Description of BBC iPlayer

BBC iPlayer lets you watch the latest TV series, documentaries and Sport from the BBC all in one app. Watch live, on demand or download to watch on the move.

Enjoy live TV in the palm of your hand, from live news coverage, music and big sporting events to great comedies, gripping documentaries to nail-biting dramas.

Looking for kids entertainment? Create a child profile for a more age appropriate experience with all their favourite shows from CBBC and CBeebies and more!

KEY FEATURES:

BBC APP Team, thanks for your help. I am so very pleased to be able to watch the BBC News live on your app. This app also features great movies without adverts, a plus when compared to the other TV Channels in the UK.

Hi, The new update on the app doesn't show my added programmes. I have uninstalled and signed in again too. I've been told that it's at the bottom of the homepage when I've reported this, but it isn't. I'm using Oppo A17, Android version 12.1. Also, the new layout isn't great, seems out of context, the previous version was so much in place. Thanks for your reply, but I've not removed my programmes, & it's not to the bottom of the app either.

Since last update the UI is completely useless and unfriendly. Where have TV guide and my programs disappeared to? Need to find an older APK to install now! Thanks for the reply but leave it at the top where it's easier to get to, it's the 1st thing many people will go for!! Why make it more difficult to use the layout was perfectly fine before?????

Disappointed that latest update doesn't show when the download is due to expire. Previous versions did, and that feature was invaluable.

Where has live TV gone? I don't see channels any more! Ok found them. Shouldn't the live channels be on the home page? More fiddling about, thanks.

All of my BBC apps are virtually unusable since the last update. Despite reinstalling, the app just hangs and times out. It worked fine until recently ☹

New navigation bit the TV Guide still won't let you see details of upcoming programmes. You can't even add an upcoming programme to My Programmes. Couldn't be further from TV Guide. Also, stop recommending Mrs Brown's Boys. I will never watch it.

Where have you hidden the menu and channels in the new update? Used to be right there without having to navigate off of the home page... now I think it's a click or two away

Idiotic redesign, why hide my watch list? Before you could quickly go to 'My Programmes' but now I have to scroll down almost endlessly until it appears at the bottom of the screen. It worked, why 'fix' it?

What's happened in the last two weeks? So slow and unresponsive... I've messaged but no reply... Please sort out the load times. Now almost unusable. I've cleared the cache etc but, to no avail.

I wish the child icon was different to the adult one. My daughter who is autistic can't tell the difference and picks my account each time. On Netflix and Disney, she recognises her account by the icon. Why ask to add a child account with a child icon but when set up, it looks like an adult's account. Otherwise it's a decent streaming app.

More fiddling with the app. So now after the update app doesn't follow where you got to in the programme and you go back to the start. No help with faqs and even if you follow personalisation it doesn't work. Too much money and slack in the bbc to enable all this fiddling. No wonder we abandon the BBC live tv and the licence fee and go over to the streaming apps

Rubbish! What's happened ? Just tried Te- Registering and I'm told I need to sign in as already have an account. So I try to sign in and use a saved password from another email but won't accept it! So I try again to Register but repeatedly told to sign in although I'm blocked! Absolute Rubbish! Worked brilliantly months ago but the tech must have left or gone on holiday 🤣 Don't bother with the BBC or iPlayer, so no need to either buy a Licence which is good 👍 as saves me money🤣

What have they done? Not everyone wants to waste time learning to use apps that some experts think needs fixing. It didn't need fixing. I want an app that I can watch what I want to watch, not what the BBC wants me to watch. NO I don't want to watch animals being killed or procreation.

Every update keeps on getting worse, not sure why they have they format, it was so easy before to watch live TV if need be and now to hoop through the channels is a chore. The BBC news app got worse as wl after the update so that wonder if it's becoming a trend with BBC bringing in these irrlevant updates.

Fantastic app, always working perfectly, and exactly as described. Live TV, on demand, and local download all work flawlessly. Ignore the recent 1 star review by another - it is clearly from an American who doesn't know British English, and is illegally trying to access the BBC iPlayer (probably using a VPN to hack the geographical restrictions).

This is a good streaming app with a few major irritations, the main one being downloads. I'm often on a weak connection, which is why I prefer to download, but if my connection drops the download fails, so I can end up downloading one episode multiple times before completion. This costs a lot of data. Also you should be able to multi-delete. Currently it's three clicks to delete every episode. And the display doesn't rotate when turning the phone around. [Edit: a year on & nothing has changed]

Hate this new layout of downloads. Used to be able to see instantly how long I had left to watch a download and they were in order of when I downloaded them. Now they are all lumped together and do not have a separate queue list where I could weigh up which programme I wanted to download next from any failures.
