Description of FiiO Music

Notice: Google Play has added restrictions on the application listing, which requires us to modify the way to obtain the application folders. Therefore, installing the 3.1.1 version will clear the historical data of the old version, and you need to manually add the music folder.

FiiO Music app is designed exclusively for mobile phone DAC/amps. It's a local player that is more suitable for audiophiles.

Great app, up until the recent UI update. I listen to playlists primarily, and the new update has made it kind of difficult to just open the app and listen to my playlists. There's even supposedly a way to favorite playlists but there isn't actually an option to do so anywhere that I've seen. Really wishing I could rollback to the previous version, was much better and easier to navigate for me personally. Also really wish I could hide the notification bar when not actively listening.

Brilliant app until today's update. It now can't find any music at all despite me pointing it to the folders and all permissions granted. Oh and I have lost all my playlists. Well done Fiio for yet again, not testing this rubbish before you release it. I give up with it now! Update: Fiio pointed me to a direct download from their site and it has returned to full working order. Thank you

An amazing high Res music player with stunning UI.... The full screen style looks really awesome 😎 I'm glad there's spectrum visuals but it should be realistic "colourful " not like some washed out drawings.... please fix that.....

Seeing that they finally fixed the character encoding issue (special characters/letters like É, Ø, Ñ, etc. are now displayed properly instead of random Chinese characters) is great, but this latest update broke gapless playback when using an external DAC like Topping NX4 DSD or FiiO Q1 Mk2 (it's fine in in the previous updates, IIRC); gapless playback DOES INDEED work, but only if you're using your smartphone's internal audio (read: its own 3.5mm jack). Also, the scrolling ticker text animation (when they're too long to show) in the song information seems to be gone for some odd reason; I want to see it fixed in the next update, too. Gapless playback is a big deal for me, since I listen to megamixes / DJ mixes from time to time. Hope that this could be fixed in the next update.

Volume still can control from phone, I need my phone as data transport only. Only one volume control from FIIO Q3 or another FIIO DAC. It often happens that the sound is lost but the music is still playing. When I open the phone screen, the sound is back. If I use other applications such as Apple Music, this situation does not occur.

It's a music app, what else can it do differently? turns out, loads. my phone for whatever reason defaults to SBC when streaming via Bluetooth even if the headphone supports better quality codecs. This app forces the phone too use the best available codec. I've yet to play with the USB audio features but will do soon once a compatible cable arrives at my door steps. Annoyingly there seems to be a need to "add" local files into the app as it doesn't seem to read the storage like every other app..

I'm genuinely shocked at how good the FiiO player is. I've tried dozens of music apps over the years but this is the first time I've been able to say that one will improve the quality of your listening experience. [FEB 2021 - the following was referring to an older version of the app] Only area that needs improvement is the user interface, I think it looks a bit lifeless and could be more appealing, but don't let that put you off. Honestly, give this app a try and you'll be blown away.

Recently installed again - I had issues accessing the settings before. I must say the audio quality through the USB into my external DAC is excellent. Previously I was using USB Audio Player to do this but wasn't happy with the results. It seems this app is better at getting the digits out cleanly. I have now knocked a star off as gapless doesn't work properly—the beginning of the next track is glitched.

My music is from Spotify and YouTube, so I only need a Fiio app to control my BTR3 bluetooth/USB DAC. Bluetooth devices are hidden in the app settings, and most of the options don't work. I wrote to Fiio and informed them. Later I sent an update that none of the EQ settings work, specifically when LDAC is being used. That said, I found the EQ pretty useless when using Apt-X HD or even as a wired USB DAC. In short, this app is really poorly done. Fiio needs to look at what Jaybird, Earstudio, Jabra, Sony, and others are doing. That said, the BTR3 itself, is a fantastic little device. Highly recommend it for LDAC from an Android mobile- I have the popular 1More Quad driver wired earphones. I also use it as a USB DAC at work. My PC is Linux - I had to do basic edits to a file, so the bitrate and frequency were correct. I think the file was /etc/pulse/daemon.conf

Webdav not working in 3.1.7, 3.1.8 but working in 3.1.6. Folder browsing is working but when trying to play a song, it say "File not found". SMB fix cause this webdav error. Please check it. Thanks in advanced.

The player looks great but is definitely missing features, the random playback is really basic, no memory of what was played last, not even a simple randomised list, I've never had it replay the current song or the previous one but that could just be chance. There is also bo way of simply removing a song from a playlist without deleting it from the whole app making you need to rescan for the app to recognise it again.

While the UI and UX is on par on any typical music players and Knowing fiio as a top audio gear manufacturer these parts are well covered. The only problem here is that everytime I turn on or off wifi or lock or unlock my phone the player stutters. I now see why the app only have 3.5 rating, at least a part of it. A great experience ruined by the stutters.

There's a lot I like about this app, it could well be the top one for me after losing gpm, however, there's a few things I would like added first: 1. An option to shuffle the entire song library, you can shuffle in folders and albums, but not in the song library, at least no way that I can find 2. A queue/play next function, again, if there is one, I can't find it 3. There is a glitch that if the player has been dormant for too long, when opened, it reverts to a previously played song, pls fix

Everything is good perfect. But My only gripe is it cuts the mp3s playback speed in half Otherwise I would give it 5 stars

Sleek design. Probably one of the best music players I've seen. The dealbreaker for me is that whenever I click the play button on a specific folder, it never plays, even when I'm trying to add the whole thing in a playlist. I hope you can fix this so that some people like me can fully enjoy the app experience.

Its nothing different than a good quality music app. But, extremely lame equilizers! When you raise any equilizer bar, that frequency will get prominent and rest of the hz parameters will get muffled. Really??? I installed this app because I ordered the FIIO Hi Res DAC, but cancelled it due to this app. Because if the app has such lame settings then the equilizer in the DAC must be similarly lame or worst, right??

Being a fan of FiiO products, this one is a real treat. High-Res music support, great user interface. My only complaint is that I hope for more customizations in the future updates: such as: 1. More equalizer settings. 2. Ability to add album art from Phone's gallery. 3. Visualizer support. 4. Custom tag editor. Overall the devs have done a really good job, these are just some finishing touches that will truly add to the experience and help the app to stand out from the sea of other music apps

It's a good app. I liked it personally. Could you please implement one important feature. Whenever I pause or play the song don't increase/decrease the volume all of sudden. I mostly use earphone to listening to music. A sudden change in the volume giving me ear pain. I strongly recommend to fade-in and fade-out the volume so that ears can adopt the change in the volume.
