The interface is intuitive, and the app has some very useful features. I especially make use of the ability to set the playback speed; I often listen to podcasts in which the presenters have unfamiliar accents, and playing them at a slightly slower speed enables me to parse the accent without missing what they say. In short, this is the best podcatcher I've tried. Way better than the one that's named after an Asian mountain range.

This app has plenty of options. However, it doesn't seem to update the episodes very quickly. For example the news apps that are supposed to be updated every hour or not updated on time. Also, we can fast forward or reverse in 30 second increments but commercials are only 15 seconds. This would be a much better app if the updates came more quickly.

Great app. Has all of the podcasts I have looked up. Would be even better with lock screen controls (see audible) and a smart playlist where if you aren't playing the most recent episode it would continue with the next episodes until you played them all or stopped it. Oh and while I'm dreaming...intelligent sync across devices. If I am logged in, of course. Start something on the PC/website then launch the app it knows where I was and gives me the option to resume. And of course vice versa. Start on app intelligent resume on the website. But again...great app.

Decent podcast player with some annoying features. It's really annoying that when I'm listening to a podcast while browsing others, clicking on a show to read info about it makes it start playing when all I wanted to do was read about it and maybe add it to the queue. It's a deal breaker for me. It's also really annoying that notifications are enabled by default. Why has this become a trend with apps to nag people by default, as if cellphones aren't distracting enough already.

I've used podbean for a about 5 years now. It usually works well, easy to navigate and use. But it's glitchy. Occasionally turning off at random. Occasionally starting to play a podcast at random. It only starts back up in an episode where you left off about 80% of the time. And not every episode of any chosen podcast will download, it occasionally refuses to download or play downloaded files. Going to look for a reliable replacement sadly.

lots of podcasts to. however sometimes the podcast look like they are downloading but they aren't. apparently this happens when there is no memory left on phone. would be helpful if there was an error message informing me of that. Other problem is that it will automatically start playing in the car via Bluetooth and i cant seem to find a way to prevent that unless i dont have the Bluetooth on at all.

This podcast app works better for me than the others. After using the app pretty heavily for the past year, I have to remove a star. Technically, this app works great. But it seems that a design rule was to "make something play" at every turn. It drives me nuts. You can't even look at an episode without it blasting out. There needs to be a preference setting for disabling auto-play entirely. I often select an episode wanting to leave a like, or comment, or read the description, and the thing immediately starts playing. I avoid exploring because of this. I don't want anything to play until I hit the "play" button. I'd appreciate it very much if this option could be offered in the Settings. Thank you.

Not great. Too much clicking around to find pods I subscribe to and it stays open all the time; even after I "X" out of it, it won't close. I'm taking recommendations for a replacement podcast app. Edit after your reply: As stated, tapping the "X" does not work to close the app once it is open. New S10 phone is not the issue. Others have had same prob.

Pretty good player. Lots of available podcasts. Two big problems I have with it. First, when I'm out of signal range the app halts. It doesn't allow me to access my downloaded podcasts. Second, the app doesn't unload clean. I've even used Android device maintenance to clear memory, yet podcasts will restart on their own, probably due to seeing my Bluetooth reconnected. I have no control over this.

Like every one, I loved this so much. Until the first part of March. Same complaints.. cuts off for no reason. I have to open phone and manually turn the podcasts back on. Also, your response is the same. Sorry, send screen shot... whatever. I do not want to change apps, but after reading reviews and seeing how you're handling fixing the issues, will do it.

Maddening when it abruptly stops playing one episode in a playlist and switches to another random one. Sounds similar to Zac R's recent review. For me it often happens after unlocking the screen (and no, it's not fumblefingers). Same behavior on two different phones from different manufacturers. It's also not consistent when flagging an episode as new, or as played. Otherwise I like it pretty well. Not too invasive, don't have to create an account to use it. Mostly works well. Could be a bit more efficient to create playlists - something as simple as drag and drop, or sophisticated like 'make a playlist out of the new, unplayed episodes of these three podcasts I follow'. Well, it's hard to present that level of sophistication in a simple interface, but I can wish. [Sent details to the email address as requested]

Lots of content, love the sorting feature and that it shows what you've played, easy downloading. Only issue I have is that when I'm streaming, sometimes the program throws an error and stops the stream and I have to leave the list and go back into the list to get it to start again. If you're easily annoyed by slight inconveniences, you might wanna look for a different app.

Wonderful app! The only thing I don't like is the button that skips back or forward 10 seconds doesn't work. And if I want to restart my chapter, or skip ahead, it doesn't let me. I have to listen to the entire chapter before starting at the beginning, still unable to relisten to the part I wanted to hear again without going through the entire chapter.

pretty easy to use, only if it was easier to edit. you can cut, but that is it. It would be better if you can listen to it, cut something out and re-record from that point on. It's just that after first cut, when you listen to it again to edit farther down the recording, it stops playing at your first edit. So if you edit it 2 mins in and have to do it again at 5 mins point, the playback stops at the 2 min mark. if they could fix this then it would be awesome. Update: Corrected issue, perfect!!

I have used this app for several years and it has worked great. Recently however, the podcasts stop and I have to manually resume play which is a major hassle if you are trail running or road running, or even just out for a walk. I don't see a specific pattern for this, mostly seems to happen while I'm on my mobile network (TMO US 4G/LTE or 5G). Some podcasts seem to complete, others stop every 10 minutes, other after 20 minutes, there doesn't seem to be a discernable pattern. In each case I can manually resume it, so it's not as if it has lost the signal. I'm in the same area I have been using this app for the last few years. I have set downloads to be ok with mobile networks and also allow the app to work in the background. This is on a S20 FE 5G with the latest updates. I hope a future update will undo whatever new default settings are causing these problems.

I've been using podbean for a good while and really like it for the most part. Recently though, I've been having an issue with it using a lot of processing power. It's only been the last few months, but my Galaxy S10 has been reporting the app as overloading the system. Likewise, running it for a few hours, which is easy to do when listening to a 3+ hour program, consumes about 10% battery an hour with the screen off. I've listened to the same program on other apps and not had this issue.

Overall, I have no complaints about this app. However, there is an annoying, recurring glitch that causes skipping during playback. I just un-/re-installed for the second time; we'll see if that fixed the problem. Stay tuned... [UPDATE: it didn't. The glitch is still there. On top of that, my podcasts aren't updating properly. I still like this app, but the glitches are disappointing.]

the app works well enough, but still has a long way to go in order to catch up to other podcast apps. mainly the apple podcast app. the fact that there isn't a "play next" and "play later" option is disappointing. never realized how much I'd miss such a simple feature until I switched from iOS to android. also, please add the ability to hide and/or delete old episodes from appearing on screen. thanks in advance.
