Amazingly simple to use and great results! I'm generally not a huge Microsoft fan, but recently they've upped their game and produced some incredibly good software e.g. VSCode. This app is another great product. Easy to use, scans documents really well and has quick filters that actually work. No ads or required login and you can save to the various Microsoft products or just to a local PDF. My printer scanner just got put to shame.

I've had this app over a year now and haven't had any issues! (knock on wood lol) I love it! I haven't used my computer to scan documents in forever now! This app has simplified so much for me! I don't have to wait for my scanner to scan several documents anymore, then save them, then move them to a folder, etc. Now I take pictures of them and save them to an email (or whatever I'm doing), it's that freaking simple! Thank you Devs! This app is the best!

App gets stuck in endless loop when it opens. It opens the homescreen for about a half a second then goes back to the loading screen. It never stops doing this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and even restarted my phone 3 times thinking maybe it was an issue with my device. Update: 05/09/20 After uninstalling and reinstalling again a few days later, app still doesn't work.

Did a great job scanning a book, and could then save to MS Word for OCR, which worked really well! To get another star would have to handle scanning facing pages of book at one time (as it is, you scan one page at a time). Also, the OCR"d file in Word has random images of little bits of the page mixed in in places. Weird ... but can easily be deleted. You can also save as image in pdf file at the same time as saving to MS Word. Very handy! Also, functions such as deleting a page that wasn't captured correctly are well implemented.

I switched to this app because CamScanner was reported to be infected with malware. I have had a nice experience so far, but I still miss CamScanner. The good thing about this app is that integrates very well with the Cloud service that Microsoft offers, but I wish it had more color filters like the "magic color" that CamScanner offered, and give sharper images. Otherwise, I recommend it as AL alternative to CamScanner

By far the best document scanner I have found. Simple to use, has many nice features, and plenty of amazing filters. There is always at least one filter that works perfectly with the document I'm scanning, including pencil and whiteboards. And it isn't limited to Microsoft Onedrive, you can save it as an image or a pdf to your phone.

Would be very good, but missing one very important and common feature - you can't select multiple items and then use the share function to email, text, transfer, or otherwise send. If you want to share or transfer a file, you must do this one file at a time! I never seen an app that limits this common functionality.

Sorry for the low rate, but I have to say the service was frustrating with an understatement. 1. There's unnecessary function of auto cropping. This function always prevented me from getting the picture at the right size. 2. After taking photos, the app didn't let me convert them into pdfs. There was no choice for PDF conversion (although it was working fine until yesterday). I hope those in charge will fix these problems. Thank you.

For a while, I thought this was the best PDF maker. It worked flawlessly, and results were fantastic. Border adjustments and lighting were spot on. Now whenever I try to view or export my PDFs, an error says they have been moved or deleted. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the app still had the same error message.

I really like the auto cropping feature and since my desktop scanner is not working now, this has been a good replacement. The longest document I had was 12 pages and was pretty easy to do, just make sure you use a contrasting background so the app can easily pickup the borders of the paper. What's cool is, you can just add another scan and it can create a PDF document too which is amazing!

I got this to replace CamScanner but I'm pretty disappointed. So far it fails to produce very clear scanned copies and doesn't have much capacity to adjust the brightness or contrast. I took scans of several documents which looked fine on my phone, but when I emailed them to myself and printed, they were barely legible and looked like really bad copies. Also, I find it frustrating that it won't save as a pdf on the phone. I'm in the app store not looking for another replacement right now.

Would /not/ recommend if there's a hint of urgency in your use case. After painstakingly capturing and cropping my exam (the document recognition refuses to correctly focus on spiral notebooks. There is no ability to disable this auto-cropping), I was informed that, suddenly, my privacy settings had changed and I could no longer save to OneDrive. This worked fine during a pre-exam test only a few days prior. There is no ability to change these required privacy settings from the app, and the provided link takes you to a page on policy which I am decidedly not going to read while frantically trying to submit an exam. Fortunately, through what is essentially a hidden option, I randomly discovered you can save PDF's to your phone, at which point I messaged it to myself. I only discovered this because I accidentally clicked a button in the wrong place while trying to navigate within the app. There is no indication that saving PDF's to your phone is even a feature, as the UX suggests your saving options to you as a list of checkboxes. In truth, /one/ of the checkbox items, the PDF one, allows you to click a different place on the button, which lets you toggle between OneDrive and the device storage. There's a lot going on! The UX is trying to tell me 3 or 4 different things at once, and a critical features is hidden behind it! For some reason, you cannot apply filters to the entire document at once, meaning I ultimately just left the documents looking like pictures. Would be nice to make the entire document look like a document at the same time. Kind of a weird omission. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but if a webdeveloper submitting digital signal processing exams for a master's in computer engineering bounces off this process, it might be time to reconsider your user experience. I've worked with 30 year old integrated circuit layout tools through a server piping X-window information over a laggy SSH connection that communicated information more clearly.

First time user, really simple. I can scan my receipts, save as PDF and sync to my Google drive in seconds. I wish there was a bulk sync, so I could select multiple files to sync to Google, but you can still do that step easily when viewing the PDF. I'm sure there are a ton of other features I'm not even using yet. Great for the simple task I have!

Good scanner. The automatic and manual cropping both work well. The filters are good for increasing legibility. I got a glitch a couple times where one edge of the crop would go off the screen such that I couldn't move it, and I had to back out and retake the image. Allows you to save the scans as PDFs, jpegs, among others, and allowing you to share the images to other apps (including saving to google drive) has been indespensable. A more fully featured and more focused app than Google lens.

I was a CamScanner user until they got corrupted. I looked around a bit in the past looking for good PDF scanner and looks like Microsoft was paying attention to what users actually need. I can link into all the Microsoft tools if I want to. And they are good. But I can also export easily to my Google drive and other things. That makes this super useful. I can also take pictures of whiteboards during a conference and do the image processing later. Super thumbs up on this app.

Capable app with issues and limits. For regular rectangular scans, it works fine. But when you try to scan a long document, then the presented rectangle keeps changing its size automatically and out of control. It tries setting itself to smaller boxes inside the document. That one experience was painful. Also, a useful feature can be if it allows combining multiple pages into one pdf.

This app is my "go to" when it comes to sending documents. It's fantastic, you can take a picture in pretty much any lighting (as long as you can use your flash) and even have the document at an angle and it will automatically stetch it into a perfect rectangle and make it more readable than the original paper. It's that good!

I dropped this from 4 stars to 1 as it is now totally unusable. The app itself is stuck in landscape mode, and it appears to mirror the movement in an opposite direction when I try to line it up. If I'm lucky enough to get a picture the screen flashes green and then the image is extremely blurry an nearly unreadable. I cleared cache and data, uninstalled, and reinstalled. Then it was stuck at a black screen for a really long time. After that went away I had the exact same problems. Time to find an alternative....
