Most of the podcasts I listen to I can find on this app and having the plus membership to avoid the "ads" and getting early access to some podcasts is well worth the cost. There are some quirks with the app regarding what I've listened to and getting back to where I left off, even though I've selected the appropriate settings. I would still recommend.

This app sucks! It is so glitchy. Half the time it doesn't recognize my finger when I'm trying to pause or rewind, etc. It crashes out of the blue frequently. It has functionality issues, too. I can't believe Wondery put out such an awful app. I'm definitely not going to start paying for it once my free trial period is over unless they dramatically improve its performance.

It's sluggish and crashes often, especially when being used while another app is open. For example, I like to listen to my shows while driving but having my navigation app open makes Wondery malfunction even more. I waited until I downloaded the latest update to post this review in hopes it would improve my experience but it hasn't. Also, there really should be a way to scroll from the oldest episodes to the newest ones for people who would like to start a series from the beginning.

Although the content is pretty great, the app is just awful. Once an episode plays, good luck getting it to play again. Navigation is often difficult and I can only find original air date about half the time. If you're listening to an episode, you can choose from the next few on the series, but you can't go to the series or see any that aired prior.

Update* updating to 2 stars. Some improvements with last update but still not up to par yet but will get there🤞🏼 Love the content, app is really bad. 1st: app loses its memory. I leave my car or close and disconnect from Bluetooth, I'll come back with the expectation for it to pick up where I left off. Nope, track controls have disappeared from the notification area. I then open the app and it looks like it's about to play where I left off only to have it starts over. Downloads don't save.

The single worst app I have ever used. The app frequently crashes and often will cause other apps, including navigation, to crash as well. Episodes that you have downloaded for offline listening may not download correctly and there is no way to redownload a specific episode, so you'll have to drop all your cached episodes and download them all again. And, yes, I am definitely using the latest version of the app.

It's unfortunate that such a fantastic content creator has such a buggy app. It frequently crashes and doesn't save my place when I load it back up again, so I can't always find where I was in the episode when I get it up and running again. I've also noticed a few episodes that cut off randomly before the episode is over. The full episodes are normal on Spotify so it seems like a Wondery app-specific problem. Even though I paid for the subscription, there were some things that I had to listen to on Spotify to get the full episode, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting the ad-free subscription. Without an update to resolve the problems, I will likely cancel my subscription.

The app is so buggy. The play/pause button doesn't work half the time, and it's difficult to continue paused episodes as it doesn't always keep the episode qued up and in the same place. I was excited to listen to some of the content that isn't available elsewhere..... but I'm not sure if I'll keep the app. P.s. I just made sure my app was up to date.

The app really is garbage, which is a shame because they've got great content. Sometimes I'll be able to listen to 30 minutes of an episode (I've never made it thru a full episode of anything), other times it's every 5 minutes that the app just crashes and force closes. Edit: Look, I know you guys are working on this issue and that does go a long way with me. I'm currently listening on the web player because your content really is that good. Keep trying and I'll keep supporting.

The content is great but the bugging is so annoying. I can go for hours with a podcast not spontaneously shutting down, and there are times that it shuts down every minute or two and it just keeps rewinding to some random spot in the podcast. I've done all of the suggestions for troubleshooting and it still didn't fix it. I got a better deal on it for 2023 so I kept the app but if the bugs are not fixed it's not worth it.

Great content but the app is deeply flawed. It does not keep your spot when you stop listening, sometimes going back as far as 3 or 4 episodes. I love a lot of these shows but the app itself is absolutely infuriating. As soon as it's fixed, it will be one of the best apps on the market *Update* - Even after updating the app it still does the same thing. Shows episodes I've listened to as either partially listened to or not listened to at all as well as not keeping my place

The app has issues. Whenever I pause my Podcast and then I go back to restart it, it goes back to the very beginning every time. It has been like this for over a year. Very annoying. . Responding to the response.. uninstalling and installing again will not help, it did the same thing on my phone I had previous to this one. Responding again.. this solved the problem. Thank you so much. Adding stars back to my rating

This app is TERRIBLE. It constantly crashes. Not just every once in a while. It doesn't download new episodes despite having the setting turned on. It will randomly download a new episode here and there, but it's not even consistently the same show. The continuous playback feature is a joke. It will only play from the same show but it doesn't even consistently play in order or skip heard episodes. You can't listen to your downloads as a playlist. Also doesn't consistently mark episodes as heard.

I've been a fan of Wondery for about the past year, ever since I've discovered their podcasts. They're well-researched, the narration is great, and they make nearly any topic seem interesting. Wondery Plus is a great investment and given the quality of the podcasts, I'd actually pay more for it. It is entertaining and educational at the same time. So why only two stars? Because the app itself is awful. The app is slow to load new episodes, when it loads them at all. Podcasts won't even download to my phone so that I can listen to them in areas where the signal is bad. The app randomly logs you out and won't let you log back in, even when your password is correct. Seriously, once it was so bad that I changed my password because I thought that I had forgotten it, only to find out that the new password didn't work either. The next episodes of podcasts don't play automatically. They don't resume playing once you've reconnected to bluetooth. The layout makes it really difficult to find what you're looking for. As much as I love the content, the app itself needs a ton of work.

I really like the look and feel of the Wondery app and am definitely enjoying many of the podcasts I've been listening to. Autoplay is on but doesn't work unless I have the app open and my phone screen on and I have to go back in, find the show again and play the next episode manually. The playback speed also reverts back to normal at the end of each episode and I have to change it to speed it up every single time I go to play an episode.

I love Wondery podcasts. My biggest issue with the app is that it has trouble playing downloaded podcasts when there's no data signal. Seems like the app itself (the interface) needs data to load. I was road tripping with my wife a few weeks ago; it's really frustrating when you download a full season/series of a show but can't listen to it in the middle of nowhere

Had to change my review from 5 stars to 3. Content is great! I love the variety of podcasts available. The issue is that it has terrible connection. All other apps are working just fine, but I'm not able to get Wondery to work. It will stop playing due to connection issues when no other app stops. Then it takes forever to reload. Really frustrating.

I love the content, but the app is really disappointing. There is an autoplay option, which I assumed meant it would automatically play the next episode so you can binge in peace, even though you can't create a queue or playlist. Unfortunately, the app crashes after every episode, so using it on long drives is dangerous. I've also found a couple that have the episodes listed out of order, so even if the autoplay did work...you'd be very confused and still have to manually start each episode.
