Threema is the world’s best-selling secure messenger and keeps your data out of the hands of hackers, corporations, and governments. The service can be used completely anonymously. Threema is open source and offers every feature one would expect from a state-of-the-art instant messenger. The app also allows you to make end-to-end encrypted voice, video, and group calls. Using the desktop app and the web client, you can also use Threema from your desktop.

PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY
Threema is designed from the ground up to generate as little data on servers as possible. Group memberships and contact lists are managed on your device only and never stored on our servers. Messages are immediately deleted after they have been delivered. Local files are stored encrypted on your mobile phone or tablet. All this effectively prevents the collection and misuse of your personal information, including metadata. Threema is fully compliant with the European privacy legislation (GDPR).

ROCK-SOLID ENCRYPTION
Threema end-to-end encrypts all your communication, including messages, voice and video calls, group chats, files, and even status messages. Only the intended recipient, and nobody else, can read your messages. Threema uses the trusted open source NaCl cryptography library for encryption. The encryption keys are generated and safely stored on the users’ devices to prevent backdoor access or copies.

FULL ANONYMITY
Each Threema user receives a random Threema ID for identification. A phone number or email address is not required to use Threema. This unique feature allows you to use Threema completely anonymously – no need to give up private information or to open an account.

OPEN SOURCE AND AUDITS
The source code of the Threema app is open for everyone to review. On top of that, renowned experts are regularly commissioned to conduct systematic security audits of Threema’s code.

look at you Threema, still costing $6. some say that's bold when Signal exists, and is both better and free. I say never change

I like it for absence of registration with telephone number or email. Unfortunately it's not popular among my circle. I don't understand people who use Signal and all other messangers for privacy, because there is a telephone number registration. Maybe because it is more convenient and understandable for people.

The app looks solid, but we're missing a couple of key functions, like reacting to messages in group chats and the ability to have a link/qr/whatever to invite other people in the chat (which can also lead them to the store to buy the app, you know) , overall nice experience, but not many people use the app because, cheap bastards and such and I would like it to be better so I can recommend it to more people. Thanks!

Everything worked so far but there is no Online and last seen option.

Overall good, but has some annoying bugs. For example the search function is really buggy and doesn't jump to each word that I'm looking for. I press up and down buttons but most of the time, only the number counts up and down, chat is stuck at the same place. Generally, it seems like development of this app has stalled a bit.

This is a good app with some nice features, particularly uncompressed image sharing. A couple of things I'd suggest. Why can't you thumb up posts in group chats? This is an essential feature for me. A quick response option, the perfect lazy solution. The other thing is the chat bubbles. Grey, grey, grey everywhere. It's a bit bland. I prefer blue, like Signal and iMessage. Some colour options would be nice. Other than that, a decent effort indeed. Keep up the good work!

It's a pity you have to pay before you can even install it because most people will probably pick an alternative. It's already hard enough to convince prople to use Signal instead of Whatsapp, even if it's easily refundable. The one-time charge is more than fair and it's elegible for the family library, too. Priceless features: No necessary binding to a phone number or email address unless you want this. It's also available as Threema Libre from the company outside the Playstore. Recommended.

The app in general is quite good and feels secure. I'm no IT security expert so cannot really verify 😊. Unfortunately, messages and particularly images take a long time to be delivered and sometimes they don't get delivered at all! When sending a single image, the issue only occurs rarely but when sending multiple images at the same time, the issue occurs almost always!

It is a very secure messaging app. If you want to be sure nobody ever gets access to your data, Threema is an excellent choice. The push notifications didn't work on my Galaxy A8 at first, but there's a troubleshooting page that explained how to fix it and they work now. Using multiple devices with one account is very difficult with Threema. That's probably the biggest drawback for me.

This is a must have app. If your having any problems with txt message taking forever to send turn off power save mode for the app. Once I did that every thing works great
