Description of HiBy Music

Hiby Music is a free high-quality music player specially designed for HiFi.

1. Adapt to Android 8.0, support DXD, DoP, native DSD and 384kHz 32bits music on Android to directly output to USB amplifier; supports up to DSD256.

2. The new feature MESB (Mage Sound 8-ball Tuning) tuning is a combination of multiple algorithms based on parametric equalizer (PEQ) and sound field adjustment. You can customize the most satisfying sound for yourself.

3. HiByLink supports both client and server ends. You can control HiBy's players and other products (software developed by Hiby) through mobile phones.

4. Support LHDC (HWA) HD Bluetooth format.

Good sound and clean UI but music library organisation and gapless needs improvement. Some albums (covers only) are sorted under the wrong album artist. However, the album and tracks are also under the correct album artist. Not a massive problem but annoying when someone has OCD with their library. Gapless with Opus also doesn't work 100% and you still here a switch between tracks. Other issues on my previous review have been fixed so upped to 4 stars.

The app is nice. I would have rated it 5 stars if not for two things. One need cool visualizations with different themes and modes, two the music icon on notification bar doesn't disappear by simply touching x like other players instead u have to head to the app and press exit. That just kills time. So please fix it. And add visualizer. P.S thanks for the app.

Great, it's good parallell with Tidal. Bugs in current version on Samsung S21; Search function often takes a couple of attempts to work. Can't use the volume buttons or have not yet worked out how to, when app is in background or phone is locked. And there's just a yellow screen for a brief bit before the app starts, which to me feels slow. Thanks if you'd check these Fantastic application!!!

Overall a great music app compared to most stock options. The sound settings are very customizable but aren't confusing to someone who may not know too much audio lingo. One of my favourite features is the UAT which gives a noticeable quality boost on all of the Bluetooth devices that I've tested it on. There are still some bugs and UI glitches that need to be fleshed out though. If you want a good alternative to your stock music app or you really care about sound quality this is a great choice.

Nice sound but tragic UI design. Couldn't find how to browse an artist from the current song. Browsing across playlist and songs is very frustrating. I always end up browsing by folder which is super bad. Difficult to navigate the UI in general you never know where to go from your current view. Honestly i keep this app for the MSEB controls without it i would look elsewhere. Musicolet and BlackPlayer have much better user experience and they are free as well only sound worse compared to Hiby

It sounds flat when I compared this with Foobar2000 without MSEB activated. However, the MSEB makes a huge difference for customizing the sound, an excellent feature! I use this app when listening on headphones at home, and Foobar2000 in the car. It would be nice to have an option for the resampler to have 2x or 4x because I have both 44.1khz and 48khz AAC files. P.S. some album art is missing with this app. The app will download the wrong album art, don't use the downloader, rescan the files.

I like the exclusive usb mode, amazing skipping tracks experience and it is a feature only in the Android version. Despite that, the hiby fc4 is almost unusable on Android. Not only that Tidal app doesn't work once it tries to take control of the MQA device, but I suspect Hiby app doesn't use MQA in Tidal either as based on the color lights like it does on the iPhone. It also crases randomly in the background all the time. Maybe it's just my Oneplus 6 device, but it's still a shame.

Works great. It's the only !FREE! app I could find that supports bit perfect output to external usb dac. Pleasant, responsive interface. My 2ch setup is also very happy, there is no going back. Make sure to play with the settings, I can't say for sure which are best and it might vary per device, but "bus speed" on auto and on high speed had an obvious effect on the jitter profile (spectrum). Full speed glitches out for me. This app is a godsend.

A feature request - integrate Amazon Music like Tidal please. This is by far the best Android music player I've ever found. It allows streaming of music from the shared storage on my PC, simply share the folder and then navigate there in the app. It has its own usb audio driver that allows but perfect high resolution audio to be outputted to a DAC, so when paired with some decent headphones I have great music quality when I travel. And the icing on the cake is the built in DSP.

I can't sort songs according to artist/album, so i use another app to sort the song list. I think that is an imperfection of this application

Haven't been using long but so far it is fantastic! Audio quality is great, nice to have an equaliser but I leave it off as I use the samsung one. Love the wifi download feature too! My only issue is phone notifications make it completely pause. If it just went slightly quieter it would be ok but the music just stops for about two seconds. Will rate 5 if adjusted.

One thing that would make this app even better is if there was a widget. But I was looking for an app that shows the bit rate of the song and has a good interface. This does exactly that.

UPDATE: I after many months I still think this player is perhaps the best, and I've tried too many! But you only really need Hiby if you play music through your device's USB. Though very nonstandard and having a learning curve to master subtleties, its interface is attractive and comprehensive and its options and settings ALMOST let you take control of your music. I have become rather fond of the interface over time. I give it five stars both because of its intrinsic quality and to raise its play store profile. It is great in showing how many tracks are in each genre and artist, but not how many are in folders. And you can conveniently stick multiple artists or genres into a shuffle queue. However it lacks some UI features previously a bottom line for me in selecting a player. Most of all it does not allow one to directly delete the current track from the device, or add it easily to a generic favorites playlist. PLEASE add those two options to the current track interface! Then also, because I organize my music by folders I would like to be able to set the default top folder for viewing music by folder. 'Pulsar' has these features, but not Hiby's HD USB playback. Hiby's queue can be replaced, but not directly cleared. On the other hand I was delighted to discover that it can be used as an informative remote in client-server pairs. But it is really all about music quality, and here Hiby excels. I would gladly pay 5 euros for a pro version of Hiby with those extra features and no ads! But make no mistake, even as is Hiby is hard to surpass for a DAC player!

Great app for a free music player. Note to developer: I will be reverting to an older version of your app. The newest version as of Aug 2023 is bugged. The way it worked up until you changed the UI about 2 months ago was way better. Now, there are multiple bugs that have not been fixed.

I appreciate that it's a free music player app that can use your own hifi usb dongle. There are still problems though. Playback stops after playing a number of tracks. I made sure keep alive in background is enabled though. I turned off any battery optimizations so that it wouldn't turn off the app. Also no option for 384KHz sampling rate. The shuffle playback needs fixing too. I should be able to go back and forward to the same songs not a new song.

It's a really good app, I like the design, the UI the many supported formats and the Bluetooth compatibility. It's unfortunate that there are no widgets, you can't even pull a playlist on the homescreen (android Huaweip30). Also it's very annoying to create playlist. You can't change them after you created them so if you want to change the order of the songs you have to make a new one. I really like that it fills out the screen when the phone is locked so you can change songs easily.

It's a great player especially if you're an audiophile, extremely customizable sound experience. Only drawback for me is the lack of ability to rearrange the tracks on a playlist, like alphabetically for example, it's only allowed for the whole music list. I have over 3000 songs and this is usually a problem, I can't rearrange the playlist on alphabetically. Hopefully hiby can include this in the future. Still 4 stars for being a great player.

It's great, i think it just need more song list order option like short by folder maybe, and on "obtain cover art and lyrics automatically" can you add option to obtain lyrics only
