Description of Galaxy Wearable (Samsung Gear)

The Galaxy Wearable application connects your wearable devices to your mobile device. It also manages and monitors the wearable device features and applications you've installed through Galaxy Apps.

Use the Galaxy Wearable application to set up and manage the following features:
- Mobile device connection/disconnection
- Software updates
- Clock settings
- Application download and settings
- Find my Watch
- Notification type and settings, etc.

Install the Galaxy Wearable application on your mobile device, then pair your wearable devices via Bluetooth to enjoy all of its features.

※ Settings and features provided by the Galaxy Wearable application are only available when your wearable device is connected to your mobile device. Features will not work properly without a stable connection between your wearable device and your mobile device.

※ The Galaxy Wearable application does not support the Gear VR or Gear 360.

※ only for Galaxy Buds models, The Galaxy Wearable application can be used with tablets .

※ Supported devices vary depending on your region, operator, and device model.

※ Please allow the Galaxy Wearable application permissions in Android Settings so you can use all the functions in Android 6.0.

※ App permissions
The following permissions are required for the app service. For optional permissions, the default functionality of the service is turned on, but not allowed.

[Required permissions]
- Location: Used to search for nearby devices for Gear through Bluetooth
- nearby devices : Used to search for nearby devices for Gear through Bluetooth ( Android 12 or higher )
- Storage: Used to transmit and receive the stored files with Gear
- Telephone: Used to check device-unique identification information for updating apps and installing plug-in apps
- Contacts: Used to provide services that need to be linked with accounts using registered Samsung account information
- Calendar : Used to sync and show your events on your watch.
- Call logs : Used to show call history on your watch.
- SMS : Used to sync and show messages on your watch

Something is wrong with the last update and it's taking too long to fix. It will no longer connect my watch to my phone, even though the phone's Bluetooth said it was paired. Evey time I went to connect through this app, it would spin and spin (literally, I did it one time before bed and it was still spinning 8 hours later). I tried to unpair and re-connect, and now it won't connect at all! I see I am not the only one having these problems, and some have had it for months. Useless app.

Was great. But recent changes have really become annoying. The good night mode used to work when you fell asleep and turn off when you woke up. Reliably for me. Now, it's not even an option. Par for the course for Samsung. Edit: months in and the app is still missing features it had in the past. Usable and great features removed. They've made several updates since removing the auto detect night mode and it's apparently not coming back.

The app is pretty straight forward, not difficult to use, mostly. There's just not enough variables when inputting your food items to choose from. Samsung has also taken away some of the original features which is what I originally got the watch for - to track my blood pressure, pulse rate & oxygen level. So now I'm just using it for counting steps & tracking weight loss.

For almost 2 weeks now I haven't been able to use the app. My watch would lose battery super fast and the app would force close. I've tried uninstalling and installing back and it just freezes at 82%. When it did finally install, it would constantly disconnect from my phone. I have tried contacting Samsung and I haven't gotten a reply back. I was hesitant about buying a Samsung device and now I see I was right to have that hesitation.

After the last update, the watch stopped working properly. I was previously very impressed with the fitness tracker and used it extensively. Now, it never tracks anything properly. It starts and stops on its own. At the present moment, the watch is sitting on my desk and the fitness app is tracking a walk & run. I've reset the watch and reinstalled the software multiple times. VERY disappointed.

Love the functionality and easy to respond to texts and email, especially with quick responses that I can customize. Like being able to talk my text. Using the blood pressure monitoring, it's in trial stages, but good to know that I can track it, even if all the bugs aren't worked out, it seems to be getting more accurate as i use it. Lots of great functions beyond counting steps and the generalized fitness features. love being able to check my calendar, as well.

More trouble than its worth,spend way to much time reconnecting updating and just trying to keep it running. Just work that's all I want. Not to look and see that its disconnected AGAIN! Or that it has turned on WiFi? Why? Hate the updates that remove content that I'm using. The "fix" is never as good as it was. How about extending battery life instead of adding more sub programs to drain it faster. I will not be upgrading to the 4. Really miss my fitbit!

I received the the watch as a Christmas present, and within a couple weeks the step tracker has completely stopped working. It doesn't seem to be exclusively my watch either, as I've seen many others complain of this issue, but no solution found. The app and software are updated, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, turned everything off and then back on, and still no steps tracked. The app doesn't give you the option to trouble shoot any further, and seems to be full of ads instead.

