I miss Google Play Music but this app has surprised me. A little bit of a pain to find your uploaded music but other than that the app works great. Love the new lyric feature and love the dark mode. The algorithm is getting better but still plays a couple of odd song in a generated playlists. When the music is bumping it will play a out of place ballad.

This app is still quite inferior to Spotify & Apple Music. You get it free with a YT premium sub, which is why I use it. It's frustrating that I don't get the updates first, being a premium user. It still isn't intuitive like Spotify. The features just aren't up to par. There's a bug where my phone asks if I want to connect to my soundbar every time I use the app, even tho my phone isn't connected to my TV. It's been 6+ months & YT still can't fix it. I def wouldn't pay for the app alone.

I usually really like YouTube Music, but ever since I transferred everything to a new phone it's been VERY buggy. Half of my playlists won't fully download because 10 songs are constantly always "downloading" when it's been 4 months since I got this phone. I also am having trouble adding certain songs, because no matter how many times I click add, it won't appear in my playlist. According to the playlist art, and even the song list it says it's been added but it doesn't appear.

It's a great app, even with the price increase. Just keep hitting the thumbs up/down buttons and give it time to get to know what you like. It's been a long time since I gave a thumbs down, but I'm giving a LOT of thumbs up! It's giving me songs from bands I've never heard of but it's all songs I like, with NO commercials. Songs I like get automatically downloaded later, when I'm on wifi so I can still listen nonstop when I'm in areas with no signal. This is just what I need in my life.

Constantly switches music genres to pop while I'm driving. I don't like pop. I don't have any pop in any of my Playlist. It's really annoying. Update: Stopped paying for premium. Ads are more often than music, but the real kicker is you can't use the app in the background. Meaning, I can't listen to music while I drive or have the screen off. Which is what 99% of users do. Basically, the app is worthless unless you pay for the premium.

The latest update turns a reasonably ok music platform (which I do pay for). Into a mess of social media. I DO NOT NEED LINES OR COMMENDS IN THE MAIN LOCATION OF MY USER INTERFACE. I need basic controls, that have to do with music playback. Why is the first option like (with a counter of how many other people liked the song?) Comments?? I'm listening to music, usually while doing something else. Don't clutter my user interface. This is an absolutely awful update. I miss Google play music.

This app is great and works well with Google/android car play devices. The music selection on the categories is great im always findin new music. My daughter loves being able to control her Playlist with a swipe. Didn't give 5 stars because it is expensive for a music app. I'm always worried they will raise the rate every year, and I won't be able to keep it because it's a WANT item not a NEED item when it comes to budgeting.

I would give it a 5 star provided, they improve their app interface a little bit. They should have a button to be able to sort or filter songs within individual playlists. This way even if we have repeats we can remove then and arrange the songs alphabetically or by the date they have been added. Otherwise, it is difficult to look for your favorite song in the playlists.

YouTube Music has been my go to when comes to quality music and tunes. The only issues have been having lately is the playback Feature and whenever I try to tap the play icon it doesn't pause the song I'm playing in the background and I have to go the app itself and do it which doesn't help because the point of the playback is to do that, but without going to the app. Another problem is the Constant audio issues when playing in the background

EDIT: there's no way to report incorrect lyrics, and the "song will play next"/"saved to [playlist]"/"added to library" banners at the bottom display for way too long. stopped working completely 6-14-23, shuffle function needs a lot of work as it only seems to shuffle the most recently added songs to your likes/ playlist. Also adds songs your thumbs upped from your YouTube account and plays them in your liked songs and even when you remove the thumbs up or thumbs down it, they'll still play.

This app has been crashing for over a month now, with no resolve. It will only play consistently if it is casted onto another device-which is completely pointless for an app, as it is meant for mobility. Since the transition from Google play music, have been thoroughly disappointed in this app and general performance. The algorithms for autoplays for the opportunity to discover new music of similar artists have not been rewarding, as it was with Google play music,and a disservice to new artists

Two things: a) sound fidelity and absolute volume DESTROY Spotify. So you know I'm being fully honest, Spotify does blow YouTube Music out of the water when it comes to classical music compendiums. I was a Spotify paying customer for over 10 years and I've never looked back. For electronica and modern music, it's like I'm listening to those tracks for the very first time. I hear notes I could never discern on Spotify. b) touch optimization: fewer clicks to add a song bc of predictive assist

"Hands down the best app. I just wish it had more of a random shuffle option like Pandora. If it does create a playlist, it'll have random songs, but they'll be songs I've definitely heard before a bunch because they're in my playlist."... Update - since last reviewing, the "stations" are definitely a lot more random with songs I've not heard yet now rather than just similar songs from my playlist. Great improvement.

Easy to use and fine overall, but it is absolutely horrible at recommending music. If you want to listen to something, it better be something specific you can search or one of your pre-existing playlists. I have no idea why it struggles so much with recommending things that aren't either completely unrelated to my interests or something I've listened to a thousand times already.

Best music app. Hands down. Any music you can find on YouTube you can find here, so the selection is first rate. There's also more like stand-up comedy and pod casts you can explore. Never had a problem navigating the app despite its many functions and just crazy amount of content. The monthly subscription is cheap as well.

It was great at first, played music and I got folders for all my songs, not even an ad! Untill about a week in of useing it. I couldn't play music off screen unless I bought a subscription, I was bombarded by ads, about 3 per song (the songs where only about 3 minutes long, the ads where 30 seconds each) And had to pay a subscription for that as well! If we had all the features before, like being able to play music with the tab closed, I pretty sure everyone wouldn't mind a few ads!

They should have kept Google Play Music instead of pushing out this worthless app. Can't play music with the screen off. Can't play music in the background. Can't play music through Android Auto. Maybe you can if you pay... Why would you pay when other music apps work just fine for free/with adds? We all will be forced to switch but it doesn't mean I'm going to switch to YouTube Music. Got a new phone and came back to check out changes; it's still an awful app.

I like it a lot. I use it to set the pace and mood for my jogging workouts and to chillaxe. There's a very wide selection of my preferred music genres (Jazz, R&B Oldies, Gospel, Motown, Soul, Latin, Blue-eyed Soul). Fairly reliable functionality. Somewhat frustrating search results. Lost the "Save to Playlist" function (while song is playing). Please make the fonts of the 2-line (Title/Artist) lists and 'Search' results different from each other. Make the 'Title' line Bold or ALL CAPS.
