Block your card
Ever lost your card, only for it to turn up the moment you cancelled it? With the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app you can place a temporary block on your card with just a few taps, and it stays blocked until you unblock it, or report it lost or stolen.

Balance After Bills
Balance After Bills helps you plan your finances from one payday to the next. It shows you how much you could have left for the month ahead, once scheduled bills like standing orders, Direct Debits, credit cards, loans and mortgages are taken into account.

Gambling restriction
You can choose to restrict transactions made to gambling businesses, such as casinos and online betting companies, and recurring transactions such as The Postcode Lottery. The block only applies to individual cards held in your name.

Buggy, keeps saying too many password attempts when this is not the case. Stops me logging in, just white screen shown. Rubbish

Entirely redundant. I got a HSBC credit card and installed the app to manage the balance... Absolute waste of time, there is no function to make payments or manage direct debits, literally just serves to advertise further products. Would recommend Virgin Credit instead, very easy to stay in control of your balance and adjust direct debits very easily: far superior to this steaming pile of refuse

It's the best banking app, it's very reliable, very easy to use, and does exactly what I need. I would like to see some features be implemented such as the ability to see your long card details etc but other then that, fantastic app.

The app doesn't work. I keep getting the error saying, "There was an error connecting to our servers. Please try again." I've tried deleting the cache. Reinstalled the app multiple times. Restarting my phone. I have a perfect Internet connection and constantly get the same error. Any advice on how to get this app working?

The good: you can generate codes from the app to access the website, and you can use biometrics. The poor: can only view a limited set of data in the app. Cannot search transactions, nor lookup older ones. No map functionality. No rewards functionality. Frequently jumping between web and app breaking the experience. Registration is a joke, the threat model is clearly designed to protect the bank rather than the customer. So many passwords are needed that one will need to write them down.

Statement dates end before transaction list starts. So, can't see all your transactions. When talking to support to resolve, they fobb you off despite you communicating clearly with instructions about how to solve. Also clearly not English 1st lang speakers. Disappointing when we bother to try to help them log a bug fix backlog item. Fingers in ears. Not interested. Just "reinstall the app". Yeah. That'll work... Not! 😒

Almost perfect. The only issue I seem to have been having for a good while now. Maybe 6 months, is that I can't manage my arranged overdraft on it. Everytime I select that option to takes me to a "logged out" screen so if I want to manage it, I need to go to the website and log in on that. Which can be a ball ache when I want to reduce it before my will power gives in n I just spend it on rubbish 😬

This app could do with some improvements. Neither it nor online banking allows you to see future manual payments set up. The credit card balance takes days to update. Other apps at least show pending transactions immediately. There is also no way as far as I can tell for you to easily check your direct debit arrangements for a credit card and change as needed.

Online banking is good. But whenever I've visited my local high Street bank (Redditch), they've never been able to help, and I get sent to the post office. I think they've forgotten there meant to be a bank!

what you're able to do via the app is very limited. Balance after bills is unclear at best but can sometimes be downright misleading!!

doesn't show you a lookup section solely to see a list of direct debits set up on your account. that's needed and is why the one star score.

Massive annoyance and huge missing feature that you can't download confirmation of payments or transfers that you have made. As screenshots are disabled.

Spent 45 minutes on chat with Ryan today because he only replied every 15minutes... the only advice he gave me to turn on notifications.LOL. Ridicoulous support.Overall it's good.I like it but somehow I cannot make the transfer notifications show up in the task bar.I'm trying everything.it used to work. I wonder if it's a bug or just something in my setup.Samsung Galaxy S23.

Not impressed by this app which seems outdated compared to other banks. All my accounts appear as account numbers and there is no way to "nickname " accounts. The app needs a major upgrade.

This app used to be fine, it just let you do what you wanted it for: banking because you have closed all of the branches. Now it is littered with pushy marketing, pop ups and general noise I can't opt out of. Give me a local branch if you're going to make the app this bad. Let's just say I'm looking at other banks.

Mostly a decent, useful app. Lots of helpful features and good security. The only thing is that despite what device you use, even with a strong connection, it can often take a little while for my accounts to load up
