Salvage Drifter
The new Firefox is absolutely headed in the right direction. I've been using Preview (now Firefox Beta) as my primary browser for months and it's awesome. However, like usual they still leave Marketing, Experiments, and Telemetry enabled by default. I understand Telemetry but the other two options should be opt-in only Mozilla. In addition they have thus far only added support for just a few addons which is a huge problem for some.

Pretty sleek. I use this browser as my main browser and the original Firefox as a backup for missing features, such as certain add-ons for specialized uses, downloading large files, printing, etc. I'm thoroughly impressed by the new UI, where the navigation bar is set at the bottom and not the top.

Prefect execution of the computer desktop web to the lighter mobile version. I can have many tabs open and they are easily recognizable when scrolling thorough them. This is a very well made application for Android. The speeds are fast and I can switch between the mobile and desktop available within the app easily. Perfect 10!

Was doing ok, but then, after the last few updates, it started showing the same symptoms regular FF has shown. Safesearch settings won't stay where I set them, it seems to have become slower, and when I try to watch a video, it show the player with static, and it says Oops! This video is no longer available. I don't have this problem with Chrome AT ALL, so I had to uninstall this piece of junk, and I switched to the Kiwi browser, because it loads pages faster, and is just plain better!

I was looking for a browser alternative that let me install the Ublock Origin extension. The normal Firefox browser is great, but scrolling with flicks is frustrating. Firefox Beta allows access to the about:config menu to change the apz.fling_accel_interval_ms setting, which I lowered from 700 to 150. Now the app works great and also doesn't use much battery life. Love it!

Can't change homepage, and the default one is terrible. There is no way to auto close tabs upon exit like the non beta version can. Bookmarks don't show up when clicking on the address bar anymore, have to go to the menu just to find them now. Missing 90% of settings non beta version has. Very horribly designed compared to non beta version. Terrible experience overall and I know it will not change when the main version gets switched over :/

Sure wish I didn't need to use a beta version just for simple features like the about:config page... Tabs still un-load themselves seconds after a switch pages or apps, even with all the relevant options I can find enabled. Pretty annoying when almost every page has to reload every time I look at it. REALLY annoying when trying to fill out forms and get info from another app. And somehow these issues are still completely ignored 6 months after they promised to fix them. =/

New major updates loses useful features, such as: tab reordering, saving pages as pdf, searching for open tabs in the search bar. However, it does gain a new interface and some performance improvements. Some features lost weren't added before the non-beta version of Firefox is updated. I will update this review when the lost features are back.

It's a sad state to see Firefox so watered down. Some years ago Mozilla went through a redesign state of FF4A to make it faster. At first it had several options like being able to save webpages for offline access be it text (built-in reader), take a full-page screenshot or save as .pdf (collections is no a replacement for these, not at all) among other useful settings. Today Firefox for Android is but a webviewer w/ bookmark and sync capabilities. The whole world isn't always connected.

As others are saying, the update to this app is aweful. For me, it's the tab menu. It makes absolutely no sense in a ui/ux sense. You press a button and you get a menu that is scrollable and can be dismissed with a downward swipe. It makes it impossible to look for the tab you wanted and annoying to use because I constantly dismiss the menu by accident. Secondarily, if the menu is swipe dismissable why is it not swipe motion to bring it up.

It might be more stable, not sure. The new UI for managing tabs is pretty hellish. After a couple updates Firefox had what I thought was the best interface for managing tabs. Now hands down the worst. I don't recommend. Moving to Vivaldi mobile browser. Will be checking in every now and then to see when the fix will be rolling out.

Soul is the best browser. But that's after you set it up. Out of the box, this is the better browser. It does have some UI issues and oddities, especially when using it fast and it does use too much battery life for some reason, but sensible options, and add ons out of the box make up for it. I would like to see the UI worked on even more, a sensible incognito mode that lets YOU choose if you want the data saved (but separate) like you can on Soul browser, and maybe a inbuilt vpn like others.

The new update is very fast. Thank you for that. And I don't hate the new UI either. But downloads are broken and the sometimes it seems like the browser miscommunicates with sites or something.... I am on a Gbit fiber connection with a router to push it and a modern phone cable of those speeds... I shouldn't be having these issues. That being said.... This is the beta and people should expect things like this to happen. All in all... please just fix the downloading.

I love this browser, however there are a few issues. 1: I want to permanently enable the request desktop site option, but sadly the browser doesn't support that. 2: I would like sidebar swipe features to get to bookmarks and other tools/shortcuts faster, for when I'm already in a site and don't want to press menu at the top of the screen.

I really enjoy the visuals of the new design, but it seems like a lot of features were lost along with it for some reason. Tab syncing is now one way only. So I can send tabs to other machines I've logged into with my Firefox profile but I can't open synced tabs on my phone from other MACHINES. Nearly all plug-ins just straight up disappeared. DEFINITE 5 star if some of the missing features come back. UPDATE: tab syncing is back, Firefox is rad!

Speed is much better than the old version, but room for improvement. I like collections, but they don't sync. Visual tab representation has gotten much better in July '20 release. Still needs more add-ons (more are coming), URL bar should stay at the bottom when selected, and Top Sites/Collections links should be editable (at least the name). In addition, it would be nice to easily access Top Sites/Collections in private mode.

Glad to see this make it from preview into beta!! Love the new UI change. It may be a learning curve at first, but I've been using this since the initial preview & its so much more intuitive once you get used to it. Almost all browser UIs are too much like a desktop computer. This browser beta has reimagined the user interface for the modern phone. Thank you Mozilla.

Webpages are cached and are usually reloaded from that cache when the app is restarted, which can be slow and can show outdated information. Otherwise, I find the browser pretty snappy. In terms of features, I enjoy the new tablet mode interface! Pull down to refresh still hasn't been implimented, however. There is currently an allowlist of extensions, and the allowlist hasn't changed for a while. I enjoy using this browser for the most part.
