Then this Sony app is exactly what you've been waiting for.
The Sony l Music Center app will singlehandedly enable you
to listen to Hi-Res sound sources in the excellent audio quality.
You can also connect to other Sony audio devices to play music in the
best possible sound field, with the settings optimized for each individual device.

To use the control function of audio devices, an audio device compatible with Sony | Music Center is required.
Please check if your audio products are compatible with Sony | Music Center from our support site.
Devices that were compatible with SongPal are compatible with Sony | Music Center as well.

Main Feature
You can playback music including Hi-Res tracks on your smartphone.
Play the music contents from CD, USB, and Smartphone.
Access music by browsing or searching music folders stored on your computer or NAS drive thru network(DLNA)*.
You can set Multi-room, Surround, Stereo wirelessly with multiple speakers.*
Change the setting on the audio device, such as Equalizer, Sleep Timer, Network* and so on.

With reference to your Sony Music Center (SongPal) which is very fantastic as compared to other apps of music specially having the sony soundstage and sound effects like vpt crossfade clear bass and clear stereo should also be there. But two things which are missing in the app is that while playing music from mobile phone there is no option to shuffle the music which is really disappointing there should be a dark mode included in the app to avoid eye strain at night

I just turned my Sony speaker on and it's with the lights on and the option to turn it off has disappeared from the app ONCE AGAIN!!! This is VERY annoying, it keeps happening every so often. Why do you keep messing around with this app? It makes me want to sell my speakers and buy another brand. Unbelievable!! 😠

This app is bad, *bad*!! It demands way too many unnecessary permissions! It is unintuitive and cumbersome to connect and group two speakers. Once achieved, it is even more cumbersome to ungroup them in order to use only one single speaker every once in a while. And it seems impossible to update the speaker software: The app complains about "insidious battery" of my mobile device. I have battery left for hours and hours. But even when charging it won't work. Sony, you messed up badly!

Limited when it works, and it often doesn't. I use it to control an STR-DN1080, which is an excellent AV receiver. The app interface is rather basic but it does the job for selecting input sources, volume and EQ, sound and speaker settings. Trouble is, most of the time it won't even connect, regardless of whether I use a wired or WiFi connection on the amp. I don't know whether it's the app or the amp's WiFi that's the issue. Either way, it renders the app useless much of the time.

Worst. App. Ever. I constantly have to re-setup my wireless surround speakers every time there's an update to this POS. Every time I go through setup, I'm reminded of how confusing and unintuitive it is. Garbage! There are so many other problems, I'll never buy another Sony product after this.

I love the speakers themselves (SRS ZR5). But this app is horrendous. You would think Sony would have a better UI on an app necessary to join two wireless speakers in stereo. This is just horrible. The speakers always go in and out of connectivity on the app, although they work near perfectly through Chromecast over network. Please please please revamp the app and bluetooth functionality. The hardware is great, but the software meeds work.

It's alright. You can create your own sound profile or EQ which is nice. However, even though it says the CUSTOM sound profile is on. You have to go into the app everytime you reconnect to Bluetooth to actually get the EQ to work. It sounds like it just defaults to mega bass unless you click on CUSTOM again, even though it says its on. Which is very annoying.

Here is the main problem, If you have multiple of the sane device for whatever reason the app has an extremely hard time remembering them. I have 4 SRS-XB41. All of which are amazing but this app doesn't always find them so I'm forced to reconnect multiple times add and re-add the speaker to finally get control of the lights. What makes it worse is if the app closes in order to change the lights again I have to reconnect yet again...add and re-add

Horrendous waste of time. It simply doesn't work. The speakers and headphones I love. I like the ability to connect multiple speakers which it takes me about a minute to do manually. Note that they should be of the same generation. But the app is a black hole, a waste of time. Tried on Samsung S21 Ultra (current phone) and on prior Samsung phones with the same results.

I took 3 stars off. 1) because no dark mode. 2) because the animations take too much time for an action to happen! It takes long to play/pause a song or go forward/back! It makes me feel like my phone is slow but it's not.. it's just the app.. 3) because you can't hide folders. But it's a music player.. it plays music.

This used to be a barely functional way to turn on the colored lights but turn off the annoying strobe lights on my Sony SRS Speaker. That "feature" was removed or broke. Now I can have strobe lights or no lights. My physical product just became less useful. I will now never use the lights. The strobes don't even run in time to the music most of the time, they just sort of flash spastically every once in a while. What is the "Flashing" button even for?

Metadata doesn't download. So if you're using a micro sd card. Or any other external storage to play music., more often than not it won't pull any Metadata. So you might not see artist, song name, album artwork, or you might just see a bunch of "unknown artist" songs. For those of us playing off of more than 10 gigs of music in stored form ...that's a big problem . Other than that it's ok.

Small changes could go a huge way! For starters, the EQ is too simple - it needs more faders and labeled frequencies. 3 is not enough. Secondly, being able to customize the colors and brightness would be amazing. The preset colors are quite limited. Finally, being able to save presets for EQ settings and lighting modes would be great as well! It's a great app, but it just needs customization. Music is a very personal thing, and being able to customize our sound and colors better is what we need

What a terrible app. It's irritating because without this app activating the speaker which I've used for years, I can't use it with Google home anymore. Even when the speaker is paired and being used by the phone, the app still can't find it. Yes, it's supported. Yes, the app is literally trash and has no reason to exist aside from data acquisition.

Not sure what is going on, system has gone to bad. Only reason it's 2 star is because it use to work. Now flatly fail, it's dependent on Google Home is a total failure. Speakers shows availability but will not play and revert you to Google Home which doesn't recognize speakers. I used to have 4 speakers connected through out the house, now I am down to 2 speakers recognize in a group. Shows available for casting, but will not play. I should have paid extra and gotten Sonos.

Once I tap on audio in, there is no way to go back to bluetooth audio. You'll need to power off the speaker and turn it back on to enable bluetooth audio back. Also, I wish there's a shortcut to access illumination options instead of having to tap several buttons to get there. Lastly, the UI could be a lot better.

I enjoy the app, but there does not seem to be a way to select a specific source to pull audio from. The app grabs any and all audio files as well as audio from MP4 video files on my phone and SD card. I would rather not have ringtones or audio from a family video randomly playing in between songs when I shuffle all of my music.

It's a decent, stable app that performs as advertised. Works well with my Portable Sony Speakers and in many ways is better than many stock music players. It DESPERATELY needs a Dark Mode, the bright white UI really gets hard on the eyes. If it weren't for the apps lack of customization options, this app would be an instant 4 or 5 stars.
