EDIT: Held down the reset, tried again the next day, and it hooked up fine. No idea why it didn't work the first time. Leaving the old review because the experience was still frustrating, but bumping up rating. Asking me for the password I created, but I never created a password. Default password doesn't work and there's no "Forgot Password" option. Manual has no other advice than a factory reset.

Only issue: Can't delete/remove a device that I no longer have. Had router working for over 4 and a half years and was starting to disconnect. That's a decent lifecycle. Replaced that router with same brand and this app added the new router. Fine so far. But now it just shows the old one as"offline". Google for answer and the one they give does not work in the app (press and hold and a menu will come up with(-)

For the most part I have gotten a very good experience with this device. It's got one issue I have not been able to resolve yet. If I don't connect to it for, say, a few days. I usually have to power it down and then back up in order to get both A&C channels to be able to get full thorough put. Sometimes I can get the 2.4GHz to stay on for short periods unused. But not the 5.2GHz. Which causes the reboot. Probably needs some firmware updates or possibly a factory reset and config redone.

Wow, just wow. So seemless and painless to connect to all my devices. I was confused trying to login manually to various repeaters via IP addresses and the like, then I installed this app (even though I was fairly certain it would confuse matters more). All of a sudden I could see every device, its model name, and an icon showing its physical appearance! Nothing could be simpler. If all apps were this easy we'd achieve world peace in a fortnight.

Had this for a while, while it does work well as others have mentioned it's so basic. I find myself needing to visit the web portal address to remedy certain things. Having an app with more features and just providing that shortcut to the full web version with more control over our router would make this so much better. I find myself on this once in a while and for a matter of seconds before I'm needing to go to the web.

Terrible. Have to Uninstall and reinstall all the time. Also I live in a small apart and it struggles to stay connected to the wifi. May have to return. It also sucks that you can't change the password from the main wifi password. This allows everyone connected to the main wifi to use the extender. I haven't had a problem with that but it's sucks I can't protect my own device.

A little confusing, the interface and eventual UX could be better. Still not sure why my printer, which is on the network and usable, isn't showing up in the list of devices. Also, so devices apparently show as unknown, so I have to guess at what they are (literally only an asterisk (*) as an identifier). Overall the app does what it needs to though.

This is a review of the Archer AX11000 router and the app, which didn't work. The router set up easily, and the app installed. That was the end of easy. Some devices failed to ever connect to the internet through the router, whiles others had intermittent internet access. Some connected to the router, while others failed to ever connect. The ethernet ports worked, and the guest network worked more often than the secured networks. Frustrating days. Happy to return the router, uninstall the app.

Pretty good user interface, although the Linksys one is a little simpler. But I'm overall happy with the TP-Link, especially the much less expensive price vs Linksys. Performance is excellent. Signal strength goes far and wireless speeds are great. Size is good because it's a little smaller than average and I was easily able to find a spot for it that was out of the way. I will definitely recommend to others.

I have both a TP-Link Router and a TP-Link USB WiFi (card?) and I have never had any product that is made as well as TP-Link's products are. To add onto this, this app is well made, and seems to be updated regularly. So not only do their products work well and work without problems, the software for them (When Applicable) is made just as high quality as the hardware.

I looked for ways to rename devices on my Network, so I knew exactly what is what. I HATE that the ONLY way to do this is through the APP. It SHOULD have all the capabilities in the software/firmware. BUT NO.. I have to load some app on my secure phone. The Router is awesome! Great range, easy set-up! But NOT having ALL the functionality such as ability to RENAME devices through the local web interface and forcing us to install an app is just PLAIN STUPID!!!

Bring all functions back to router pages. Not everyone even has a device that runs apps. But you can't activate "pro" functions without such. And must keep router bound to the app. Also Must allow remote access. Not something everyone wants or needs. This remote access is allowed even if you had turned remote access off in the router. Despite needing app for certain "pro" functions, there are other advanced options it tells you to access via a browser.

Not enough control over the router in Tether app. They make all the advanced settings into subscription. I mean antivirus I can see making subscription, but I should at least be able to do advanced configuration on a device that I paid for. That said you can use the routers internal web interface. But that defeats the purpose of having an app. Maybe a one time fee to activate advanced configuration in the app.

Used to work great. But now it randomly decides to not log in to my router. Connecting, connecting, then a login failed message. The only way I've found to fix it and be able to log in to the router again is by restarting the router. Then the next time I try its not working again. When it does this I'm still able to login to the router from my phones browser using the router's ip address, but the app created by the manufacturer of the router can't do what its created to do. Its infuriating.

Okay, I have to admit it, my expectations are not high for this sort of app. But this one really stands apart from the pack. First and foremost, it worked! But even better: it's easy, fast, visually appealing, and has nice extras like renaming your SSID and listing connected clients. And no 10 minute firmware upgrade. Great job, TP-Link team.

I have to say, this was the easiest configuration I've ever done for a network device. Admittedly, the diagram showed four lights instead of the two on the device... but that's not the fault of this app, and really what lights do you need on an extender besides "Power" and "Connect". The ability to configure it from my phone at power-up, without carrying my laptop to the outlet and finding an unused CAT-5 laying around, is pretty awesome. Next time I need a router I'll look at TP-Link first :)

Sucks but its the only option you have. the parental controls aren't correct. When you pick a time frame, it actually goes on for *another* hour. The labeling is backward too. You *think* it wants you to pick times they DO have access, but you're supposed to pick times they DON'T. It's not intuitive, and the directions suck. Took several attempts to figure out how to use the stupid thing.

Poor. It drops its connection to my TP-Links constantly. I have two TP-Link extenders. Using this app is like playing a slot machine because I never know if I will see one or two or zero devices connected. It drops its connection to my two TP-link devices while I'm using it. They might show up, maybe, maybe not, but if they do it will soon disconnect and say there are no devices. Right in front of me. Meanwhile I have not moved or done anything to lose the signal.
