high time for a cult to be formed. Hail carrier Services!

Don't agree with terms and conditions, don't agree that body sensors and physical activity sensors are locked permissions that you can't deny. Don't feel comfortable with the amount of data collected by Google applications or who they share that data with. Also when I disabled this application I no longer receive spam calls or texts. When it's enabled I'm receiving at least 6 of each per day. Funny because all the mandatory updates are said to be for security but it seems the contrary.
