1) Does not let you select an episode or programme to 'play next' - it puts it instead to the very bottom of the play queue and you have to drag it all the way up, which often results in selecting something else to play in error 2) When you play a live radio station you lose your entire play queue. Sometimes one wants to listen to something live and then return to recorded programmes. This is such limitation I now use a different app for listening to live radio.

It's just the best music app out there. Particularly love 1X good music the whole day. And with all the potcasts you can have a wide range to listen to. Besides that, the fact that it's a radio station you do not have that strange sensation that you're getting bored even of your favourites. Radio always has the surprise, and in this kind of cases is good to give the control to the ones who now 'bout music. The D&B Show is definitely the best ever.

I genuinely can't believe how awful this app is. They're constantly advertising it but putting effort into actually making it work is apparently too much. Constantly stopping with a message "there was an error." If I move away from the app to do something else or turn off the screen, it will also stop immediately. That's ridiculous. Its an audio app I shouldn't have to be constantly watching it.

Unfortunately it's got too many shortcomings to give it 5 stars. For example, when listening to a podcast with multiple episodes you can't guarantee it will automatically play them in the correct order which is very confusing if you don't realise. The worst thing in my experience is the search functionality. If you don't know the name of the item you're looking for (but know something about the content) it won't find it so you end up searching on Google... which does find it

Seems like a lot of people have technical issues with the app. I've not had any issues but am not in UK and using an Android, if that's got anything to do with it. In terms of the actual content, I love BBC Sounds! Excellent podcasts, very entertaining and high quality productions. I take BBC Sounds everywhere with me: during exercise, waiting in queues, doing chores etc. Highly recommend!

Great content, but would love to be able to make a "queue" of programmes/podcasts to listen to on a long drive, for example. Yes, you can binge a series by allowing auto-play, but if you've got only got one episode to catch up on for each a few different programmes, you have to faff around selecting them as the last one finishes, which is nowhere near as safe as having a "play next" or "add to queue" option which would allow them all to be selected before you set off...

Grand, seems to work OK, just use it for radio 4. Slightly resent having to register/get an app when all this used to be available via the website. They gradually choked off the other outlets (used tune in radio for a bit). Still, content is better than anywhere else, so have to lump it. The podcasts are still available on the website so hoover a few of them up while you can.

I was listening to an interesting interview with organist Anna Lapwood, approx 30 mins into Women's Hour, I was distracted for a few mins. I wanted to go back to listen to what I'd missed (like on YouTube) but was amazed to find this is not an option. In other words, I'd have to listen to the first 30 mins again! First and last time I'll listen to bbc sounds.

Has great content. There can be few tastes not catered for. Slightly fiddly to work your way around. Personally I preferred the previous lay out. 20/7/23: Update Frustratingly unstable, with seemingly endless buffering while moving through the app/choices. Content still excellent when I FINALLY get there!
Bridget Whell
Excellent content. Options are practical and content varied and constantly provides something to suit. However, often difficult to navigate and sometimes can't find my way to or from what I want so hugely frustrating. Already listened is not reliable and episodes often not in consistent order so confusing.
Ian Cunningham
Interface not ideal . The download description overwrites other text making it impossible to identify episode nunbers. When you have limited connectivity you have to wait several minutes to get the option to use your downloads. That should be an option as soon as the app loads. Not sure why they don't have a download serirs option ...having to download each episode is tedious .

I use this app on my laptop, mobile and Roku StreamBar, where it doesn't have the Stations/Schedules feature. It's really inconvenient, going to another device to check something or plan an evening's listening. If that feature is worth having on a phone, why isn't it worth having on my Roku? Other comments about BBC 6music dispensing with their best presenters time and time again have been directed elsewhere.

If forcing us to switch from our favourite most accessible Podcast app to BBC Sounds wasn't bad enough, this app is deeply flawed - audio is far too quiet, no auto 5 second rewind upon pause, no landscape mode to improve stereo sound, auto downloading rarely seems to work, and podcasts don't auto delete after listening, takes ages for the app to start of there's no network but you have pre downloads to listen to, etc.... Struggling to find anything positive about BBC App!! It's awful!

On my last phone I used Sounds through the website for years (not the app) and never had any trouble. New phone: the website buffered and stopped regularly every 8 mins or so and I had to press restart. So tried the app.Brilluant for about 4 days then it stopped responding and reinstalling didn't help. Back to the website and the shopping and starting.

I find certain certain podcasts a bit tricky to navigate sometimes and some series I have subscribed to don't play automatically at the end of each episode but those are niggles rather than problems. I devour the true crime series and Uncanny, The Witch Farm and The Battersea Poltergeist are brilliant. I have really enjoyed listening and do so on a daily basis.
Raz Razzy
Downloads help pass a journey or commute. There's so much there. I like Sounds of the whichever decade of music you are into. True Crime, documentaries and true stories as well as drama. The Diary of a Nobody is excellent from a historical and entertainment viewpoint.. And the Sleeping forecast fearuring the shipping forecast. So randomly bizarre it sounds like a joke but is great for creating a relaxed stste for drifting off. Haha. Currently listening to Life Changing.
Ken Ume
Good content but the user experience is poor. You can't play episodes in series order in the play queue. By default episode 10 plays before episode 1 & there's no way to change that. The queue plays everything below a track and completely ignores everything above. There's no one click way to download entire series. Poor.

March 2022: Interface tries to do too many things and is successful for none. Thus wasting a lot of time. Would be better if it could be customised. October 202: interface is still extremely limited with. Now being told that I've subscribed to programmes that I've never listened to. So, zero stars if possible.