I use the app with the galaxy buds and it works fine. However I miss the option to make the 3 taps customizable as the press and hold option is. I would love to be able to control the volume and control the surrounding noise at the same time. Again, please LET the USERS CUSTOMIZE the functionality of the 3 continuous taps as well as the press and hold. I believe this will improve the user experience. Thanks.

I actually love the watch (Samsung G2). I have not been able to get all the apps working properly, but the ones that I care about the most do work. The initial setup was a pain in the ass! I had to do a factory reset on the watch and reboot the watch and my phone a couple times and it started working. If it wasn't for the difficulty installing and linking to my phone (Samsung Galaxy S8+) and some of the apps not working, I would give it 5 stars.

Honestly hard to find something good to say about this app. The UI frequently breaks from platform patterns, which wouldn't be so bad, but it wanders off into unintuitive territory. It drains significant battery in the background, and constantly places useless, non-informational notifications in the notification panel, and they frustratingly can't even be dismissed. If you want to do anything useful with the app, you have to install separate plugins like it's a web browser from the early 2000's. Error messages are as frequent as they are unhelpful. It's just... not good.

Pretty good, but could be better. I installed the app for my new Galaxy earbuds. Would be great if it had a true equalizer instead of just an option to select presets. The most annoying thing by far is that the ambient sound setting gets turned off everytime I remove the buds from my ears. I use them at work, so even though I can hear a person who is talking to me while they are still in, I remove them so as not to be rude. The amibent sound setting should have a checkbox option for "always on".

I like the features that I have used which are primarily the step counter, the sleep monitor, and the stair climber. There's lots of apps on it that I don't use. For the most part it works really well I've had it for 6 months now and had one issue where it got stuck in a mode that was draining the battery but after a little research found out how to turn it off and have had no other issues 6 months and so far it's going strong.

I Like my new phone! I like not having to carry my smartphone everywhere. I use it to send/receive texts, take phone calls, and access my emails. I don't know if I can send them too (I'm still learning how to use it). But as I've been learning, the Galaxy Watch does have some drawbacks: 1. It doesn't work in some buildings. I've found that unlike my smartphone it's paired too, the Galaxy Watch doesn't transmit as well, so there are dead zones in buildings that normally isn't there with a smartphone. But that's expected with a micro-transmitter, so I've gotten used to going outside at times. 2. Be careful with your apps and watchface you use. It drains the battery faster. I've learned to cut back on my apps by keeping only the apps that I need and not want. Since I did that, my watch lasts all day without having to turn on the power save function. I recommend shutting it off at night to conserve power, if you can. 3. Because of pairing, I don't get messages as quickly. So if my signal is week (i.e. inside a building), and you need something quick, think about where you are before you send or receive a text/call. Other than what's above, the benefits outweighs the drawbacks, and I highly recommend it!

App uninstalled itself. When it comes to the overall functionality of the application, it does what it's supposed to and all of the settings are easy to find and control. I haven't had any issues until recently where I woke up and the application was gone. Don't know if it was a glitch with in Android or the app but the app needed to be reinstalled and I had to go through the process of re-pairing My devices. Watch was the most annoying. This only happened once so no big deal.

I would love to give this 5 stars, but I can't. When I first got my watch, I had no issues getting notifications on it from incoming texts or calls. Now, however, I dont get either of them. I've deleted and reset both my watch, AND my phone notifications are still not working. The latest update killed this, and I hate it so much. My steps are off, I also wear a fitbit, and the steps are about double on there compared to this app. It's very frustrating. FIX THIS PLEASE!

Disconnected from watch, then will not reconnect. App keeps crashing every 2 minutes giving me a notification saying it has stopped working. Made my watch useless. Update: Still broken. Watch has been collecting dust. Did everything samsung said, and they're not doing anything to help. Tons of people have paperweights right now and it's terrible. It's funny seeing all these bot comments samsung pays for to keep the rating up. Never wanted to switch to apple before this, now I'm considering.

I would give this 4 stars, except there is one thing that makes this the worst app ever, and that is that no matter how many times I turn off the auto workout feature (of which turns on even when doing light things like washing the dishes) it keeps turning it back on! And this in itself wouldn't be so bad, except it destroys my already short battery life in my galaxy watch. It's so frustrating, every time I turn it off, there is an update a few days later, and you ppl have it turned back on
