Stupid app! Not for navigation. You can share location using google maps

Excellent concept but I can't see how to navigate to a what three word location other than to my current location (using 3rd party maps) , which makes it all rather pointless sending another location in this format to someone else such as a place to meet up at, for example. Been through all the options available. Intrusive permissions required, so uninstalled.

Excellent idea. Poorly executed, depending on what you want from it. Seems an excellent idea in principle, but I for one cannot share my location. Every time I try the other person gets errors or it plain just doesn't work. Edit. If it integrated with Google maps, it would be something else, but it doesn't. Just basically send a w3w link. Also, while other apps have my location down to a very precise location, w3w, seems to get be of by about 30 metres, regularly.

Brilliant idea. Already works very well. Two must add functions for the next version: 1. The ability to add your own personal label to identify each location you've saved. Otherwise they appear in a long list from which you can't easily see which location each three words refers to. 2. The ability to show all your saved locations as pins on a map, and to choose whether to display every location you've saved, or just every location you've saved in an individual list.

Very useful for people who don't understand latitude & longitude, OS Grids and so on. It seems to rely on Google Maps being stored on your phone for off-line use if you can't get Wi-Fi or a mobile signal, which means it would be wise to download the maps before you set out on a journey, and check that any maps you have on your phone haven't expired. It should still work with GPS though, you''ll just not see the map. It would be brilliant if this could be provided as an extension to other mapping apps that use their own offline maps, it would save having to have two sets of maps on the phone.

It did not work. I put in my address, it found my home in the UK. When I put it in, showed me that it was 4000 miles away in Utah! Tried it again, using a box in my drive and it showed me an address in the next street.

Words are definitely easier to remember than GPS coordinates. I wonder why totally random words were chosen for adjacent squares. I was expecting a tree of words. That way each word would've communicated a location with increasing accuracy.

Needed to use it and now you have to faff around registering an account. Defeats the entire point of being able to use it in an emergency. 👎

Forget Postcodes this is the way forward for all delivery drivers, couriers etc, It's free which surprises a lot of people! Just market this app It's awesome

Use it get your parcels delivered, did, the driver still managed to deliver to the wrong address, in a town 8 miles away, the parcel company claim all their drivers have use of the app, I located the driver, he said they have use of the app but most of the drivers don't use it because it takes too long to load the information! N.B. Evri & Amazon definitely do not use the app.

Well that failed. Downloaded the app, press to open it...it flashes white on the screen, then nothing has happened and goes back to the home screen. Repeatedly. Restarted phone. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue. Ah well. Will just use the website I guess, pointless downloading this.

App looks more useful than it really is tbh, there is some value to being able to set a specific location to within 3m but I think that's probably in a small set of very specific circumstances like an emergency. Interface of the app is often a bit of a pain to work with, lacking some innovation in certain aspects like how you have to tag saved location. I imagine someone in the world has a specific job who would find this really useful, but for the average person, it's not exactly an essential.

V IMPORTANT!! Don't just download and think you're covered, you have to make an account!! I had a right faff on the phone to emergency services as I had to create an account and verify my email before I could give them my three words!! Would be 5 stars if there was a way of saying, "yeah I'll make an account in a minute but right now I need an ambulance!"

Great idea for use in emergencies. Not sure why you now need an account! If you need to use the app urgently you don't want to have to faff around creating accounts and logging in. Short sighted decision so now uninstalled

Sometimes words are just plural and hard to understand. Maybe somthing with 4 simpler words would be a lot better. But the concept is very promosing. Hoping for a professional team to make the app and algorithims really perfect and simple to use.

Went for a walk in the New Forest. As I don't stick to well trodden paths I thought this app would be ideal. Upon reaching the car park I had chosen to start from I opened the app and saved my location and off I went. After a few hours and miles I decided to use the What 3 words compass to guide me back to the car. App said 215ft - I knew it was wrong and checked...was 1.5 miles away in a different direction. Google maps got me back.... I won't use this again - nor should you.
