Description of Halifax Mobile Banking

The Halifax Mobile Banking app can do everything you’d expect, maybe a little extra. And you can use it whenever and wherever you want. So you can crack on if you’re on the bus, at work or simply can’t tear yourself away from the telly.

- Sign in quickly and securely with your fingerprints or a 3-character combination from your memorable information
- Swipe easily to see balances and statements on your Halifax accounts
- View details of individual transactions
- Check money coming in and going out
-Get your Travel Money delivered for free to your home or local branch
- Make transfers and payments
- Manage your standing orders and view direct debits
- Pay your loan or credit card bill
- Pay in cheques
- Set up new payees or pay your phone contacts.

- Apply for loans, savings, cards and more
- Call us safely from the app – we’ll already know it’s you so can quickly connect you without the usual security checks.

STAY SAFE- Freeze card transactions if you’ve temporarily misplaced your debit card or want to restrict how it’s used
- Report lost or stolen cards
- Order replacement cards and PINs
- Reset your Online Banking password
- Update the contact details we have for you.

GETTING STARTED
New to this app? No problem. Just register your device and you’re ready to go. For this you’ll need:
- An up-to-date phone number registered with us
- Halifax UK personal account
- Online Banking username, password and memorable information (you can create these in the app)
- A device that isn’t rooted.

CONTACTING YOU
We won't contact you any more than normal if you use the app. But please stay alert to email, text messages or phone calls that appear to be from us. Criminals may try to trick you into giving them sensitive personal or account information. We'll never contact you to ask for these details. Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title and surname and either the last 4 digits of your account number or the last part of your postcode '*** 1AB'. Any text messages we send you will come from Halifax .

Mobile Banking is available to our Online Banking customers with a UK personal account. Services may be affected by phone signal and functionality. Terms and conditions apply.

You must not download, install, use or distribute our Mobile Banking apps in the following countries: North Korea; Syria; Sudan; Iran; Cuba and any other country subject to UK, US or EU technology export prohibitions.
Please note that features that require the use of your device’s phone capability, such as Call us, won’t work on tablets.

When you use this app we collect anonymous location data to help combat fraud, fix bugs and improve future services.

on critical issues it just sign you out with no warning or app freezes.also always use my biometrics for more added security opening the app but settings keep changing without my knowledge. even found out a tesco mobile phone contract which i never bought, wasn't even ask or clarify the account.actually found it just now..i prefer the old halifax

Absolutely sick of it, now we get a full screen on them trying to temp us into new services..once its on your screen (Samsung phone) you cant go any further meaning you have to close the app and try&try to access YOUR OWN ACCOUNT. Its the hard sell way and they have you bythe balls because i reply heavily on the app... only started last few weeks so plz ffs knock it off... 😫

I am a visually impaired user and sometimes it is very hard to detect the fingerprint icon which means the app constantly logs me out if my fingerprint is not positioned properly. Please can you fix this bug as it can be very frustrating and time consuming having to call the bank constantly

I would prefer a notification from the app telling me when I have exceeded my use of the contact less facility on my card as when I'm using the self service checkout sometimes they don't notify me when the transaction hasn't gone through so I'm then needing to pay again by inputting my pin it would make an easier smooth transition when using my card at the self service checkout to ha very a prompt to pay by pin on the app But other than that it is a great app.

Fantastic app to navigate all your accounts in one place. Really easy to move money between accounts easy to make payments and set up new recipients. You can name your accounts aswell which is great. You can freeze your card and view your pins. Excellent.

Very unhappy with update of Aug '23. On the transactions display - a vital one for all users - it's become very unbalanced, with the size of the text increased and the figures decreased. The balance figure is so small now that I can hardly read it even with my glasses on. This is a banking app so the amount paid should be as prominent as the payee name and the balance left should be easily readable!

Easy to use and with two facture authentication very secure. Transfer of funds is very easy and straightforward. Overviews of transactions are in timely order, and printouts are only one click away. Overall layout is professional and easy to navigate.

Very good security, i feel safe using the app,and it's straightforward to use. Not able to download my statements since February. I've given up with the inbox use the more button on whatever account, go to download statements, it works! The red dot has been fixed , taken 7 months but worth it .

easy to use on the go but... annoyingly the alerts are unreliable which they used to be and things like balance and transactions in or out do not arrive within a meaningful timescale. My other banking app gives IMMEDIATE alerts, not hours later or even the next day! I complained to Halifax but of course, they simply didn't take ownership and said it's down to the customers to check their transactions. It claims 24/7 text support. Nope, not true! Halifax... get your inferior app sorted!!

Rubbish....forever tapping in the four digit code to log in "correct" , ends call but doesn't let you proceed...going back to the welcome screen! Expected more from an established brand. Downloaded app again - same rubbish. Pass all your credentials and final check - but still can't access... unbelievable

It is a really great banking app, certainly the best I have used. There is a niggle for me that will not resolve however, the chat function constantly has a number badge showing I have unread messages, when I don't. It has been like this for months now and I have flagged it with Halifax before. I find it annoying to keep checking if I have new messages (which I never do) so no 5 stars today I'm afraid!

The accounts should be the first things on the home screen, not account then ad for something else on the app then my other account. It's not easy compared to other apps and that's why it loses stars...well, that and for some reason I'm getting notifications about payments into my account hours after they're made. As I'm typing this at 5:40 am, I just got a notification for a payment from over 12 hours ago. Putting a bit of care into the app from a users perspective wouldn't hurt.

Easily used, it is slightly irritating that it signs you out so quickly but I can see this is a security feature. Know your password well so you can sign in repeatedly. Ideal for me as I can still bank as I have mobility issues and find it difficult to go to the local branch.

I rated this program a few years ago gaving it 1 star after updates, and various misleading error messages,prior to that I'd given it 4 stars. Well, I recently ratied it at 5 stars as the various issues (and there were several) seem to be sorted but lately it frequently doesn't show the transfer options I've set up. So, -1 ⭐ takes it back to 4 stars. They seem to (badly) fiddle with the program far too frequently. If updating why can't they test properly and thoroughly? Do they care?

Your cheque paying feature is awful. The app often crashes. I seem unable to approve online transactions from the app and need to do it via call or text instead. I often can't access my important documents and messages. The worst banking app I've ever seen. NatWest has the right idea.

Since recently all I get is "app failed Logging in again may help. If not, please try again later" or words to that effect. Trying again just logs me in for a couple of minutes before it getting to that message again and closing. Very annoying when trying to do financials.

Halifax, the best!! I've been with many different banks, and Halifax is by far the most fair, most helpful, quick and easy to contact, money in and out very quick using app easy to navigate everything needed. Very helpful and supportive. They don't scam you with fees like other banks. And I've even been refunded money on occasions without even asking!! 100% fair and there for you!! I've had bad experiences with other banks so cannot stress how much of a difference banking with Halifax is!
