If I have an option of giving it zero star I will. After the latest update it keeps saying I stalling security update for your files something like that and it keeps moving files from internal storage to internal storage and it even deleted my files and videos now I can't never retrieve those. It used to be very useful to use now it just keeps moving files like that making it annoying.

It has almost every feature that I want in a file manager. However, it is slow in performing an action. For example, if I delete some files, it takes a few seconds. Sometimes, I have to repeat the same action again; because, it falls to complete the action successfully. Hope you will try to improve the app.

It is a very serviceable file manager and the file clean section is very useful for quickly clearing old and unwanted files to increase storage, but there are still a few baffling exclusions like the inability to zip any files, and at least on the Motorola G stylus I have it come with this as the default file management app wether I liked it or not witch is pretty lame.

I love the fact that the app is user friendly. But, Recently, I noticed that my Whatsapp VNs and stickers are stored in the document section as opus files after disabling on WhatsApp.I do not expect to see them because the app shouldn't override the settings on WhatsApp. Plus it makes my documents look messy. I had to delete unwanted files the last time I decluttered my files space, seeing recent voice notes saved on the app now calls for concern. Kindly help fix this. Thanks.

last update made the app unusable. the whole app freezes and it's unresponsive when I try to open it and doesn't display anything. at least the home button works so I can close the crashed app which just displays the home screen but frozen. so now I need to install a third party app to view my files I guess, good job google. EDIT2: after i fully restarted the device I was able to open the app, I managed to send the feedback with system logs, hopefully it's gonna help recreate the glitch/bug.

It's moderate. I like the nearby share feature. But a suggestion to the developers is, please give a FTP server option, it's so much easier to transfer files to/from PC. (For the PC that doesn't have bluetooth/location services Nearby share is useless)

There are some bugs or something like when we open the videos not so smooth while playing and when open the middle or bottom videos position in the playlist and closed the videos, the video position back to upper or first list position not from video actually position. Please fix and improve as soon as possible. Thanks 🙏

Unnecessary animations like a guy throwing a file in a basketball hoop. It slows down the process of file management greatly because I have to wait for the animation to complete. I'm not 5 years old, I don't need a cartoon in my file browser. Also, you can't map network drives which is a major drawback. Way too bloated in the wrong ways, then missing basic features.

The app is good. But there has some problems in this app. Suppose, you open the 'PRIVATE FOLDER.' Some photos and videos are locked on this folder. When I try to open and play the videos or open images on this folder, it has too many time to opening (playing) it. The other suggestion have to. There is no option to 'fit to full screen' in one while playing video. This app would be much more user friendly. Thank you Google. 🙂

When the app came with the phone, it worked fine. I have since had to uninstall it and look at the phone's drive and SD card sideways from my computer. I have the same organization problem with Google Files as I do with Google Photo: Their concept of organization is like playing 52 Pickup with a deck who's cards are sealed in individual Manila envelopes! It's pretty bad when you end up uninstalling an app that came with the phone.

This app turns the screen dark while playing videos, and when I try to change the brightness in my phone it says this app is controlling it. And there is no permission I see that allows it do do that. Also you can't lock your screen while listening to video/audio. Besides that great app. If those 2 things were fixed it would be 5 stars.

There's no option to make a shortcut to a file on the home screen. This is a super basic feature, very disappointed that it's not available. Imagine if Windows or macOS didn't let you create desktop shortcuts to a file? That's exactly what this is like. EDIT (replying to the developer's reply) I am talking about creating a shortcut to a *single file* - the help article you linked does not address that.

I like it. Seems to locate all the files easier and more organized than other apps. There was a delete permanently feature that went away, instead there's a move to the bin one, which I'm used to now. In the former feature, files were deleted instead of moving them to the trash, which includes another step to the procedure.

The Oct 9th update has lost access to all media files stored locally in local phone storage. Pixel 6. Yikes not a good look for Google to have their app fail on their hardware, you would think they test it before release... This app is unusable since the update. Files are at least still accessible via laptop over USB cable. Phewhf. New update, just found out I can't take screenshots or open pdfs in Chrome, as those actions require a function Files app.. Phone is rendered useless can't downgrade

The pdf viewer is useless. It's too basic. The standalone Google pdf viewer was better because it had a scrollbar. Right now I'm trying to view a 300 page pdf, it's taken me over 5 minutes to flick through all the pages to reach the last page 😱 come on Google you can do better than this. This is no replacement for the old Google pdf viewer! 🙄 One other issue, the delete duplicates offers to delete the wrong duplicate photos. The so-called originals are actually the copies! 😡

This is frustrating. I had all my videos in a safe folder. Then, one day, I couldn't access it. It showed this message 'installing security update.' I waited a while, but nothing happened. After that, I went and updated Files, but it still showed the same message. Then I went to the Samsung website, and they said to reinstall the files. When I did that, all my videos were gone—none of the 100 videos were even in the trash bin. This is really disappointing. THOSE VIDEOS TOOK ME MONTHS TO COLLECT

The app does very well. I am not the best with technology, I might be among the worst of my age group, but this app helps me maintain my storage when needed. In turn, that improves my battery & helps my phone run more smoothly. It also notifies me when it suggest that my phone is in need of a clean up. I'm old school, so notifications about suggestions from my phone usually don't get a first thought, let alone second, but if the phone suggests for me to use this app, then I put it to use.

A great app for exploring your files and things of that nature but the interface could be a little more streamlined and clear. I do a lot of work for my phone that deals with all my files and sometimes I'm going back and forth through my files over and over and over and I still forget how to get to some places and I wish it was more intuitive. Also I wish it had root access. 4 ⭐s
