They will boot off their regular customers after a while. I have been sending money for months, maybe a year now and if they find one single thing they don't like, even the purpose of the sent money, they will suspend your account. Customer Service doesn't even help, everything reported is unclear in the Customer Service dept. Resending or correcting past info you have to jump through hoops as well esp to cancel them. I don't write reviews usually, but this needs to be heard.

I chatted with Maria today by chat help. My transfer was blocked for some reason, and required to have a phone call. Except I am traveling and will incur roaming expenses per the phone carrier text message. Remitly, how do you solve this problem of needing to chat with someone who is traveling abroad? WhatsApp was stated as not allowed. Also for some reason, Maria didn't answer my question regarding why a copy of the chat would get sent to my email. Any other support chat does this for QA

Paid for express, still waiting for it to transfer through still pending a review, it almost been 3 days, gave them id still pending, it use to good now this bs app is not worth the headache, if it's an emergency, and your family member needs it they don't care just waste time it's quicker to send by western union, I will never transfer through this app again not happy!

Remitly is very good and very fast. The money is sent faster to a bank than most of the apps where you have to wait for hours or the following day to reach the bank. However I don't know how they deal with large transactions and their rates is much lower at times in comparison to my alternatives.

I have used this tons to send money to my wife, and it's always worked perfectly. Transfers usually go through much faster than the estimate they give you, and their rates are very fair compared to other transfer apps.

Bad app - didnt let me send money to close friend for ""breaking user agreement ". I dont know how trying to use the app for its function counts as me breaking user agreement. Stupid. The gentleman on the phone trying to help me was very nice at least. The only good thing from this.

Remitly is a great way to send money gifts to loved ones and friends in need. it's not expensive and it's all done rapidly. with cheep fees for transfers I have to be truthful though I did have some issues as business goes there are ups, downs, and tech issues. they were fast to fix the issues. with downs there's also feelings. they were very courteous, helpful, and friendly. thank you Remitly for your services

Wow, this app is both easy to set up and safe and secure for international money transfer. I have been sending money from NZL to Uganda (via the mobile money option) and the transaction is processed with the same day, literally in few hours. It's great.

Very poor customer support when my transaction didn't go through. They said they would follow up & call me back. Still waiting for that call. I had to call back & get angry because my questions were not answered directly. Like they reply from a script only. Taking my business elsewhere!

They actually deserve a rating lesser than 1. They deliberately show you a lesser exchange rate and then justify it by saying its a market rate and when you go and validate it, that amount shown is lesser than the actual market rate and on top of it they charge a transfer fee (understandable). Read reviews from other users they also got shown a different in the name of market rate. These folks are out to scam you please start using othet apps and platforms.

I can't leave no stars, or negative stars. I can't ever just use Remitly for it's intended purpose, to send money. After I make a few transactions, they get suspicious about something and I have to answer the same questions over and over to unsuspended my account, and I'm still unable to send money. I'm going somewhere else.

Customer service reps do not appear to be fully versed on how transfer process works. Example, I have made several transfers to the same person, same bank, no change in info. Latest transfer attempt, did not process. Was not notified until the recievr followed up with me. At that point contacted Remitly where the rep just simply retried to send instead of escalating/ contacting recipient bank & stated it would now go through. It didnt.

As for me sending mPesa it was very smooth but their registration was very complicated I was about to give up they insisted on the home address to be visible on the utilities bill. The application is excellent gives you step by step process.

Money was transferred with them 15 days ago and they are still sitting on it. Don't worry though every customer service rep has a script saying the exact same thing apologizing. Called three times and get same script but no avail. Not a big transfer only $50 but they can't seem to get there end done. They will gladly take the money. But they never deliver it to person it belongs to.

Worst experience ever. Do not use this service. They took forever to verify the account. Then they had a "processing error" and couldn't send it to my recipient. Their answer to the problem was "can we send it to someone else?". Useless, painful and stressful. If I could give them zero stars, I would.

App would be convenient if only money is delivered instantly as promised all the time. If you want instant delivered of your money to your loved ones, when it matters, don't use this App. You can never tell if they will deliver or not, Don't risk. I have tried using it many times and when it mattered most, on weekends, when my relative couldn't go to the bank, I used this App and was disappointed. They wouldn't even agree to a refund until 10 business days later. What an anguish 😧

I was able to use my remitly account for transfers for almost a month, no complaints, until it got suspended due to violation of rules. On asking, they said the ID provided by me was not valid (although it was an up to date resident permit, clearly scanned). However, they were not very cooperative in helping me to re-activate my account or provide an alternative ID which they would accept. My account is still suspended without a proper reason, so overall, not a very good experience.
