App works terribly for me, especially on my tv. There's a lot of steps to get the app to play on my tv by uninstalling, restarting my tv, & closing the app. They added Chromecast, so at least now I can cast to my tv if it works on my phone. Price increase for a service that is spotty & the app worked long enough to give me a notice my price is going up & then crashed. I have Netflix, Hulu, Paramount, Prime, Crunchyroll, VRV, and Peacock & Peacock is the only other service that gives me trouble.

I just subscribed and while it's a nice change from Netflix, the streaming is f'n annoying. Video keeps stopping, all. The. TIME. It's going to take 2 hours to watch a 45 minute show. Get it together, Disney! I don't have this problem with Netflix. Also, why can't I get an app icon? Usually when I download an app, it automatically shows up on my phone, but not with Disney. And Netflix doesn't have ads! I can't believe we have to watch ads.

Honestly, I love this app. It has all my favorite shows back from when i was younger. But honestly if you're gonna go up in price you might wanna fix the app. It won't load for nothing on none of my devices its goes back and forth from clear to can't see nothing. And it stops mid show saying it can't connect when it does load. Edit. I'm moving down to one stars. This app has gotten worse not better. I've not been able to watch it cause it WON'T load. It's near impossible to make a new profile.

Way behind everyone else. The playback quality is terrible on my S23 ultra. It doesn't utilize HDR or the full screen size. It gets stuck in this weird mini letter box thing or you zoom and cut it off. So it can't properly scale to the screen in use. Netflix, prime, youtube, Vudu, max, all are significantly better. I would expect more from a company as large as Disney.

I am leaving a review mainly for the experience of the 7.99 subscription option. I thought I would try it and see how intrusive the ads were. So yes, the ads were a whole lot more than I was expecting. If ads are only at the beginning of an episode then I don't mind them, but to interrupt an episode with 2 or 3 ads each interruption (after also having ads at the beginning). Ugh. Not doing the ad subscription again. I wanted to just upgrade but no way to do this for a Google Play sub.

If the price is going up by $3 then why not go ahead and include Hulu? Don't need ESPN as I'm not into sports but at least add something else for the price increase. Also there's not an option to remove something that was already started unless you complete it, like for instance my kids started a series and then never when back to it and now it just sits there because I don't have a way to remove it from my continue watching. Otherwise an overall good app.

The subtitles are the worst out of any app I have ever used. They skip and go too fast, and sometimes you only get a millisecond for 4 minutes worth of dialog. I live in Japan and watch Japanese shows on this, but the subtitles are so trash that I might as well have them off and just try to practice listening. I'm so disappointed I don't even bother with disney for English or Japanese subtitles anymore.

There is no warning about a password that is about to expire. instead, you put in a correct password and it's tells you it's incorrect. This is lazy. They could simply give a one month warning, saying the password is about to expire so that the customer can update it. Consider that this app can be stored on multiple devices. Having no warning makes updating them a BURDEN. This is a poor customer experience!

Just dont understand how a company this size can't get an app right. Works mostly fine on my TV, but will not play anything on my phone. I just get a black screen with a buffer circle, then just a black screen. No audio, no scroll bar, nothing. It's really annoying to pay more for a service that doesn't even work.

ADS CONTINUOUSLY LOOP AT BEGINNING OF ANY SHOW / MOVIE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH ANYTHING!!!! GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY!! I have been experiencing a bug in which the Ads before anything I stream are constantly on repeat, even after the Ads counter goes to zero. I am stuck watching the same ad until the end of time. Did you uninstall/reinstall and then try again? Yes. It does not work. This is a software bug that Disney needs to fix because I can't watch anything on their platform. REFUND ME!!

Ungodly slow and buggy. It takes forever to load the app. Once it does, it's slower than my old computer on dial-up. And good luck getting anything to download. I tried to download a season of a show. It downloaded the first 3 episodes and then stopped. The rest of the episodes just sat there with the spinning icon. Absolute trash of an app.

I just use the app on my Kindle. I have downloaded it and uninstalled it. And it's still buggy as hell! The app takes forever to load. Downloads will sometimes work and even if I get them downloaded editing my downloads doesn't always work. My app doesn't work properly like it should on my Kindle. It seems to work fine on my Android phone. But all I do on the app on my Android phone is at stuff to my watchlist so that's not a good tell at all. Such a big disappointment!

I download things to watch on a plane on my Samsung S7 tablet, and when on the plane they won't play. I get an error message that there is no internet connection. This has happened more than twice with this app. The only times it's able to play on the plane is when I start then stop the download while I'm connected to the internet before boarding. This is the only streaming app I consistently have problems playing downloads. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ review for my smart TV and phone though.

If I could give it less stars I freaking would. It never wants to load on any of our devices. Android phones, vizio tv, and hp laptop, all the way across the board, it takes 20 minutes to cast something, to chromecast. For the cost, it's definitely not worth it. They never put out new stuff for my kids to watch. I am seriously considering canceling my subscription

Great stuff to watch. The apps works horribly though. Cannot update subtitles. Premium is going up by $3/month next month. I keep getting an error when I try to update my subscription. The help chats keep dropping out when I asked for support on updating my account. The app needs better controls making updates to it, such as my membership preference and my credit card info. I unsubscribed so that I can re-subscribe back into disney basic. Waiting to be able to re-subscribe to basic.

Doesn't work on Android. I have a Moto Z4 and when I watch anything on the app, the video doesn't show. I can hear the audio, see the subtitles, and scrub through the progress bar to see the scene preview. But watching the content is not possible............ (Every time I launch this app and the problems aren't fixed, I add a period at the end of my review) (As of 9/3/23, the scene preview while scrubbing isn't there)

Stop and resume and it automatically rewinds 5 minutes. Try to fast forward 10s and it takes 10s so you might as well rewatch the 5 minutes. The slider doesn't tell you the time you're sliding too. Go too far and it takes 10s to rewind 10s. Try to rewind more than twice and you're stuck in an infinite buffering loop. Stop and resume and then you're back 5 minutes again. Ridiculous. This is 2023 how hard is it to stop, play, fast forward, and rewind. Edit: I wish I could give it 0 stars.

The app is so, so bad at recalling your progress and restarting where you left off. Just, absolutely useless. Netflix keeps your spot in whatever episode you were watching, across how ever many shows you might be progressing in, without much trouble. Every other app - but Disney+ is the worst - struggles and fails at this basic functionality. At least it remembers to keep subtitles on.
