Been a long time Bose customer spanning over decades. Unfortunately their app for setting up a full home experience (around 8k square feet) has been a complete headache. While we love the Bose sound quality and delivery of rich tones, we are forced to switch to another brand that has a better technology for connectivity. Very sad that Bose still hasn't figured out a good fix for this app after many years.

This is the worst app I have ever dealt with. I lose connections at random, so I need to login again. However, it's impossible to see both what you're typing and what you already typed. I've just spent 30 minutes resetting passwords and trying to establish connections with no luck. Couldn't there just be a simple phone-to-speaker Bluetooth connection like everybody else? Couldn't you have a website so that I can type the logins with a keyboard? What's with all the updates all the time? How do I get out of this recursive hell?!? Oh, super secret scroll down so I can learn to wait until the amber light. There's hope! Nope, let's keep repeating the setup over and over with no clear indication of what went wrong. Damn your beautiful sounds and crappy app engineering!!

The soundtouch 30 sounds great. However this app is such a shame. First of all, on Android Oreo, the app cannot setup over WiFi. Here is what happens, when you set up a new soundtouch speaker, the speaker starts off as a WiFi access point and the soundtouch app attempts to detect this WiFi SSID and connects the phone to it. However, it cannot communicate with the speaker. The reason is simple - Android detects that this access point does not have internet connection and routes all network traffic to LTE. In order to get it to work you just need to turn off mobile data and the app will then successfully communicate with the speaker to set it up. The solution is simple - the app needs to specifically choose the WiFi interface when trying to communicate with the speaker while setting it up. Did they even test this app? Second... how do you set up the time on the Bose speaker. I have the clock display on and it shows the time from some arbitrary timezone - perhaps UTC? Overall, a good speaker that requires a shameful app in order to work!

Pretty good app for controlling my two Bose speakers. It's a bit clunky to set up but once working, not bad. Oddly, if you power on one speaker it'll start playing and when you power on the other speaker it starts playing at a different point in the song. There Is No automatic synchronization between the two speakers. Instead you have to stop them both or reattach them to one group and start your music. I've been controlling my music via the Pandora app which is working pretty well. if you like bows and wants a way to control them remotely, this is the best way. The only bummer is being constricted to only controlling them via the phone. It would be nice if you could control it beer your computer as well.

Sound is great and all BUT... the connectivity is clumsy at best. It constantly forgets the network and I have to add the device pretty much every time I want to use it... that's NOT a lot of fun when you have to stop entertaining for 20 minutes just to get your device together again. Please fix that already. Purchased in January or so... and it's still doing it. #Annoying

After almost pulling my hair out over just getting the system to connect to WiFi I'm happy so far. Ask me again in 6 months. Still loving it. Occasional disconnects still happening. 9/5/22 Still occasional disconnects or don't recognize device. I'm in need of a new remote. I've misplaced mine. System still sounds dreamy and crystal clear. I still love it!

This app can turn the Bose SoundTouch IV on and off. It can increase or decrease volume. It can switch source from Wi-Fi to bluetooth or vise versa, but it can't switch to over air radio. App take a little time to figure things out. Why can't it just be like the physical remote control that comes with the Bose SoundTouch unit? Also, it would be nice if the Bose SoundTouch IV just have all the control buttons on the unit itself.

I have 3 speakers. They require frequent updates, and the system often fails in adding it's own speakers. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an alternative app, and the bugs have been constant since '18. Too bad, because the system does sound great on the rare occasions it is all working together, like now, after fiddling with it for over an hour and a half. Very frustrating.

Nice app, but sucks battery. it installed easily as was the account creation. It quickly found my Soundtouch 30 and setup for all of my music service accounts as presets was simple. All in all a fairly painless and well thought out process. i only really have two main complaints. There is no way to turn the app off. You can turn off the notifications, but not the app. even force stopping it doesnt work, and it is draining my battery. Correct these issues and ill give 5 stars.

I rather like the app. My problem is the inconsistent effect of hitting my phone's "back" button. Sometimes it goes to the previous menu in the app. Sometimes it backs out of the app. It seems random. Given that the in-app "back" button is in the upper left-hand corner, and pressing it requires extremely shifting the phone in my hand or using a second hand, the phone's "back" button should suffice in all circumstances.

This app will not update! It says the system has to be updated, hit the update button and it goes to Google and there is no way to update, keeps you going back and forth! Can't find my speakers although I am playing music with them, I just can't play the outdoor speakers without the app! I've had this system for a long time, its just gotten worse! Any suggestions on how I can now play both zones!! I havr the surround sound system!

The app gives you many choices for source content and for output to different speakers, but it took a while to learn and I wouldn't call it intuitive or easy to use. It can be quirky and do unexpected things, but it usually does what I want. I have used it every day for a couple of years and the Bose speakers (I have 6) sound great, all over the house. I WOULD buy it again and recommend it, but a training video on YouTube is needed for newbies. Maybe someone has made one.

It randomly disconnects whenever it recognizes a new device on my wifi- so when anyone who has used the guest wifi in the past comes over with their phone or tablet. It can have a good deal of trouble reconnecting and goes on and off for seemingly no reason at times.. I'd reduce it to three stars for those issues, but since I get six stars worth of enjoyment from it, I gave it four. My music my way. Gotta love it.

The app gives me good control over my Soundtouch speakers... makes it easy to adjust volume, change sources, etc. I wish it gave me better access to my Amazon music library instead of just to Amazon selected playlists and stations. Despite minor shortcomings, the app makes it easy to maintain a pleasant musical ambience throughout my house with a few simple touches on my smartphone.

The sound quality is very good as can be expected of any bose product. Sometimes it is challenging and frustrating to get both my Soundtouch 20 and 30 to sync and play via WiFi as they keep dropping. I have had to reconnect them to my BT WiFi which is good and stable. I find out that I have to restart each time there's an upgrade to the bose app....

System very unstable. Stops working on a nearly daily basis. Usually end up just leaving it unplugged because it's a nightmare getting it working again...only to have it stop again. Getting Bluetooth setup is a nightmare. Getting the TV to play through it is a nightmare. I can at least switch between inputs from the app...neat trick, but still nothing plays.

I love the fact that you offer the features to group and ability to control everything either together or individually from the same app.I only wish you could add YouTube and other options, also to make the windows music access more reliable, please add the ability to play content from my personal phone with more ease and control over the bluetooth feature. but keep up the good work I currently have 7 Bose devices connected and I love it. but it could definitely improve.

Garbage. The speakers sound great.... IF you can manage to connect to them in any consistent manner. Spent several hours trying to get them set up (using Bluetooth, WiFi, Android, iPhone) and was only able to play music through them twice and I'm an IT nerd. Couldn't even make use of the aux input on the speakers, now THAT'S ridiculous.
